  1. I've had a busy past few days. Pictured are the following: Minmus drilling lander, landed just a few meters from the scanning rover I had landed earlier. This is my first time playing with the ISRU stuff. Probe arrives to Moho, for polar scanning. Minimum orbit for capturing, then planechanged to polar at AP for 42m/sec. Orbital refinery and fuel depot. Docking a small craft designed to cycle some crew back to Kerbin. Got bored with the same few science experiments (stock really need a bunch more), so I installed the D-Magic Orbital Science mod. Not pictured is kicking my ElooHorizons probe out to Eloo from a low Kerbin parking orbit. Had the idea and put that probe up there some time ago, just waited for the window to open up. Eve window is next, and I have an explore Gilly contract. I don't think I have ever been there with a Kerbal before.
  2. This is why I went to University to study music, not science. Lol. Thanks for the explanation!
  3. If Kerbol were made to be the proper size for fission, how much bigger would it need to be? Would it's new radius be out past any planet's orbit?
  4. Yesterday, I launched ElooHorizons, for my first trip ever to Eloo. Making it a flyby for obvious reasons. It should get there in 2 Kerbal years.
  5. Is there some ominous Explore Jool contract that is known for auto-cancelling other contracts or something?
  6. For me it's: Build base with antenna, transmit one science experiment, antenna forever stuck as undeployable.
  7. One of my first memorable moments in this game came when Jebediah became stranded in Munar orbit after running out of electric charge. His was my first trip to the Mun. My second trip there was with a larger ship with solar panels and a big spotlight. I EVA'd Jeb to the 2nd ship and brought him home. I still look fondly back at those screenshots; it really made me feel invested in my spaceprogram and gave me a proper sense of adventure this game can provide. Rescue your man; he deserves it.
  8. Jeeze, they don't give you much in the way of advanced notice.
  9. Is there a "new" Porkjet album? OP, why wouldn't you include a link to the very thing your thread is here to discuss?
  10. Visit the few anomalies there, via plane or rover. Bring some flags to plant too.
  11. Never use the Mk3, and only recently did I notice the Mk1-2 is 4 tons. I use it all the time but never bothered to look. Needs fixing for sure.
  12. I install my mods manually; I'm just curious what KSP's official mod manager would be. Maybe it'd be useful? With the lack of activity on this tool, I wonder why Curse continues to be KSP's "official" mod repository? Form the outside looking in, it seems like Curse hasn't fulfilled their end of the bargain?
  13. I exceeded 1,000 hours of KSP playtime. I think that means it is my most-played videogame ever.
  14. I was thinking a power issue too. In the upper right of the screen is a resource button. It lets you see the fuel, oxidizer and electricity your ship has. I bet you will see the electricity has run out by the time you flew up to orbit. You lose electric charge when you turn your ship. When your engine wouldnt fire, could you still spin the ship around or did it feel "dead?" Either slap a pair of batteries on the command pod up top, or 3 of the flat, single piece solar panels up there. 3 allows at least 1 to face the Sun at all times. Using just batteries will give you extra juice, but once its used, without a solar panel (or an RTG later on) you wont be able to generate more electricity.
  15. No, because I am cool and have an imagination.
  16. They could put it in the parts description, but even the existing information on those is sketchy.
  17. Huh? Even the starting parts are made by 3rd party companies. For instance, the MkI pod is produced by Kerlington Model Rockets and Paper Products Inc.
  18. I just checked my current Apollo-style design. It comes in at just under 30,000kg. This is the section you're referring to?
  19. You guys really have problems with your rovers flipping? I just use a low center of mass and don't drive like you stole it. No problems.
  20. I use it solely for looks on stations. Science is too easy to come by for it to be used for it's intended purpose.
  21. Can't say I agree, but thanks for the clarification.
  22. I often wondered about this too. IMHO it should only feature people playing KSP. This is what is currently featured:
  23. I send lots of mini probes and landers around. I've been almost everywhere with them. I have yet to land on Tylo, Vall, Pol, Bop, and Eloo. I've flown past all but Eloo.
