Now where did they get that idea from? I've been doing that since I first started using orange tanks. They must be watching me, hacking my computer. ...and the bit about technology that trickles down into products used by the general public; well, that sure wasn't with regard to batteries used in Samsung phones now was it.

+2 That must be some awesome hot-glue! I wouldn't dare try that with anything less than J-B Weld.

RIP Jebtrey Kermin. Having landed off target way up in the northwestern mountains, Jebtrey hiked for 4+km through very rugged terrain in quest of reaching an anomaly / monolith. He should have known better, that you do not go hiking after dark even if you do have a really good flashlight. After a long tumbling slide, gaining great speed, which then turned into sheer vertical free-fall; Jebtrey learned even the best most advanced flashlights become useless.

I think a lot here are missing the point; Imagine if every developer put such unrelated animated memes in their code... just because fill in reason here.

Impacts without actually hitting something - in warp
LordFerret replied to WanderingKid's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I would go with that. Have you looked into the log to see the order in which your craft went poof? That could tell you something. -
In the course of global conquest, I always played as Zakharov (dig those funky glasses, dude was a total party animal), and always kept Lady Deirdre around ... because ... well ... she was a really cute babe.

"Here kitty kitty" So, I don't have many (any) plane parts unlocked in the Tech tree yet... focus is rockets. I needed a 'buggy' though, so I slapped some things together with the intent to drive over to the KSC monolith. Imagine my surprise to find the LY-10 gear (4 of them placed on the buggy) behaving more like pogo sticks. No joke, it was actually comical; This thing was dancing a jig all over the place. I just let it go to see where it would end up. It was all over the place. After a while, just for ha-ha's, I threw a pair of AV-T1 winglets on it ... and to my amazement, the pogo'ing disappeared. Go figure. Some crazy physics going on here.

Probe loses contact with KSC shortly after launch... what gives?
LordFerret replied to a topic in KSP1 Discussion
I plan to do that when I reach out (Eve, Duna, etc). I didn't have much of a problem putting relays up around Mun or Minmus. No fancy math, no MJ, I just put one relay up in a circularized 500km orbit, with two more following it ... set the first one as target for the two following, matched plane off the first, and then just eyeball adjusted the positions in orbit (as one would for docking intercept maneuvers). Worked fine. The antennas for the relays are the HG-5. The probes and ships use the Comm 16-S. -

I've not run into this yet, and I've launched plenty of probes. I'll have to pay more attention next launch. -
hehehe!

Great game. I liked how, even after the game was 'over', you could keep on playing. Always loved the Nietzsche quotes (Homo Superior).

Against my better judgement, I've recruited "Trama Kermin" ... yup, that's right, that's her name, "Trama". I've put her aboard 'the bus' which is headed to my orbiting lab. Can't wait to see if she lives up to her name. If I ever run across another female "Drama Kermin", for sure the two of them will become a permanent team.

Sugar and spice and everything nice ..... no ... wait ... that's what little girls are made of. Never mind. That's actually Ferrous sulfate. You need to add Ammonium sulfate to get Ammonium iron sulfate... ...which definitely looks more like Minmus.

[Input desired] Preparing a new college class for Fall 2017
LordFerret replied to adsii1970's topic in The Lounge
Just WOW. I have always felt that such real sciences study should encompass this topic. They too (SciFi authors), after all, were 'dreamers'. This really rings a note with me because, 100 years ago in school, I was berated for including Arthur C. Clarke's (and a few others) envisionments of the future and future technologies in a finals report. Go for it!- 25 replies

Being you did not specify what version of KSP, which you should have, I cast vote for the current (v1.2) ... otherwise, the vote is 'all'.
-
Yea. Bear Island is in the Barents Sea (Norway)... nowhere near Alaska, or the west coast of Canada. I think you made a wrong turn somewhere.
-
Nothing streams 'live' anymore, especially NASA ... it's all got a delay, for 'content control' purposes.

[1.3.1] Docking camera (KURS) (14.feb.18)
LordFerret replied to DennyTX's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I used this for the first time briefly with v1.2pre (nice), and I intend to use it again once I get close to unlocking the Tech Tree for docking ports (playing a science game). Why is this mod not found in here?... ...it should be! -
KSP Hard Crash
LordFerret replied to LordFerret's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Update: All I lost was the ship I was building, quite a bit of it anyway. I've not been able to reproduce this, despite now some 4 or 5 hours of continuous play. I'll take it that's a good thing. -
So I'm running the new release (v1.2), Win 64, a science game with a few mods (MM, KAC, SCANsat, and Chatterer). I'm in the VAB building a ship, go to place a science experiment on the vessel (a thermometer), and KSP stops responding. It spits out an error message 'KSP Stopped Responding blah blah blah' or something to that effect... then the screen goes white, and then BSOD. Hard crash. First time I've seen one of those in ages. A brief message was thrown up by Win BSOD before all went black, something about not being able to handle a system exception, and then it rebooted - took f.o.r.e.v.e.r. to come back. Back in, I see no crash logs for KSP, and, of course, the Windows memory dump file (from the crash) is useless. The last entry in the output_log file... Now to see what damage was done to my game in progress.

[1.12.x] Kerbal Alarm Clock v3.13.0.0 (April 10)
LordFerret replied to TriggerAu's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
It's frightening how dependent I've become on this mod. Thank you for the update! -
Was the question: How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

Etiquette of moving to a game new version

No Kerbal left behind... bring'em all home. Then, pick from there.
