That's good information; Too bad I didn't see it posted anywhere in the MM thread when I initially went there to download it. Maybe I missed it. In the past, MM came along with whatever mod I was using - SCANsat for example, or Claw's bug fixes. I'm not running any unsupported platform, as far as I know, as everything I download is either from KSP's store or mods here from the forums. So I'm not sure where that fits in. I downloaded a mod that supposedly was ready for v1.2pre, but it needed MM. The MM thread offered a mod for v1.2pre, and I rolled with it. Mission accomplished, all except for the cat... which is still there, and I would like to get rid of. If sarbian must, how about a Jeb floating by?

I suppose slamming into the ground at 200m/s would suffice also.

I recall the itty bitty ones whisked me in memory back off into the dentist's chair lol.

Yes, this ^ I posted in the MM mod thread requesting how to remove it. I was basically told to live with it or not use MM... such nice helpful people. Then there was some hint that it would be removed once v1.2 was released. Let's see.

[1.3.1] Docking camera (KURS) (14.feb.18)
LordFerret replied to DennyTX's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Just installed and gave it a try. It's not working for me. I'm running KSP Win64 Pre1.2. I get the Onboard Camera in the 'Command and Control' section, which I've not tried to use yet. I did put two capsules up into orbit and try docking ... the docking camera didn't function, no button in the right click menu, capsules were 20m apart. Am I missing something? Edit: Answer - yes! Apparently I missed out on the Module Manager requirement. Nevermind. -

Kerbal Space Program 1.2 Loud and Clear - Official Teaser
LordFerret replied to Jarin's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Yes, I've seen this. Tried it. It's only so-so IMO... sucks in low light conditions. After all this time, having gone through two long time mods for docking cameras (Lazor & Hullcam), and repeated requests by many to have the devs incorporate them; I'm disappointed to see they've not yet been added, a most basic thing continually left out. :/ I see however that DennyTX's docking camera is ready for Pre1.2, so I'll run with that for now. -
[Input desired] Preparing a new college class for Fall 2017
LordFerret replied to adsii1970's topic in The Lounge
I would disagree with that, as science has shown many very ancient civilizations had amazing knowledge of stars and celestial objects out there not even visible to the naked eye. It brings to question the possibility of lost science / knowledge / technologies that we only now seem to be rediscovering. I don't think it would hurt any to brush over all the way-back stuff early on in such a course, but I would think adsii1970's main focus would more be on the active current exploration component, recent history which starts around the (pre and post) WWII era.- 25 replies

Kerbal Space Program 1.2 Loud and Clear - Official Teaser
LordFerret replied to Jarin's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Great. Now add docking cameras. -
I try to catch the Adirondack Hot Air Balloon Festival (Glens Falls, NY) every few years. Always a fun time.

My friend's phone did the same. It was a BLU Studio 7 (Android). She kept telling me her phone had 'broken', and when I checked it out I saw the battery - quite inflated. I thought maybe because she constantly used the thing while it was plugged in (recharging), baking the battery.

Couldn't resist.

They're not 'laced', so no, not a problem.

Of course these days, a stunt as such could have you awarded an all expenses paid vacation in county lockup.

I suppose, yes, you could do that ... run it under Wine (but according to that article, that won't work anymore, things have 'changed'). But that wasn't my point. My view was to boot the system under Linux, access the drive and copy all the data to a backup external drive (provided the drive's entire contents weren't encrypted, which is not what Win10 does by default). Once that is done, he could reformat / reinstall / whatever ... start over.

I was talking about Neil DeGrasse Tyson. His academic shortfalls are documented. The rest I send in PM.

The article's a little old, but (I would say that's a 'no') - https://blog.varonis.com/windows-10-authentication-the-end-of-pass-the-hash/ But why bother with all such gyrations? A Knoppix (or any other Linux) live disc will have you accessing the data in minutes (unless you've encrypted the entire drive).

Indeed, he is an author and 'science communicator', but that bit about being an astrophysicist and cosmologist ... well ... at the risk of starting yet another firestorm over "people I know" ... one cosmologist doesn't exactly hold him in very high regard, nor does the top-flight 'educator' (professor) hold great faith in his being an 'astrophysicist' (as in, he wasn't exactly at the top of his class in school). Let the slings and arrows begin. But, I agree; Is this another No Man's Sky in the brewing?

Antenna & Manned Capsule Behavior
LordFerret posted a topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I have a ship I put into orbit around Mun. Playing a science game, I do not yet have the Tech Tree unlocked for the Mk1-2 pod, so I'm using 2 Mk1 cans stacked on top of each other. The top-most Mk1 can has twin Comm 16-S antennas. There is an MPL-LG-2 lab incorporated into the ship. Both Kerbals sent on the mission are scientists. Orbiting Mun along with this 'science station' are 3 Comm relay ships with twin HG-5 antennas (500km orbit)... so comm path isn't an issue. Power isn't an issue either, as adequate battery and solar are present. The odd behavior I'm seeing is when I put both scientists into the lab; I lose Comm link. If I put one of the crew back into the lander can with the antennas, Comm link is restored. IMO, this shouldn't be. I'm wondering now, what if the antenna were on the lab itself? (something I'll have to try) Has anyone else noticed antenna behavior like this? -
Those who can, do; those who can't, manage / teach. And then there's the Peter Principal. (an excellent book) {Edit: Also to mention, Founder's syndrome.} The issue of Squad's inability to communicate is a recurring theme and has been so for some time.
