Pigeons can, I've seen many experiments involving that. And you think this isn't still happening even today?
-
That's actually me who makes those statements. Get your political protestors straight already. lol I watched the launch. I also caught the news reported of the landing attempt, (as one news outlet put it): " rocket landing suffers 'unscheduled disassembly' ". Very Kerbal. Maybe that's the point? I still fail to see the usefulness of trying to land a rocket under power on a barge; The extra cost and weight of fuel, the technology involved. If you can reenter a vehicle with pinpoint accuracy as such, why not pop out chutes and landing legs and set the thing down in the space center's parking lot???

Hey wait a minute, the burn times actually are really long. lol

This could have helped you determine the damage (joules)... http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/102771-11-impact-impact-science-and-contracts-v142-with-asteroids-7915/

Must be a hot topic, I can't even get the page to load. lol
-
Nope, not possible. It's not a 'file' that gets posted into the reply box, it's a link that points to a file (on an external server) ... as all those above have pointed out to you. Go check out Imgur. Edit: The only other way would be for Squad to give administration rights/privileges to the forums server, where you could then store your image file and incorporate it directly into the HTML forums generated page. Not gunna happen.

I had one ship that I did use them with, an Ion craft out to Eeloo.

The real fun starts when you've neglected adequate battery, and you're flying through an eclipse, and it's time to fire those engines for that maneuver..........

Ah, fun with words. Imagine that guy at work - he's disgruntled. Imagine what he'd be if he wasn't. (Yes, it is. lol)

That's interesting. Perhaps that idea of an IPO not being far off is not all that far fetched. Then again, the Washington Post leaning in the direction it does, I have little faith or trust in a lot of what it reports.

You're already immortal. The energy in your head, "You", your 'soul' ... that whole bit about energy can neither be created nor destroyed. Think about it.

Looking for a new computer for university. Can anyone help?
LordFerret replied to Dman979's topic in The Lounge
Well you're right there! lol Bop on in and see what folks are using. Pay a visit to the IT department and see what they suggest (being you'll be using their network access). Oh, and, good luck to you! -
Google shopping ... no ads. The site you shop at might have some however. For example: https://www.google.com/#tbm=shop&q=laptop+new Check out the options on the left-side of the screen, like setting a price range, manufacturer, etc.

You never did tell me your final choice of college. Is it ER? If it is, I'll ask my cousin's son what they're using ... he's there now. Otherwise, Macs are ok, everything included. PC - I prefer ASUS. For Linux OS, Mint has a really nice build out ... Mint 18 "Sarah" is their intended long-term support version, planned to be supported well into 2021. -
About fps, you were correct. I checked out the ShowFPS mod, and indeed my fps is not what I thought. At the station, it's about 10fps, and drops to 9.something while I rotate view around the station. If I turn the lights off, I get around 14.8fps. That's all with a part count of just over 1000. I also timed the scene load going from the Tracking Station to the space station - 46.31 seconds. It takes a little less (20 to 30 seconds) while in another ship rendezvousing with the station.

Folded wings eh? Why then have the things land vertically??? Why not let them come back and land on runways (drones)? That sounds (to me) like a far better idea than a powered vertical landing on a barge.

That's ok, a lot of people don't. However, it might be something to start doing ... a lot of what happens in this world (especially with regard to things like emerging technologies) often reflects first in what the financial world is doing in related industries. As the saying goes: follow the money.

And then..... -
Honestly, I'm not seeing (feeling) this performance increase. I've had large stations in prior versions (with plenty of lights on**), none of which were lagging as such until the part counts were well over 1000. And, surely, approaching this station, it taking some 20 to 30 seconds for it to load up (I'll have to time it next time), I never experienced in prior versions. A few seconds, yes. 20 to 30? No. ** Also with SAS on, from multiple docked ships even, where the SAS wasn't trying to tear the station apart. Humm. Well, I can try out one of the mods and see if I can get better numbers. I don't have Fraps, but I do have OBS ... don't know off-hand if it will tell me fps though.

Are you kidding me? Google it man. Do you read any financial news?... if you do, how could you have missed that??? https://www.google.com/#q=spacex+fidelity

That would truly ruin my day. lol -
At some point, all of those names, and more, will be used to name new planets. It's a big universe.

Last night I brought a Mun lander (and its transport) back and docked them with the station, which now brings the part count up to 1049. Even with all the lights on (which looks very cool when you're coming up to it to dock while on the nightside) I'm getting a solid 25fps. I can even EVA a Kerbal about without much problem. As for all the small parts, I'm stuck working with what's available until I unlock more of the Tech tree - a thing I'm not very aggressively pursuing because of crashes and waiting for Squad to put out another update, that and this is the 3rd or 4th time I've started a Science game from the git-go, so yea. One thing though, if you look at the altitude in that image, it's fallen below the 300km orbit I'd put it in - again. This is some funky game physics going on, and of course, needs to be looked into / fixed. Just another of the reasons I'm not pursuing stuff.
