[1.12.x] Alcubierre Warp Drive (Stand-alone)
goldenpsp replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
@capi3101 you would be my hero if at some point you had the interest in an even basic tutorial. I am obviously too dumb to wrap my head around how to use this drive. Others have done some simple diagrams but it just hasn't clicked for me. -
Yea, I wasn't ignoring your other question, I just didnt have a sufficient answer to that.

Here's a better idea. How about you post your screenshot then we can tell you if it is correct or not?
-
my only comment regarding KIS is that while it is an amazing mod I don't think it is reasonable to expect that everything needs to be designed to be assembled in situ.

Neither. Everything you need for Ground Construction is included in MKS -

I know others say it isn't necessary but I can't be bothered to balance my VTOL craft. I use TCA https://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/97154-13-throttle-controlled-avionics/ -

[1.12.x] Alcubierre Warp Drive (Stand-alone)

Search Altitude in the thread. For Kerbin IIRC its 600,000 minimum. Your answer is littered all over the thread. -

No, if you read through the thread about bubblesize those variables don't do anything. Hence the roverdude quote I posted earlier. -

If there was, it would probably be on the RO side. -

Upper right is a handy search feature. You can search bubblesize. That being said unless something has changed the answer is no. @RoverDude's last post on the topic I can find is: "The limitation on the warp bubble size is a conscious design choice and part of the balance between the different parts." And no you cannot use 2 drives. -
So several things. First- Second, from 2 posts above yours: It's on CKAN....for 1.1.2. Really shouldn't be expecting something from a mod that hasn't been updated since a year ago. And last, This sounds like a great time to dip your feet into the modding world. Many who have no background have created mods for KSP. If nobody has stepped up in the last year to take over and update this mod, then it isn't likely to happen unless a big fan of this mod decides to...Hey wait, you just said you are a fan.

it may seem to be an obvious question but you are using the latest version? Those settings are copied to the save file. So while not as convenient you can edit the settings directly in the save file if necessary.

Sounds like a good time to break into the modding world. I'm sure @IgorZ would welcome a pull request if you figure it out -

While it sounds legit concerning your troubleshooting I'm banking on some eye rolling about the need for 150 drills... -
Nortons rejecting KIS
goldenpsp replied to Silverwood's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
everyone is going to have a good experience with any product. I manage ~800 nodes of antivirus for work across a range of small business clients. Overall in terms of actually catching viruses and most importantly "staying out of the way" norton ranks pretty low. It isn't the best at catching viruses and its hogs more resources than many other options. But if it works for by all means don't switch on my account. -
Nortons rejecting KIS
goldenpsp replied to Silverwood's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
I'll say it. Norton is one of the worst, most annoying A/V solutions out there. Replace it with something better. -
That default changed long ago. You can change it in the settings.

[1.8.1 - 1.12.5] Interstellar Fuel Switch (IFS) 3.29.5
goldenpsp replied to FreeThinker's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Yes I guess based at least off of the description in the OP there is nothing that suggests it does or should have any balance tweaks. If these balance tweaks etc are primarily for your KSPIE, just out of curiousity why not have those MM scripts and balance tweaks in that mod?- 1,187 replies

[1.8.1 - 1.12.5] Interstellar Fuel Switch (IFS) 3.29.5
goldenpsp replied to FreeThinker's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I would tend to agree with the sentiment of others. For a mod that deals with tank switching, it seems out of scope to have resource tweaks here.- 1,187 replies

@Cadet_BNSF It is possible. That is what I was trying to say in my other post. There have been times where parts of the USI suite have had hotfixes that don't make it into all mod distros. For example you don't usually install USI-core because it is bundled with USI-LS etc. But occassionally USI-CORE may have been updated but didnt get into a USI-LS distro. So it's important to check all of the mods to ensure you have all of the appropriate shared components as well.

@Cadet_BNSF are you playing 1.2.2 as your directory suggests? I would probably make super sure you have all of the appropriate versions of the USI mods and core. It can sometimes be tricky given the number of mods and their dependencies. Not only do they have to be the appropriate versions for KSP but also the appropriate version to each other. Just a thought.

Given that is pretty much a stock question (yes CRP adds resources but just leverages the stock IRSU). you would probably be better asking in stock support. It will probably get more traction there.
