So if you had an engine split between a fuel pump and exhaust bell, would you be able to make the fuel pump determine stuff like isp? -
Hey everyone! Does anyone here know how to make a part that draws some of its parameters from the part directly above it? I'm working on a modular engine mod and I need to know how to pass parameters between the parts. Thanks!

So I'm trying to make a mod that basically adds an engine that is 'cut in half'-- as in, the fuel pump/combustion chamber and exhaust bell are two different parts, and depending on what combination of pump/combustion chamber and bell you use, the engine changes performance. Does anybody know if this is possible? If not, I'll just use the tried and true method of putting a slider on the VAB right-click menu. Thanks!

Really, the trick is having the submunitions be part of the model. I just took the model from the cluster bomb and the AIM-120 and basically reverse engineered the bomb and built that into the missile. Honestly, I had a lot of help from Spanner on this one, with ridiculous things like missiles flying sideways without his help.

@GregroxMun, we have a problem. The Armstrong has launched, but it crashes my game every time Too many parts.

*Cough* he's not going to do it *cough* BTW I remember when I was like you... Making ridiculous requests to the modders... Being the dreaded "ideas guy"... I had ideas... And then I started making mods. By tweaking the .cfg on the stock struts, and reskinning them. (Speaking of which, SuperStrongStruts WILL return. Coming Q4 2016.) Just tweak the .cfg, and retexture the turrets. It's not nearly as tough as you'd think. Also, great work @SpannerMonkey(smce)

Can You Recommend Three Mods For a NOOB?

I would recommend B9 Aerospace, for part variety. I would need to think about the other 2. -
That'd be pretty cool! It'd have to rely on a plugin though... I might want to take this on! I'd call it... Adaptable Thruster Launch and Ascent System, or ATLAS. I'll start working on it... I will (hopefully) assemble a team!

So I am just perusing this thread and I gotta say... I need to upload some of my stuff here. I've made some pretty cool stuff recently, but I've never gotten them to work the way they're supposed to... My design for a starfighter became a 5th gen (air)fighter, and my attempt at a VTOL ground attack plane turned into a supersonic, continental range ground attack craft. I'm also working on a VTOL Airborne Heavy Weapons Platform akin to @Adelaar's Liberator... Who knows what that will become. I'll post screenshots later. -

I accept the Super Mode challenge-- with a twist: I'm going to colonize Erkers. With a giant mothership. And build an orbital assembly station there. Because I can. Or is that more Hyper Mode, @GregroxMun? Are any other mods than NFT banned?

I have read the terms and conditions and I am unsure about whether you have permission to use the meshes to publish a mod without express permission from the mesh's author. I'm really sorry, but I need to be sure that it is permitted to do this before I can work on this.
