  1. Maybe they have been planning 1.85m parts so long it just hasn't turned up yet.
  2. There is also going to be several other groups including one which will point out that multi-player universe like KSP could easily be full of recoverable paradoxes that just sort themselves out using the vast scale of time and space involved. This could even be stretched by other means that puts the onus on the player who creates the paradox to takes steps to resolve it (or get flipped back in time to before the paradox). Also this creates multi-player value in that one simple way to resolve would be to get other players to help out. Not dissimilar to mission builder the parameters to resolve could be a bundled together and issued as a contract offered up by the server. Once you have a means to address the pardox then you can set limits on how much one player can warp away from the time line.
  3. As noted this is more an issue with Kerbal killing rotation while warping instead of conserving momentum. If the rotation didn't disappear then player could a) think about what slight rotation to leave craft with to make sure panels present themselves to the sunny side b) have a station keeping autopilot system correct as needed to. a) will never be prefect b) has a power cost. So yes panels produce power in warp as they should but a game abstraction causes an issue. If fixing the game issue is to hard then the option change the game calculations to better reflect real world. On average the craft with exposed panels and some sunlight will always collect some power but not optimal power. To me a craft in warp should only generate zero power if blocked by planet and never run out of battery unless it drains the batteries while transiting the planet.
  4. Couldn't they just tweak warp to discount a small amount of generation in return for always charging if craft receives sun.
  5. Maybe something unity would need to make instead of squad. Still don’t know why game makers don’t team with streaming or music services to let players have own music in game? let the game tweak the playlist scene changes throw new keywords in to mix and change what songs happen next. Games change tempo, harshness or style for different situations. So atmospheric reentery might kick in guitar based rock for me but someone with classical tastes might get more stirring kettle drums. keywords like mars for duna would kick up some interesting tunes and non American game developers could even tweak it to promote their own culture or styles. encourage fan works to publish to the services and give them special treatment is games.
  6. Well turns out I fired the engines too long first attempt. Or maybe just not high enough about atmosphere at 65K. If I edit up to a higher orbit and fire and can get clean shots and add a fair bit of eccentricity to the orbit.
  7. Given the seat is well ahead of the door does this let you EVA a Kerbal in a MK1 cabin via the MK1 cockpit without making the pilot get out first?
  8. Well... attempt one did okkish. Had craft 65km up with Pe just above ground level. Fire Kerbal and the poor kerbal exploded not far out front of craft.
  9. If you fly high enough can you get kerbal in to orbit or at least pe above ground?
  10. Making History would lend itself to cut scenes. End each mission with a Kerbalised version of the historical mission. Also allow mission builders to have maybe a pre-roll and post- roll videos (15 to 30secs max). Although that would require a video recorder in game.
  11. Keep the existing parts level them up as a way expanding the tech tree further into the late game.
  12. To me the issue isn't that there are two pages just that you have to go thru both then a third to do what is the most obvious thing. I mean other settings once every year of so I don't think i've hit any other choice on the first screen other than start game. Keep the two screens, keep the animation - just layout the options sensibly make the second screen react to the first choice if needed.
  13. Well, Mods aren't a real answer but they might be the best answer we get. Understanding you have multi-saves on the go it's not a great solution at all. Me well, my play time is more limited and tend to one have one save on the go so It suits me to get there with one click.
  14. Wait there is a Mod to skip all the front end? Can it say just open the last saved game as well that would be choice?
  15. Yes single screen would be good just to get in to the game quickly. Add a button for lasted saved game would be a bonus.
  16. Maybe the best of both worlds is a Squad or Joint venture developed a client to DMP? Stock deals with the part the DMP client can't access and solve well enough as mod. DMP server handles the part it does well and other modders can join the fun enabling different rule set and gameplay option on the back of stock client. To me, Stock might handle peer to peer physics bubble sharing, maybe even say split bubble into a visual range and physics range so the later. With physics kicking when a collision is detected. For all orbital drifting alone in the vastness of space with the odd syncing event DMP server handles.
  17. Landing gear is the only one intended to be used in the atmosphere to carry the sound. I doubt that is the reason.
  18. If you wanted to simulate radio transmissions you could save lock out a number of minutes ahead of the craft and not allow new nodes in that zone. How many minutes would be well say twice maybe three times the radio delay to the nearest control center.
  19. Kerbal Co-pilots. You don't get the skills unless you take them along.
  20. Why would people be mad?* It's a game. If new rules make the game more fun, challenging, interesting and social then why be mad. You still get more replay value in an engine that can handle multiplayer and could well then be moddable to suit the rules you want. I mean the great joy of KSP is it's moddable so the stock game doesn't need to go over the top they can stop at a basic workable position and leave scope. As for Paradox well surely if KSP wants** to be space agency game then paradox is just a fact of life. I mean there are people wondering around NASA thinking about all sorts of contradictory futures right now and that works. Do you they hold off launching an ISS resupply mission because another mission is pre-scheduled for next year and something might go wrong with the docking port? As for 1.4 *some people just like being mad!? **I realise given the state of the game this goal has probably been redefined these days.
  21. Hoping we'll see a whole range of engines in the 1.8m size that already been shown as part of Making history. A nuc in that size should be equivalent to 2.5- 3 1.25m units. Plus 3 of them should still fit on MK3 tank.
  22. I always hoped Kerbals could learn basic moves themselves. Even if limited to basic milk run type flying. So two trained kerbals in a space plane between could take-off from runaway match orbit to a spacestation dock and return after a suitable amount of player interaction. another two with similar training could work on a Minmus refining station getting ore pods off the surface on a regular basis and get them back to drilling points. So it's not a full auto-pilot but a reason to value trained Kerbals and streamline some of the more repetitive flying. Or miner Engineers could go out and do some of their own exploring. Scientist Kerbals on the look out for stuff of interest to tell you.
  23. This would add to the idea Minmus is made of ice cream if it had fog in the valleys.
  24. A small extendable docking port and socket would be useful in these situations. Especially say putting rovers in cargo bays so auto-strut quartermasters the load.
  25. I just don't get why people mug their mouse? I think there is a reason most 6DOF devices are more puck like. In that, it's just easier to use them if your fingers are free to push and pull in the required direction.
