  1. Hopefully a rocket part overhaul and a stock dV calculator.
  2. You might have the landing gear too far back, as that makes it near impossible to pivot the nose up for takeoff. Move the rear landing gear to just behind the CoM and takeoff runs should be easy.
  3. How is this thread even still going? It isn't even a debate, it is play how you want as it doesn't effect anyone else.
  4. I don't think anyone knows for certain. Best guess is that it is related to the krakensbane bugfix that was added ages ago to kill the kraken.
  5. I've been trying to make a working K-drive for a long while, and every time i succeed the next update breaks it. Good to see the glitch is still in game.
  6. Hopefully they manage to clear up if the thing works or not. Though i don't think that it does, i'd really like it to.
  7. I highly suspect that they currently don't have a full and experienced team as it is hard to hire the right people fast enough, so they're essentially having to tread water until they can get enough people. It also seems pretty clear that they are working pretty hard at getting KSP going again.
  8. Though they looked awfully outdated even then, i enjoyed the form factor as it allowed smaller and easier to use shuttles. I also used the cockpit on a lot of my craft which i can no longer rebuild due to nothing being at all like it. Would love to see an updated set return.
  9. I... I don't think orbital mechanics works quite like that...
  10. Superdraco thrusters and larger rocket landing legs would both be very useful.
  11. I actually use 10% as a rule of thumb for my lifters when building, and then gradually push them further and often end up above 15%
  12. I think Musk has decided on this architecture not because it is the best or the most efficient, but because it has the fewest vehicles to develop and so will be cheaper and quicker to produce and has the highest chance of being built.
  13. I agree with the 1.875m part idea. Imo it would be the perfect rocket size and would also be just where shuttle SRBs should be. Would also allow 2 man crew capsules like gemini.
  14. Ok don't turn the thread into that. Roverdude is good at making parts and i'm sure someone will be brought in to replace Porkjet. Hopefully this rocket overhaul still goes ahead, though whether or not it will be in the same style is debatable. When the plane parts were redone, we got a ton of new ones in the process. So i'm guessing new rocket parts will be added when the old ones are redone.
  15. I agree here. The 3.75m line feels so unfinished, and should have everything the other lines have available such as crew pods, batteries, SAS, etc.
  16. Would rather have a 'Mk-2.5' series. Same size as the old Mk-3, but symmetrical. Really enjoyed building in that size and found it just right. Miss the cockpit most of all as a ton of my stuff used it.
  17. Uh.... i missed a few posts. How did we get from facts about developers leaving to doctors doing experiments on gender identity?
  18. Well they have 3 devs left, one of which is the community manager. Like it or not but you need a team of devs for this kind of thing. At the very least it will be delayed by many months.
  19. 99% certain the part overhaul is dead in the water.
  20. I'm not surprised. I've seen it happen many times and the signs that KSP was coming to an end started popping up a year ago. Doesn't matter though. Despite all its flaws it is hands down the best game i have ever played or am likely to play, and nothing held me hooked for even close to as long as this one did.
  21. Imo Minmus mining is more viable. Low gravity means it is easy to bring fuel up, and it is right on the edge of the soi so you can head interplanetary with full fuel.
  22. Also it would just punch a hole in a LOX or fuel tank. Not vaporise half the rocket. Pure LOX or kerosene isn't flammable. You also might need incendiary rounds to light the fuel that did start spilling out, as that stuff isn't actually easy so set on fire.
  23. Or more likely a piece of debris landed up there that they want to pick up. Literally all they asked was to go onto the roof, and it has been completely overblown.
  24. SSTO shouldn't even be on that list. Many modern launch vehicles could SSTO given just their first stage and no payload.
  25. I noticed that people don't like them being added mid flight, but IMO that is one of their best parts. One of the main reasons I avoid docking large stations or motherships together is due to them behaving like wet noodles, and the autostrut feature is finally allowing me to make proper things in orbit that are stable.
