  1. Alright, lets add a docking port now that we have translation capabilities, so we can dock, refuel, transfer drugged crew and all that good stuff. ...Do we even have anything to dock with?
  2. Aw man Very interesting. I haven't even considered that the point of view might be changing, and therefore the displayed scenery should too (how often would the trainee actually move from the pilot's seat enough for this to be noticeable?). Also, would the tech be able to deal with latency due to all the necessary processing? (I imagine seeing your hands with considerable lag would be unusable, but the lag being applied only to the images behind the "windows" sounds more bearable)
  3. -17 5char Back to the old routine, I guess.

    Riddles

No guesses yet, just reposting the riddle to the new page.
  5. I don't see how I'm contradicting the rules. It is a mathematical expression, which, when solved, gives you the number that I ended up at from the -19 before me. You could argue that it is not "reasonably understandable" to everyone, and I can counter that with "even if you don't know the math in question, there are tools that will solve the equation for you". Unless the image is not showing for you - I have no idea why it wouldn't, though, it's just linked from imgur. The number was -18, by the way. And now it is -18 again.
  6. How much would one of those puppies cost me? Does your company only build airplane cockpit simulators, or can one order a spacecraft cockpit simulator (Soyuz, Orion, Space Shuttle...)? Can you build me a cockpit to simulate a mech from the Battletech universe? Do you accept payment in the form of souls of the innocent? On topic: No, Oculus Rift and the like will never reach this far. Unless we are talking about full on virtual reality ala The Matrix - but who knows which one would be cheaper to buy/borrow.
  7. "Might everyone bounce?", Derek kindly imposed. Certainly unwise. ndltnrbi
  8. No. You absolutely don't need to know the inner workings of the code to use the tool. Your question, however, was not asking how to use the tool, but how the tool works, which are two very different things.
  9. Good luck with that, I don't think the game is even capable of recording an impact at those velocities. Even if the two crafts hit each other dead on, the physics engine won't have enough time to notice and they'll just pass through each other (just like time warping straight through a planet). Your best bet is probably to work with really long vessels and right positioning (to maximize the volume they will share when passing through each other) and to set your delta physics time to something huge. But small satellites or asteroids are most likely not going to cut it
  10. Cumulatively or at once? If the latter, is there a video? I have once created a sandbox save file dedicated to torturing and killing kerbals. Most of them smiled during the activities, so I concluded that torturing and killing kerbals is probably not my area of expertise and deleted the save so no one would know
  11. It is a number. You just have to play with parentheses to force wolframalpha (or any other computational engine of your choice - google gets it weird though) to group things correctly (or calculate by hand, if you are familiar with complex numbers). Wolframalpha query: (6*e^(i*((2*Pi)/8)) * 6*e^(i*Pi/2)) / (2*e^(i*(-Pi/4)))
  12. I do not identify with either of your sides. I'm only here to enact the Kraken's will. And the Kraken wishes me to add. -20
  13. I have a few favourites that will get rebuild ASAP Most of them already fly well under FAR, so it shouldn't be that bad.
  14. 2/10 No name, no fame. (I think I saw that sig around, but not much more)
