[1.7.3] Graphics Enhancements Assembly (GEA)
Poodmund replied to Davian Lin's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I'm not asking you to remove CTTP, I'm asking you to utilize it properly and locate it's folder in the way that the mod is set up for multiple mod makers to utilize from a unified source. If a user installs a mod that uses CTTP (in the correctly, intended fashion) and then installs GEA, there will be two sets of the terrain textures in their install that will be cached into RAM. This is unnecessary as it just takes up memory resources for no good reason. If you locate the CTTP textures in the GameData/CTTP folder, as set up in the CTTP as intended, then when a user installs multiple mods that use CTTP, they won't have duplicate terrain textures being loaded unnecessarily. Also I have no idea what either Capt. Robau or Galileo's involvement in this or the CC-Sharealike license that this mod is licensed under has anything to do with the request that was made...? Look at who published the latest release of this mod on the Git repo, I am fully aware as to what this mod is licensed under . -
[WIP] Restock: KSP Part Art Revamp (Released March 06)

Great seeing this go public; its nice to see such a strong community project addressing one of KSP's major stumbling blocks. Keep it up all! -
[1.3.*-1.12.*] Pood's Skyboxes [v1.3.0] [17th Jan. 2019]
Poodmund replied to Poodmund's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I can't be bothered to update this until an elegant solution can be implemented into CKAN to allow the end user to select their "texture-swapping" mod of choice. I don't want to force a user to use the mod that I want them to use as that is obnoxious. -
[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]

This is just oversight on our behalf. A GitHub issue should be listed so it gets picked up at a later date.- 7,376 replies

[1.7.3] Graphics Enhancements Assembly (GEA)
Poodmund replied to Davian Lin's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
It seems you have copied all the terrain textures from Community Terrain Texture Pack (CTTP) to use in GEA, these being located in "GameData/GEATerrain/Terrain". This goes against the 'ethos' of utilizing these textures outside of the CTTP usage method as it could potentially mean that users may have all these textures loaded more than once in their install. Would you consider using CTTP as intended and removing it from the GEATerrain folder? https://github.com/Galileo88/Community-Terrain-Texture-Pack -

[KSP 1.5.*] Outer Planets Mod[2.2.1] [25 April 2018]
Poodmund replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Judging by this screenshot you are not installing any of the mods correctly that you have downloaded, hence why it is not working correctly. Please read and follow this thread for instructions as to how to install mods for KSP: Or alternatively if you are not that comfortable with dealing with low-technical manipulation of computer files and folders, use CKAN instead as it will automatically download and install mods for you: https://github.com/KSP-CKAN/CKAN/releases/download/v1.25.3/ckan.exe As far as your issue is concerned, this is no longer an issue with the OPM mod as it is an issue with you being able to install mods so, as a developer of this mod, I would ask you to refrain from posting to request any further support on this issue within this thread. I would like to direct you to the Technical Support (PC, modded installs) sub-forum where you can ask for general modded KSP support there to receive further help. Good luck!- 471 replies

[KSP 1.5.*] Outer Planets Mod[2.2.1] [25 April 2018]
Poodmund replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
The error message you received is due to you not using the correct version of Kopernicus in relation to your version of KSP. Please read the advice on which version of Kopernicus to install in the Kopernicus thread.- 471 replies

The OPM atmospheres are very long standing and... maybe... are in-line with the stock body atmospheres(?), however, rather than applying a realistic slant on them into the base OPM mod, it would be more suitable for this mod to patch the default atmospheres afterwards if necessary i.e. if you have this mod installed, realistic atmospheres are applied to all the bodies, stock and OPM.

[1.12] CommNet Antennas Extension / Info / Consumptor (2024-09-16)
Poodmund replied to flart's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I've just seen this latest update and it looks amazing... exactly what I've always wanted from that PartInfo window. -
The main things I'd like to see potentially resolved are: - Editing the Alpha values of the Scatterer atmo effects seems to not actually make the effect more transparent but actually just makes the body fade to a dark grey sphere. Is this intended? I've always thought that this behaviour is super weird as it is hard to implement Scatterer on a body that has a very thin atmosphere as you lower the Alpha setting a lot to reduce the Scatterer effect but then have to massively over-expose the effect to stop the body from become a dark-grey/black sphere. - Occluding the Scatterer horizon effect that appears behind terrain. When there are hills and mountains in the foreground, the Scatterer effect is rendered in front of them on the horizon which has always been an immersion breaker. - The dreaded refactoring. Scatterer does have a fairly beefy impact of frame rate but I have no idea how performance could be improved. This is an ever-ongoing chase I guess.

Awesome, thanks Blackrack. With regards to the 'plenty of ideas and lots of bugs on my list', I think someone before had mentioned Scrawks newest implmentation of the Bruneton's Atmospheric Scattering in Unity (https://github.com/Scrawk/Brunetons-Improved-Atmospheric-Scattering) as I think the current implementation is the older model(?).

[1.3.*-1.12.*] Pood's Skyboxes [v1.3.0] [17th Jan. 2019]
Poodmund replied to Poodmund's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
This is not an acceptable solution as a user may want to use a different texture mod than the one I select as a dependency and because these texture mods are quite rightly listed as incompatible with each other in CKAN it then would block them from using these Skybox mods. -
[1.3.*-1.12.*] Pood's Skyboxes [v1.3.0] [17th Jan. 2019]
Poodmund replied to Poodmund's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I am working on a solution to try and get this working with Sigma Replacements, DiRT, TextureReplacer and TextureReplacerReplaced. I have most of the configs written but am currently waiting on some mods to update to 1.5.* before release. Unfortunately CKAN cannot really handle the fact that all 4 dependencies are interchangeable but at least 1 is required so I may just have to list them as 'Recommendations' which is not perfect, however, thanks to TextureReplacers new ability to allow for textures to be located outside of the GameData/TextureReplacer folder I am now looking to support TextureReplacer again. Thank you, Shaw, for providing this functionality. -
[KSP 1.5.*] Outer Planets Mod[2.2.1] [25 April 2018]
Poodmund replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
You're running the incorrect versions of KSP and Kopernicus to be compatible with each other. Note the first three numbers in the Kopernicus version you downloaded: 1.5.1... that states it only functions on KSP version 1.5.1. please download a Kopernicus version 1.4.3-* or more suitably, update KSP to the lastest version, being 1.5.1 in this case.- 471 replies

I feel you're doing yourself injustice and good visual feedback like this representing the common thoughts of the KSP community is exactly the kind of feedback that should be present to the development team to kind of say, "here's my representation of the community feedback". I hope you reconsider; you're capsule looks great.

If you ever need any help, explaination or advice feel free to ping me or send me a message as I am always up for helping to better the CommNet experience for the end user. I've always wondered this too. Its a shame that it doesn't do the notification. -
[1.12] CommNet Antennas Extension / Info / Consumptor (2024-09-16)
Poodmund replied to flart's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
That's fine, when I get a chance I will pull my finger out and actually add some of the submitted form response antennas to the list. This weekend most likely. @flart, also you're plugin is brilliant. Would you consider releasing it as a separate, stand-alone distribution? If you are taking suggestions on what you can add to it I would like to suggest that possibly the 'Antenna Rating' and 'vs DSN Lvl#' rating figures should be dynamic based on the Antenna and DSN difficulty slider values in the Difficulty Settings options. At the moment they are hardcoded but these values should really change depending on the difficulty float modifiers. Secondly, it would be SUPER cool if the plugin could detect if Custom Barn Kit is installed, if so, list the number of DSN levels specfied as existing as a result of CBK and then listing the additional Lvl4, Lvl5 etc. DSN ratings against each antenna too. These are just pipeline dreams I wish that somebody with the ability could manage to pull off without affecting the ModuleDataTransmitter module on the antenna parts. -
Seems to work fine for me, here's an album with some screenshots of a Vanilla install with the GFX settings maxed, AA disabled but forced through the nVidia Control Panel with the settings shown. With a 980ti it was solid, maxing the 165Hz referesh rate of my monitor and it buttery smooth on camera rotation. https://imgur.com/a/eSYdgeU The best shot is the one with the rocket on the pad, you can see the VAB, Water Tower and Flagpole edges.

Yes this was with DX9 booting without any additional startup parameters in Fullscreen mode; the vanilla boot-up so to speak. In conclusion, it seems occur only when changing into a new scene with AA disabled via the Esc menu. EDIT: For reference, I play KSP with AA disabled because I get weird ghosting artifacts when using KSP's program-side AA so I disable it and force the AA hardware-side through nVidia's control panel specifically for the KSP executable. Changing the setting in the nVidia control panel makes no difference so it has to be something that Scatterer is doing with respect to KSP's AA settings.

axialTiltX and axialTiltZ... Axial Tilt is the technical name for this so that would make sense for identifiers. EDIT: ObliquityX and ObliquityZ would also make sense but I expect Axial Tilt is more recognisable.

http://ksp.cybutek.net/kspavc/Documents/README.htm As stated on the Wiki the KSP Version fields are optional and if the NetKAN metadata tried to pull the version info from a AVC .version file when there is none I would presume that CKAN would fall back to the default "ksp_version" value which is listed as "any". If you want to be safe, don't list the KSP Version info unecessarily in the .version file (it only causes you the hassle of updating it every 3 months now KSP is on a scheduled release cycle) but also get the CKAN guys to put the "ksp_version": "any", field into the NetKAN metadata for the mod.

i.e. If the body is spinning around its Y-Axis by default, can we specify the amount of inclination for the tilt in both the X and Z-Axis to have better control over how the body is oriented with respect to the 0-UT Epoch.
