  1. CSS Virginia is almost done. Gun deck, with gunpowder stores in the foreground. Firing a broadside. Now I just have to make it faster. Its top speed right now is 1.5 m/s and no ocean in the world would be big enough to contain the ship's turning circle.
  2. Hehe... Yeah... I was going to do this last night, but I had to put up Christmas decorations... Then I had to cook dinner... Then I had to go into town and buy some milk... Then I had to- well, you get the idea. Well, I'm finally getting around to it, at least it isn't the latest edition of SCF! Just like last time, I've chosen five craft that I believe are the best and most creative posts to the Spacecraft Exchange and ranked them. If your craft didn't make it, don't worry, this is only my opinion, it is not official in any way, and SCF goes up every week, so you'll always have another chance! In fact, I have a disclaimer to further reinforce this: Did that work? I'm still trying to figure out this new forum... Alright, on to the craft! 5: ACME Mark II, By Matagorda Space Program Well, it may not be the most spectacular rocket on the forums, but it still deserves a spot on this list because of its purpose. Although it may look like it should fly, this thing actually drives across the ground at super-high speeds to (attempt to) catch roadrunners! This is a good reminder of just how far outside the box you can think in Kerbal Space Program! 4: The Astraeus Orbiter, By Avera9eJoe I know what you're thinking, "What? It's just a shuttle, what is it doing on here?" Well, I like it, so it gets the #4 spot. I quite like the custom cockpit, and the addition of Rapier engines on the back is a very good idea. There are many smaller, less visible things I like about it too, like the radiators in the payload bay and the little pod on the end of the tailfin. Very nice work. 3: ...a little stocking filler from Cupcake Landers, By Cupcake... Ah, Cupcake... He was one of the people whose YouTube videos got me interested in KSP in the first place! This little flyer he's made is pretty neat. Who knew the service bay would make such a good cockpit? I must admit, I rarely download craft I see on the Forums, but I might just have to try this one out! 2: V2 Rocket Replica, By, Bubbadevlin I hope I spelled his name right... Look at this! Look at THIS!! It's a V2 with a proper paint job! And it's stock! That's crazy! Magnificent job, that's all I can say. Here, have the #2 spot on my list! 1: Look inside the spoiler! Well, I that's about it. If you have any problems with the craft chosen or their arrangement, please feel free to let me know. Again, sorry for being so late, but sometimes life gets in the way!
  3. Damn, that is one beautiful rocket. How far is its range?
  4. Alright, I'll do my best to wake up tomorrow... It will be my first full day of Christmas vacation, and I'm pretty high on adrenaline from watching Star Wars VII, so I will probably not be thinking straight while trying to choose the craft. Whatever... I've made the commitment, I'll deliver. I won't let you guys down, although I may possibly be somewhat biased towards any Star Wars themed craft...
  5. Mine eyes have seen the glory... Abrams has delivered! I will not reveal any secrets, but I will say that this movie can hold its own against any of the previous films, even the originals. There were a few things I have issues with (as with any movie), but overall, I enjoyed it very much.
  6. So... Paddle steamers are a thing now? Time to build myself an 1800s era Mississippi steamboat!
  7. Isn't that flying Milenium Falcon quadcopter only about a hundred bucks? http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00U7EXH72/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1450289338&sr=8-1&keywords=millennium+falcon+drone&pi=SY200_QL40&dpPl=1&dpID=41kWB4Z4PTL&ref=plSrch I'm not really sure how durable it is, but it's a flying Milenium Falcon, that's enough for me to buy it!
  8. Wait, that's a test flight? How did you get the bomber formation in?
  9. Good job with those airbrakes! Its too bad The Phantom Menace was a failure, because podracers are cool as hell.
  10. I usually try to make all of my craft stock unless the situation dictates otherwise. I've seen many people make working turrets for tanks, so I know it's possible. I would like to avoid IR if I can help it.
  11. Yeah, what he said. Enough about the name though, I don't want to derail this thread. I will have to make my replica a little different. Virginia's rounded ends are very difficult to do, and they also had some guns facing forward and aft, which I won't add because it will be too hard. I think I can make it so Kerbals can walk around the gun deck and possibly even climb into the pilothouse. I expect USS Monitor to be easier to do, it has a boxier hull, less guns, and none of those dammed rounded edges like Virginia has. The biggest problem will be getting the turret to rotate, I've never tried building a bearing before.
  12. *clears throat* Well... Yes and no. People often call it the CSS Merrimack, but that isn't exactly correct. The ship was named Merrimack before it was captured by Confederate forces at the Norfolk Naval Yard. The Confederate Navy converted it into an ironclad and rechristened it CSS Virginia. Some people may not care about technicalities such as this, but I do. The American Civil War is one of my favorite time periods in US history, and I can't stand it when I see people accidentally state an erroneous fact. If the Virginia (I will be calling it by its real name) turns out well, and if I can remain committed and not lose focus on this, I plan to try and build the USS Monitor as well. That turret bearing is going to be hard though...
  13. I've got it this week, right? My computer is fixed, so I think I can do it as of right now, but I will be busy this week because of finals and preparations for Christmas, and Star Wars VII. If I find I am unable to do it because of any of these things, I will let MRS know, but I think I'm good to go.
  14. I'm pretty sure it's because Navy has different standards for their team than Army has for theirs, so they usually get bigger and better players, resulting in them steamrolling Army year after year. Navy seems to have done better than they normally do anyway, I think they were actually ranked this year.
  15. I still play, but my computer has been in the shop lately, and I also bought Medieval II: Total War right before it broke, so that's been taking up most of my time.
  16. Well, I think that old part welding mod may still work, you might want to try that.
  17. Well, I would assess my own skill at building surface vessels as inadequate, but today is your lucky day nevertheless, because I happen to know of a project being undertaken to replicate WWII vehicles. One of the pieces is a very nice looking Cleveland class cruiser. It's stock, although a variant with BD armory is also available. 18. Truth be told, I almost completely forgot about this ability. I would love to have a print of my U-boat or Fokker triplane (shameless plugs: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/122003-das-boot-u-boat-with-full-interior-new-low-parts-version/, http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/122224-fokker-dri-triplane-the-red-barons-ride/), but I have many desires, and so little money to spend it on, and many things I want/need are more important to me than having a 3D print of a KSP craft to set on my dresser or desk. Of course, if I wanted to, I could possibly use my school's 3D printers to make myself a really low quality version, but it wouldn't be in color, and would probably break easily, and would not have a lot of detail, and... Yeah, that's not a good idea...
  19. Nice! I remember the original one you made back in the day, when I was still a lurker... Wow, has it been so long since that was was released?
  20. What type of naval vessel do you want? A surface ship or a submarine? A battleship or research vessel? Amphibious or conventional?
  21. Yep, I thought so. I don't think the extension part needs a hatch or crew capacity either. It should contain monopropellant and electric charge, and maybe some life support (if the proper mods are installed. Basically, it should increase the station's lifespan and boost the amount of time Kerbals can spend aboard before running out of consumables. Or, if could be an upgrade to the Salyut 1/4 engine, with more fuel and maybe higher thrust. I don't know if the Mir engines ever got their thrust buffed from 1.0KN, but if they haven't, they should be made so that two of them will at least equal the Salyut 1 engine. Huh, I just used an entire paragraph to tell you to ditch the hatch and make it a utility compartment.
  22. Hang on... Isn't the Salyut airlock in the front docking compartment? Mir and Zvezda are similar, except the airlock is actually in the mode on the front. Before Kvant-2 was added to Mir (Or Pirs to the ISS), EVAs were done through the node hatch. Maybe... Just maybe... Perhaps you could give the node a hatch and crew capacity? I will check my Soyuz Owner's Workshop Manual, I seem to remember it having good info on Salyut hardware.
  23. Fighter escorts would often fly higher up and slightly behind the bombers, weaving back and forth so that the bombers could fly at their max speed, and the extra altitude of the fighters allowed them to dive on any attackers (BoomNZoom in War Thunder). But yeah, close formations like that look cool as hell. Now do it with two fighters and a bomber!
