http://youtu.be/J8f7oKeMstQ It's today. Advance warning, addiction is quite common.

These are nice parts, very nice, indeed. However, you call this an add-on for Tantares, but I can't see any reason to get both this mod and Tantares, all the parts in this mod appear to be either direct copies or very similar recreations of Tantares parts. Forgive me if I sound rude or condescending, this is simply my opinion.

U-boat=860 parts Highest Achieved Speed=0.5m/s Practical Uses= none, really. Well, I guess you can make cool screenshots and do some role play, but the FPS is so low you probably wouldn't want to. -
Thanks! I'm glad to see you like it! I have plans for a few different future variants to be released. Low Part Count- This one will have the interior removed or minimalists for people that don't have so great of a computer. I know how bad it feels when your computer can barely run stock KSP. Dive Capable- I plan to use a mod that adds some sort of ballast tank to the game to submerge the boat. Let me know which one I ought to use. Better Buoyancy may come into play here as well. Welded-I think the UbiZor welding mod still works in 1.0, so I think I can try and weld some parts together to minimize the part count. BDA Equipped- I don't think BDA has torpedoes, but I can probably replace the stock deck gun and flak gun with BDA weapons. I may even be able to rig up some makeshift fish with Air-to-Ground missiles.

Making Helicopters
pTrevTrevs replied to Sharkman Briton's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
You may think that engines on a helicopter provide forward propulsion, but in reality all they do is turn the transmission for the rotors. Of course, Sikorsky has been working on some BadS helicopters that use a pusher propeller and two counterrotating main rotors. Those things can get some speed! -
I click on War Thunder to launch it, and I can see that Steam shows me as playing War Thunder. The cursor even changes to the spinning circle/donut of doom, but the game doesn't launch. The launcher doesn't even appear. I have done a little digging and think it could possibly be my firewall blocking the game, but I'm really not sure.
-
Would like to join, but War Thunder is still broken. I think it may be an issue with my firewall.

It's been cloudy here for the last four lunar eclipses. I haven't been able to see a real one since I was a kid.

I present... My magnum opus!! I have created a replica World War II U-Boat with a complete interior. It's part count if around 860, and, being a stock submarine, can't move faster than a snail's pace, but if you need a U-boat for a film, this is for you. The interior is based on that from the game Silent Hunter 5, as well as a few books I have. I have based the boat on a Type VII U-Boat, but it does bear a resemblance to the Type IX. Really, it's a generic "represent-all" ship, which suits me fine. You want more pictures? Of course you do! Look upon the glory of the Kreigsmarine, look and be amazed!!! Jeb and Bill on lookout duty during a war patrol. No ships in sight, because if I tried to put any nearby, my computer would crash, and would take a while to recover. The U-Boat features an 8.8cm deck gun for sinking isolated, unarmed merchant ships. It won't do any good against warships, but you can sink ships without wasting precious torpedoes. For defense against aircraft, a flak gun has been mounted behind the conning tower. Here comes the interior, brace yourself, it's gonna be cool! The control room features the observation periscope, navigation map, depth gauge, many other nameless instruments, and the ladder to the deck. Quite obviously, the submarine is controlled from here. The Fore Torpedo Room features four torpedo tubes (hehe, funny), loading racks, and two spares. Most shots are fired from this room, as the rear room is mainly for emergencies. Fore Quarters is where officers berth. The captain's bed is on the left. Due to lack of space, most crewmen have to "hot rack", which means they share a bunk with someone else. When one man goes on duty, the person he relieves takes his bunk. Such is the life of the Sea Wolves. The Radio Room is a small cubicle in the Fore Quarters. Messages to other ships/Berlin can be made from here, and enemy ships can be tracked on radar. Behind the Control Room, the aft quarters is where enlisted men berth. The galley is in the back, where food is prepared for the crew. The Diesel Engine Room houses two engines to propel the boat while surfaced. Careful, these engines have no safety guards, engineers commonly lose fingers from their engines. In the back, electric motors are housed for underwater propulsion. They are less powerful then the diesels, but also make much less noise and produce no exhuast, handy for evading enemy sonar/ASDIC. Also, you know, you can't have exhaust underwater. In the very back, a single torpedo tube allows the boat to attack pursuers, or to get a quick shot off without having to turn the whole sub. "BATTLE STATIONS!! Smoke on the horizon! Prepare to dive!!" "Take us down, Bill, fifty meters!" I could sound battle stations all day long, it's so cool to see the red lights come on! The Kriegsmarine is always looking for crafty submariners to raid enemy merchant ships, do you have what it takes? DOWNLOAD HERE NEW!!! Since many people can't run this on their computer, I've added a version without an interior to reduce part count. DOWNLOAD LOW PARTS VERSION Remember to leave a comment, some rep if you enjoyed, and any suggestions for improvement will be appreciated! Enjoy!

Do you have the time Grandad?
pTrevTrevs replied to FlipNascar's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
I've always wondered why grandfather clocks have pendulums. I'm pretty sure that the pendulum is what turns the cogs and runs the clock, but yours obviously doesn't do that... -
Farewell, good sir. FASA was one of the first mods I tried out and it was great,m. Hopefully it's new maintainer (NathanKrell, right?) will be able to match your level of quality.

Bah, every one of the lunar eclipses in this tetrad have been accompanied by persistent cloud cover over my area. Every single one. I feel like the heavens have cheated me. EDIT: Tried to take a picture to help vent my frustration, but the clouds make it so dark outside that the only thing you could see would be the streetlamps.

Well... Kerbinside's seaplane buoys aren't working for the U-Boat, whenever I try to launch from one, the boat is immediately teleported to the bottom of the ocean, where most of it explodes. Can someone tell me how to use Hyperedit to place it in water? It doesn't really matter where, as long as it's the ocean, or even a river mouth. -
Do it.

War Thunder - Screenshots and Discussion thread!
pTrevTrevs replied to Columbia's topic in The Lounge
Of course, that's the first thing I tried. It's been a while since it stopped working, I'm going to try and reinstall the game, maybe a recent patch has fixed whatever is wrong with it. I played with tanks some, but mostly aircraft. Face it, Aircraft > Tanks. -
The texture needs some work, it doesn't really look like Gemini, but the model looks good. I think the heatshield ought to be integrated into the capsule. Having it separate would cause part bloat, and would involve adding a large and obstructive fairing, which would ruin the outline of the craft.

Replica Launchers [New Atlas V and Proton for 1.0.4]
pTrevTrevs replied to Kurotenshi's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Ah, ok. I think I should try building a series of launchers with asymmetrical boosters.
