NASA's Manned Spacecraft (High Detail Replicas)
pTrevTrevs replied to clivman's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Why don't you add a Tweakscale config tithe 3.75 meter faring base? I don't know how to do it myself, but I know it can be done. -
I realized after uploading the craft that the elevators were not set properly, but I haven't experienced any wobble on the tail. I realize the wings were straight, but I used the slanted ailerons because the straight ones caused Z-fighting and looked ugly. I'm reasonably certain that having ailerons on all three wings is what makes the plane so maneuverable. Thanks for the input, by the way.

4/10/15 Spacecraft Friday: The Atmospheric Edition
pTrevTrevs replied to YargJay9991's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Oh wow, two of my craft featured in one week! I honestly didn't expect the Fokker to make it. Thanks, man! -
You know, that's a nice render. If you have the time, would you be willing to make one for my Fokker triplane? I have no skill in arts such as this. Oh yeah, it's a neat plane too, I'd say your wings need some work, they look too square, and the cockpit looks strange. The P-51 was known for its bubble canopy, so if you lowered that tailpiece a little to expose the back of the cockpit, it might look better.

I hate to sound rude, but what is the point of putting something on the Spacecraft Exchange if you don't give us any pictures or a link to download it? We don't want to read a list of mods that the craft uses, we want to see what it looks like! We want to be able to download it to fly it for ourselves! Can you please add some pictures and a DL? It's a common custom to do so.

I'm going to assume you're referring to the Fokker Eindecker, since the Fokker Scourge is really a period of time, not an airplane. No way man, I didn't even know what the Fokker Eindecker was until last year, but I've known of the Dr.I for quite a long time. Also, if you search "Fokker" on Google, you get tons of pictures of the Dr.I and pretty much no pictures for the Eindecker. On the Sopwith Camel, however, I'm inclined to agree with you. It's definitely the most famous Allied plane, and I can't really tell which plane is more famous. But no need to start an argument, download the craft, fly it, have fun. It's really fun to fly!

Considering that my user title reads "Vintage Plane Addict" and my avatar is a Fokker Triplane, I think it would be in order for me to actually make a vintage plane every now and then. I also thought that since I haven't yet made the very plane displayed in my avatar, I might want to get around to doing that. I've learned several lessons since my last powered biplane, and because of that, this plane is of the finest quality. With extremely high maneuverability and a speed of 124 m/s in level flight, the Fokker Dr.I is sure to please. It is rated for 7,000 meters ASL, and it's part count comes in at only 120 parts. The Fokker Dr.I is most famously known as the last aircraft flown by Manfred von Richthofen, the Red Baron. Richtofen achieved 19 kills in his Fokker, which was painted all red. He was also killed in a Fokker, although no one knows for sure who killed him. Today, the Fokker Triplane is arguably the most famous aircraft from World War I, although is was pulled from service in July 1918 due to a series of mysterious failures of the upper wing. The following are photos from one of the test flights of the plane. Altitude, maneuverability, speed, endurance, and stability were all tested to the fullest to provide a better, more capable airplane. Photograph of Jebediah von Kerman, the "Orange Baron", and his Fokker Dr.I after returning from a sortie over the Western Front. This plane will be a blast to fly and its low-ish part count means almost anyone can enjoy it! DOWNLOAD HERE As always, let me know what you think, rep if you enjoyed, and feel free to post any pictures of your own flights here!

[11/26/15 Update] Say Hello to the Light-Green Group!
pTrevTrevs replied to Endersmens's topic in Kerbal Network
Well, since you've updated the list, I've gained two more light green bars. This new list is going to become obsolete quite quickly... -

Well done, that is a huge Saturn V that deserves respect. -
You won't make a Dragon for Tantares? Fine! I'll do it myself!

HAHA!! It worked! War Thunder appears to be operational again! I owe you one, Kinglet. -
5/10 Would score higher if you removed the K in the word monkey.

totm june 2018 Work-in-Progress [WIP] Design Thread
pTrevTrevs replied to GusTurbo's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Yeah, that sounds cool, I'd better go ahead and get the low parts U-boat done. -
I think what he means is you can make a detailed interior with 150 parts, but not one quite as grandiose as this. There are plenty of places I could have scrimped on detail, but didn't. I probably could have replaced the structural plates in the floor with large wing segments to save on parts, removed a few instruments in the control room, etc.

Yeah, Hyperedit is your best bet. KerbinSide launch sites may work for you, but they gave me weird problems. If you want to go stock, you can strap wheels on it and drive it down to the water, but good luck safely launching it! I'll take a look at it. Torpedoes: I'm not so worried about how to make the torpedo itself, the problem is going to be building tubes for it. I've already just about maxed out my computer's max capabilities when I try to run this craft, and adding tubes without ruining the look of the nose will be difficult. Danke schön, danke schön! Thanks, the low parts and welded parts versions will be for you. Indeed. Many techniques I found on the aesthetics thread or developed them from similar techniques found there. I think the radiator bunk is my own design, as is the periscope eyepiece. The top of the periscope (the retractable drill) was stolen... I mean... Uh... Borrowed, yeah, borrowed, from Azimech and his yellow submarine.

What is your favourite sci-fi/irl spacecraft, and why?
pTrevTrevs replied to Asmosdeus's topic in The Lounge
Real Life: Hmm, hard to choose, Dragon V1 is cool, but so is Soyuz, and Salyut, and Apollo... Hang on, I need a few weeks to think of this... Sci-Fi: USS Enterprise-D and Slave I are both cool -
7/10 Both kinds? Last I checked there were four kinds; chemical engineers, electrical engineers, civil engineers, and mechanical engineers, with the various subtypes all falling into one of those four... But hey, my teacher was only Vice President of a major engineering corporation, what does he know?

I actually really hope someone tries to do something with my boat, like make a cool film or series or photographs or something. It would at least assure me that I didn't waste a few weeks of my life designing, testing, and releasing a giant, fairly useless hunk o' junk.
