  1. Perhaps, but would the pros outweigh the costs? In science mode and sandbox, the actual monetary cost doesn't matter though.
  2. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/12384-PART-0-90-Anatid-Robotics-MuMech-MechJeb-Autopilot-v2-4-2
  3. I haven't had a chance to play around with them in the current game yet because the tech isn't unlocked for the FTT parts. I know I could go play around in sandbox, but hey.
  4. No wait, isn't x64 actually 32 bit and the x86 actually 64 bit? I know the number doesn't quite add up for the x86, but I thought that's how it works? Maybe we should ask the author of ATM for clarification. Though if anything, how come the author of ATM doesn't have that fact documented on the OP of the thread for it?
  5. Yeah, theres currently a bug with all of the HX parts where they'll be like that. :/ It's due to a problem with the Virgin Kalactic plugin and I have absolutely no idea when that'll be fixed.
  6. Wait, so you're saying that if I'm using a 64 bit OS and am running the 32 bit KSP, I should actually get the x64-aggressive release? Because I'm using the x86-aggressive release since I thought I needed the one for the OS.
  7. Oh My mistake, the fan I'm talking about is actually this one (and this is the hovercraft that I was talking about): It's one of the new parts that Allista released in her Hangar mod recently. Somehow I thought it came from this one, sorry for the confusion. I also saw some other hoverfan engines while looking around in sandbox, those might have been the ones that you meant. EDIT: No wait, the ones that I saw are actually RoverDudes from the Freight Transport Technologies mod.
  8. Could someone help explain the lots of crashes that I've been having recently? They often times happen when changing scenes, but they also happen for no particular reason at all. Windows 8.1 64x KSP version 0.90 32x
  9. Do you have two SAS close together or more than one SAS on your probe+rocket? I've noticed that on a lightweight rocket with more than one SAS on it, turning off the other SAS modules stops the vibrating. It'll also happen when you have it on hold position.
  10. Yeah, from those that I did get help on or for similar ones, it's either a memory leak, Unity having a brainfart, or both.
  11. I've been getting the same crash stuff as well, and a lot. I've posted several about crashes, but people seem to sort of ignore them in general, or nobody has a clue. In fact, I'm getting so ignored that despite the fact that I've been having LOTS of crashes recently and would love to know why the heck it's crashing, I've decided to use alt+12 to look out for exceptions.
  12. Wait, I've never heard anything about the new version having reentry heating? As for the aerocapture, yeah it hasn't been performed because the only craft that would be in a position to actually do those are fragile probes.
  13. Sounds like a tweakscale specific problem if anything, so you should ask in the thread for it.
  14. Would you call slowing down the system all of a sudden and needing a restart to fix it, an OS level problem? I have no idea why simply closing the game doesn't clear it and a restart is needed. And that would explain why I sometimes see NVIDIA have a crash and recovery shortly before the game spazzes out.
  15. Hm, try without KJR? Although it's supposed to PREVENT stuff like that.
  16. What about the idea for the reverse mode on the hover fan? I'm pretty sure you guessed what I was doing for propulsion on the hovercraft, heh. Despite using elevons on the fans, it was still kind of hard to control (mainly because fans were at the middle of a longish craft), so I put a tail (and fin) on it, and then some SAS to assist with the turning. BTW, regarding those backwards wheels and stuff, I actually put the hover fans on backwards initially because I thought the little aerodynamic cone bit was supposed to face forwards. Maybe put a little arrow on that? Just giving some feedback on that one.
  17. Hm, when I tried launching the hovercraft ship that I created which has six repulsorlifts on it plus two of those hovercraft fans placed sideways, it started rotating clockwise for no reason. I also have KJR, which may have something to do with that, I'll check that. Also, crash that may or may not be related to this mod which I had when trying to go back to SPH to fix things. http://sta.sh/014yn5g0vsjw Edit: Yep, it was KJR, and with it off, I can see what might have been producing that phantom torque in the first place. Though it's possible that KJR might not be directly responsible. Edit2: Is it me or does the launchpad have a VERY slight slope towards the VAB? And the runway is slightly curved I think. Anyhow, I was able to test it on the grassy area of KSC and no phanton torque. Edit3: Idea: Have the hover fan have a reverse mode, so as to act as a brake. Or if you want to descend REALLY fast.
  18. I know basically nothing about modding in KSP anyway, so I wouldn't be able to contribute unless I hit a bug in the main one by reporting it. Also, you should post a link of that tutorial or overview video I saw back a couple pages, on the OP. I saw it somewhere in this thread and am trying to find it. Last ten pages I think? Not real far back. Edit: Found the one I meant, post 2222, page 223 if you're using default forum settings. Edit2: I actually wanted to look at that for info on how to operate the fan engines, but they're not in that video.
  19. Github is highly NOT reccommended then for this, for non-testers anyway.
  20. Showing a screenshot of the ship would probably help. There are ways of helping to stabilize that, like adding fins/winglets and putting a fairing on the top of your rocket, or even add SRBs to ram your way out of the atmosphere. As I understand it, it's happening because the front end of your rocket is too light, though having an engine with a somewhat low TWR can also contribute to the problem. Of course though, it's possible that you're doing the gravity turn wrong or too fast.
  21. Is there a github so that I can get the latest version? Or do you not recommend doing that?
  22. Probably a nuke engine strapped to a huge tank and the Isp is very low. Though I'm curious here as well.
  23. Depends on whether you're talking about the SCANsat scanning stuff or the rest. For the rest of them, it's either instant or a few seconds while the animation is going. Same for the micrometeor array, despite the name of the tech, it's instant like every other experiment which doesn't have a short animation running before the results pop up. - - - Updated - - - Uh, are we talking about the same experiment? I don't even need to wait for it to produce results, though I open it anyway once I get into space.
