If Master Chief did it, so can Kerbals.

Seems to be better as a team game because you can\'t really heal yourself

[Stock 0.16] 3-Kerbal Lander "OrionX1"
deadshot462 replied to deadshot462's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Wow that\'s a lot of downloads lol, and thanks for the comments. Glad you guys liked the lander! Yeah, the big middle tank is for a trans-lunar insertion burn. It\'s tough to steer but I think it\'s something that will be fixed. Once the AP reaches the moon, I disconnect the big tank so it crashes on the surface of the mun. -
Started a stream channel at Twitch. Been getting great feedback and people seem to enjoy it so I\'ll keep going. At least once during every session one new person says 'Wow this game looks cool I\'m going to buy the full version!' Here\'s a link that you\'re welcome to join and share with others: http://www.twitch.tv/deadshot462 I\'m streaming KSP mostly over weekends and sometimes over weeknights (US central time)

[stock 0.16] 3-kerbal Mun/Minmus lander: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=16657.0

Well 0.16 has been awesome, landing the new pod on the moons is quite the challenge, but here is the ship that can do it: [stock 0.16] The OrionX1 - The lander that can reach Mun or Minmus with fuel to spare: Features: -Two sets of boosters to get out of Kerbin\'s atmosphere, with a departure stage ready to boost you to your next destination -The lander is split into a descent and ascent stage like the Apollo LM. -The lander\'s ascent stage can be used as an escape stage during a disastrous lift-off if necessary Ready for lift-off, two sets of boosters to get out of the atmosphere Landed on Mun! Landed on Minmus! Ascent stage lift-off back to Kerbin Enjoy!

(Done during experimentals, so not the first official EVA I suppose )

Excalibur that jeep is insane, it\'s going to be hilarious to see a Kerbal standing next to that thing.

0.16 is in feature lock so no new features will be added. SQUAD makes their own schedule about what updates will be worked on, there is not much users can do to impact their scheduling. Your question about what people would like to see is pretty much what the 'Dev Development' and 'Suggestions' boards are for: People post what they think would be a good feature, and that being something that they obviously want in the game. Before making a new thread in the Suggestions forum, please search and make sure it hasn\'t already been posted.

Hardcore mission mode, for absolute geeks only
deadshot462 replied to togfox's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Map view should not be allowed. Imagine having the same feeling as Apollo 8, wondering if they were going to hit the moon or get swung out into space.. -
So.. just to recap (spoilers inside)
deadshot462 replied to Richy teh space man's topic in KSP1 Discussion
The pyramid was just a VAB part that was put on a rocket engine. It wasn\'t scenery or a building I don\'t think Nova ever released the pyramid though. Fooled me with that desert picture. -
Forgotten astronaut, huh?? (&Apollo 12)
deadshot462 replied to VincentMcConnell's topic in The Lounge
I think pretty much every astronaut after Apollo 11 is kind of forgotten because most people don\'t remember their names, or even know how many more Apollo missions landed on the Mun. This is interesting because every consequent Apollo mission just got more challenging than the last, but people only really remember the first landing. Myself included, for a while I had no idea Apollo 12 landed within walking distance of a 2-year old probe. That\'s crazy amazing and it\'s almost a little known fact to the general public. -
Not much of a thread here, and 'Off Topic' is for most things not related to KSP.

Would be cool if you could do this in KSP.. I think this may be the only goal people would have for a while lol. You can however do that in this game: http://universesandbox.com/ It\'s really cool, and you can pretty much do what you described by sending small asterorids/moons/planets to collide against other celestial bodies and see how it affects their trajectories/orbits

My most common mistake is to not put a decoupler between my capsule and the rest of my return ship. I then have to land with a parachute and rocket engines firing, hoping that will overcome the weight as I try to land in one piece..

This program is amazing. I hope they add Orbiter/KSP mechanics in the future
-
Congratz. That rover sceenshot looks cool, and I like the fact that you put a camera on the top like the real MER
-
Sabre, the secret space program dismissed by three Kerbal administrations as preposterous rumor. Sounds appropriate lol. May try this challenge out later, big Halo fan.
-
Nice timing lol, I\'ll give this mod a try. Let\'s see how this EVA handles the mun surface EDIT: I just tried this out, really cool! The RCS works fine with keyboard, but is there a way you can make it work with the bindings from a joystick? Great work so far though!

Here\'s my Mun rover vid: Haven\'t made many videos, but got a few ideas for when EVA\'s come out

The fan base and support gets bigger by the week. I think the staff has posted multiple stats about how the forums grew exponentially since they opened up last year. SQUAD seems to have just kicked it into even higher gear by the fact that they started a new blog with all new other things coming up. Since KSP started, it seems SQUAD\'s confidence has only gone up and doesn\'t see a break coming up any time soon. Even if you only played the full version for 1 week, it will be worth the price as you\'ll probably have already put more hours into it than any other game of the same price.

How did Nasa make Curiosity curve like that?
deadshot462 replied to hak8or's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Interesting fact: When the Curiosity rover was launched, its trajectory was aimed to miss Mars. This way, the discarded booster misses and doesn\'t contaminate Mars, then the Curiosity\'s capsule can correct its course (with its own set of small engines) to be the only part of the entire rocket that actually gets to Mars.
