Realism Overhaul Discussion Thread
Mad Rocket Scientist replied to NathanKell's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Hey, what random failure mod do you guys suggest for RO/RSS? Dangit is out because it doesn't support procedural parts or FAR. -
Nice work! I'll have to try a "pedal powered" plane.

The Number War: Count to 100 or -100

You whippersnappers who started in .25 don't remember the good ol days of .23.5. Ah, when mk3 and mk2 parts were so ugly that your eyes burned to look at them, and there were only two control surfaces (discounting winglets). When there were only three modular wings, and one of them didn't match the others. When there was only two modes to play, and no difficulty settings. When you could drop a couple of jumbo-64s on the space center with no ill effects. Ahh, those were the days.

@ZooNamedGames, @Dman979 A couple questions about the 40t lifter: The second stage has only 2 engine starts, leaving only only one after getting into orbit--is this okay? The second stage only has batteries for 1 day, 20 minutes of flight time--I'll make a solar pack, but it has to fit into the fairing, subtracting from the payload weight and mass--is that okay? During ascent, two of the engines need to throttled by hand, by right-clicking on them. It's not very hard, and doesn't need to be very precisely timed or anything--is that okay? Is a engine out capability needed? It can just make it into a elliptical orbit orbit with a 40.02 ton payload--is that okay? How large should the fairing be able to be? What failure mod are you using? I want to test my lifter with it. Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions!

He should borrow Bill's space program simulator. Then.... META graphic novels! "Steal only fuel and science, leave only slowly drifting wreckage"

UltraWide 21:9 monitors to play KSP?
Mad Rocket Scientist replied to hellblazer's topic in The Lounge
The biggest problem with a widescreen monitor (in my mind) is that most stuff in KSP is vertical, like rockets. I use a 1280 X 1024 monitor, which is very nice in the VAB. However, you could possibly rotate the monitor 90 degrees. -
I picked: Black and white checkered stripes (Makes the ship go faster!) Atomic torchship Big ol' aerodynamic fins, Wernher von Braun style. Belly-lander Steampunk

I knew my felt hat was looking at me funny recently... The object above you will fall right after you leave the room you're (probably) in.
