complain about how poor I am please... I could use it
-
It's funny. I can lucid dream to the cows come home, but for me, telepathy is hard, flying is harder, and I usually have to kill something.... I don't know, but I'll jump from a rock, and just kinda land... However waking is not an issue. I'll use it as an abort-mission of sorts, when things get out of hand.

As you may already know, Kerbal Stuff has closed down. The domain is no more. This doesn't mean that the content has vanished, though, because a site called Spacedock.info has taken all the code and put it on themselves to host, run, and display all that Kerbalstuff once had. This isn't an old-friend-died-now-replaced-too-soon type deal, it's a group that picked up the pieces left behind by someone who no longer wanted to devote his time and effort to the mod site. He let them take it, and now that's what it is. If you ask me, this isn't a bad thing. It allows all the old and abandoned mods to get cleared out, and new ones to take their place. It's a fresh start for the community. It's the same, yet new. It's up to you and me to treat it like KSP community family, so let's give it a warm welcome: SpaceDock.info

[1.0.4] Stock Clamshell Fairings (June 1)
AlextheBodacious replied to xEvilReeperx's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Since Kerbalstuff has died, and Spacedock.info has replaced it, you'll need to update it there... Just spreading the word. I really care about this mod, and want others to see it too. -
Kerbal Stuff, just because you don't hear compliments is because the happy users are being happy just downloading the files! Everyone loves you, they just aren't good at showing it!

What if it were vertical? If it went up, instead of in? It would, for a second, be a sort of... hula hoop?

I'm an avid model rocket builder, but hate those little pre-assembled kits. I like to figure out systems and schematics on my own, how it will jettison spent boosters, what type of fuel for ignition. I guess you could say I'm the real KSP engineer. I have all these rockets and countless more planned, but no one to conceptualize these with. I'm looking for some sort of place where I can talk about the coring or the body material, or someone to do this with. So, does anyone here like building actual, civilian rockets? Are there those that like the real-life version of KSP and can, in fact, be bothered to strive for it?

help with 0.0.813 demo
AlextheBodacious replied to Kerbtastic21's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Ok, you've intrigued me. Now I have to build something. Edit: Wings aren't things in the demo. Sorry. But there's a free KSP-esque (They end up mentioning KSP in the most subtle of ways) game, called When Pigs Fly. It's spaceplanes, but no space. That said, honestly, space shuttles are worthless in KSP in general, because you can't recover anything. A rocket is much, much better. I will still build anything, and if parts in game match parts in demo, it'll work for you. But, if you feel like it, there's actually the ability to download full free versions 100% legal online... on these very forums! Squad ALLOWS this! Note: They are OLD. Literally the first public releases. It's your choice. ~~~~~~Here will be demo file~~~~~ -
it could be worse, you could be

The ends justify the means, so as long as it ends up good...

Have you been in the settings page, ever, at all?

Or, for the ENTIRE SYSTEM, check out Kerbal Maps

[SHOWCASE] Bring out your LANDERS!!
AlextheBodacious replied to Captain Sierra's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Also, if the original Mun Lander is too pricey/advanced, there's this, the Cheap-o V, ready to take you munward for a fraction of a billion dollars. While pictures of it landing in the day side of the Mun do not exist yet, it has been thoroughly tested and can reach the Mun, turn around and go home, without refueling once. -
[Showcase] Post your Bases
AlextheBodacious replied to Rhyunix's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Aptly named "Mun Base 1," this little outpost is expected to double in size with the arrival of several new modules, including a lab, ISRU, and Ore container. It features a surface crew recovery pod, a mun-car, a flag, and kerbals. Its current modules are a command node, a hab, a hub, 2 sets of solar panel modules, a fuel reservoir, and the base of a radio tower. -
it was something they found dumpster diving

This game, A Dark Room, has you starting off with equivically sioux teepees, and the you find an actual starship... almost perfectly what you described.

dealing with debris
AlextheBodacious replied to Ketatrypt's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
If you go to settings, on the first page, near the bottom, is a slider, "Max Persistent Debris" and if you drop this to the minimum, open your game, go back, and bring it up again, all debris will be cleared. -
What is the best space station desing?
AlextheBodacious replied to Gauga159's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Ok, first of it's possible to use the claw, which means it can be one part. Command parts might as well be the only parts, and they can come with their own (limited) power supply. Regular fuel is not necessary... unless you're talking about its trip to orbit, and that's the same for the engine. RCS thrusters aren't necessary, and I can prove it (I didn't know how to translate with them on my first station, which was a big one indeed). All this can be brought on a ferry of sorts if you want to be technical about it, so you really can minimize the total part count to as little as 3 for an entire multi-module station. -
I know, I've been... but then again all my experience with solar panels is them breaking unbelievably easily.
