  3. @Herrkurtsince you said that you have all the mods updated to latest versions and you are using the VSR version of the RL10 engine then you must downgrade VSR to version 1.9.2. BTW, there is absolutely no need to use structural parts and extra decouplers for the interstages and the fairing bases. These parts already include decouplers. Also, it has not enough DV even without a payload (edit: scratch that. KER is being stupid again...) PSA: If you are using Ven Stock Revamp (versions 1.9.3 and 1.9.4) make sure to disable any engine shrouds in the editor (right - click the engine and disable any shroud option that you will find). This will take care of some of the FAR - VSR engines incompatibilities.

  6. @Trigger1112assuming that the MM patch that you are using is that one: @PART[*]:HAS[@MODULE[ModuleAvionics]]:FINAL { !MODULE[ModuleAvionics]{} } then it should be OK. Avionics are a loose "game - play" emulation of the, initially, electromechanical flight computers and later the analog/digital ones. I say loose because FCs are limited not by the mass of the launch vehicles but by their accuracy and their general abilities (launch into a specific azimuth, insert a payload within a specific LAN range, adjust for under/over performance by a previous stage). Tonnage, along with the stock SAS tiers, make up for these for now. Better approximations will replace them in the future.

  8. @_Krieger_the F-1 RealPlume prefab does not include smoke but FASA uses the Kerolox - Lower prefab that includes smoke.
  9. @Arrowstari may sound stupid but how do i setup/use the "Launch Trajectory Analysis" tool? Currently i have it as unavailable (greyed - out). Or, if it helps, how can i calculate easily direct - ascent windows and trajectories?
  10. @D3R_APPL3additionally, if you don't have mods that create Toolbar buttons for these scenes then Toolbar will hide itself to reduce screen clutter (and because it is pointless).

U-2 (in other words one of the most difficult airplanes in handling ever made): you cannot go too fast or too slow, you can land only in a windless day with only two center wheels (the outer wing wheels fall off after takeoff) and you have to pretty much stall it to do so. Also, you cannot see the runway from inside the cockpit and instead you have to rely on callouts by external observators (the cars). Yep, sounds like an easy thing to do...

  13. @gilflothis is a bug regarding EVE and stock gameobject layers for the lights. You should see it happen even in a normal launch (before Hyperediting).

  15. @N70for future reference: The last two values are adjusting the size of the flare and the flare "spikes" (godrays) respectively. For bigger solar system scales these values should be decreased. For example: stock needs "0.85" and "1.0" but with RSS (approximately scaled 10 times over stock) it needs "0.085" and "0.1" (a factor of 10 to both values). For 6.4 rescales you can interpolate the values and you get: flareSettings = 0.45, 1.0, 0.132 spikesSettings = 0.6, 1.0, 0.156

  17. @schneemannskisince the "Ablator" is a stock resource i would say that you might have more serious problems than the craft file loading. Did you delete anything from inside the Squad folder?
  18. @Dashmana good candidate for that would be the stock "orbit" bug. Other than that, do you have RCS onboard? With KSP 1.1 RCS can act like an engine if the throttle is other than zero and RCS is enabled.
  19. @jdub3350you need to install RP-0 if you want to play career. RO does not support the stock tech tree at all. And no, the Able avionics package is unlocked when you research "Early Avionics".
  20. @kyodenBefore continuing: can you temporarily rebuild the rocket as it was before and replace the engine with a random one from another pack (i.e. not stock or VSR)? VSR currently has some issues with the "tank butt" fairings (the small attachment node that you have captioned "Where should this be attached" - ignore it, this is for the stock game) breaking FAR and doing all sorts of weird things. Second thing: all RO engines are surface attachable, meaning that you do not need an open attachment node to mount them. Ignore all the attachment nodes of the engine, mount the tank on the interstage adapter (as you have already done) and then surface - attach the engine at the bottom of the tank. To get only one engine there is a trick for that: increase the Symmetry Mode to two and try to "clip" one engine into the other (this will center the engines). Then drop the symmetry to one again and attach the engine (be careful not to disturb your mouse while clicking!). Update: FAR and some specific engines from VSR do not play well with each other and the Merlin is one of them. Just tested a Falcon 9 v1.1 with just the minimum to confirm this.
  21. @Comet Taili made some scaterrer configs for Venus, Jupiter and Uranus (Saturn is a difficult one because the oblation that was implemented in RSS a few versions ago breaks all of the beatification mods). I would suggest to download the the Scatterer Config Tool. Once you get the hang of it it is easy to make any scaterrer config you like (you want a pink planet? you got it!)
