  1. Went looking for it to see what the problem was after you posted this, and... just where the heck did it go?! If it's gone, then... Nooooooo!!!! That's why I'll discuss with you first whether or not it'll be included in the pack. @AlexTheNotSoGreat I did make biome maps, but have yet to set up the resources. It's a five minute job though, don't worry. Also, the Kopernicus thread has returned: Therefore I'm removing the temporary link.
  2. Hmm... there are no plans to add any moons to Jool as is, although your comment did make me want to try. In fact, I have already tried, the only thing left to do for it to work is getting the colors to show up properly. As for your question regarding compatibility, let me underline this: this pack is compatible with all planet mods out there. It'll load up just fine regardless of what pack, although other moon-adding packs may add moons a bit too close to SPE's moons, or stock planets get moved to a position in which SPE's moons would be impossible to orbit realistically resulting in a bugged SOI, but KSP will always load.
  3. I'll write a patch for when both S.P.E and OPM are installed so that Froth becomes a moon of Neidon, seeing as Sarnus and Urlum already have quite a system of moons, so there's more room around Neidon for another moon.
  4. Stock Planet Expansion or S.P.E is a pack that adds countless moons to the Kerbal solar system for you to explore! From Moho to Eeloo, we got you covered! Meet the moons Grillian, moon of Moho "Grillian is the Mohonian moon. It's surface is covered in vast, trademark canyons that have baffled scientists ever since their discovery. Strangely though, Grillian appears more frequently in discussions of whether or not 'Mohonian' is a word rather than it does in scientific reports." Grillian is a half-molten mountainous moon in orbit of Moho. It's lava actually damages spacecrafts, so perhaps it's best to stay clear of those areas. Driea, moon of Eve "Driea is a small, pink moon in orbit of Eve. For reasons unknown though it has a huge, silver mountain on it's equator. Scientists still do not know what caused it, considering Driea is likely geologically inactive, and thus Mount Hyacinthum remains a mystery to Kerbalkind." Driea is Eve's first moon, Gilly becoming Eve's second moon due to it's larger orbit. Driea has a landscape covered in hills as well as one truly enormous mountain that science cannot explain. Trao, moon of Kerbin "Once a moon similar to Mun, Trao has been struck by a rather large object a long time ago, resulting in a large impact crater on one side of the moon that reaches all the way to the moon's core. The resulting debris either impacted the moon elsewhere, or is still orbiting Kerbin. The impact also caused the moon to spin out of control, so be cautious." Trao becomes a new moon of Kerbin, it becomes the iconic blue planet's new second moon due to it orbiting further away than the moon, yet not as far out as Minmus. The debris from the impact also formed a ring around Kerbin near Trao's orbit. Smov and Prolla, moons of Duna "Smov is a strange, uneven moon orbiting Duna. For some weird reason it shares it's larger neighbor Ike's pattern of a gray surface with strange, darker areas. One thing is certain, Smov is a lot more bumpy." "Prolla is a strange moon and the outermost of Duna's three moons. While Smov shares it's colors with Ike, Prolla seems to have colors similar to Duna, with red lowlands and ice-covered highlands. Why Smov and Prolla love cosplaying as the two larger bodies in the Dunaian system is a mystery." Smov is a smaller, asteroid-like moon while Prolla is about 1.5 times Smov's size, about half as large as Ike. The two moons dominate the outer regions of Duna's sphere of influence, but how the two moons got there in the first place is a mystery. Dres-1 and Dres-2, the moons that orbit Dres (who would've guessed?) D-1 and D-2 are two little rocky moons orbiting Dres with the same inclination. D-1 is an icy asteroid, a remnant of the solar system's birth. D-2 is also an asteroid, but is more metallic in composition. Klan, moon of Jool Klan is, without even a shadow of a doubt, the most bizarre moon ever discovered by the Kerbal Astronimcal Society. Nobody truly knows what is going on down there, on its strange and ravaged surface. Be wary, Kerbals. Froth, moon of Eeloo "Froth is a magnificent little ball of ice in orbit around Eeloo. Eons ago a few annoying little asteroids slammed into the icy surface, exposing the moon's inner layers. The debris from this event formed Froth's iconic rings of ice particles. Taking a shard from the rings of Froth is said to bring luck." A moon that closely resembles the planet it orbits save for the fact that this moon has a set of beautiful rings. The jealous Eeloo has attempted to steal these rings several times, but the rings are in a stable orbit around Froth and are unlikely to leave anytime soon. 5. People, just a quick note: it seems the custom scatter I added to Sennim is glitching out. It works, it just looks a bit ugly. I will fix this ASAP. Everything else (surface textures and ocean textures) work just fine though. @Galacticvoyager I've just updated the OP with images of the moons and an alternative download link, namely through Dropbox. I hope you can download the mod now.
  6. Oh? Strange. Give me a sec, I'll upload the file to my Dropbox account.
  7. It changes the appearance of Dres and moves it to orbit Cyran. Since Cyran loads in between Duna and Jool, it's nowhere near the planets from OPM, so the two mods will get along pretty well. I'm not sure what Custom Asteroids is though, I'll do some research on that.
  8. Cyran 2.0 is out at last! I'll soon add stuff like a video and in-game screens, and next on the to-do list are E.V.E and Scatterer.
  9. Cyran isn't based off any discovered exoplanet. I was just thinking around, trying to come up with ideas on how to make an interesting planet pack, my goal was to bring something new to the equation, and the result is Cyran, a gas giant where aerobraking is deadly and likely even fatal. The ring system was added along with Infernas, I liked the idea of a debris belt orbiting Cyran, so I added it. On a separate note, the next update will also feature a remade Dres. I may alter it later, but it's good for now. Whether I'll alter it or not depends on if the community likes the 'new Dres'.
  10. Yes, yes there is. For instance, the material types had to be altered greatly.
  11. Please don't update the mod yourself. I know you mean well, but I'm nearly done updating it myself. I had to apply several changes, especially regarding the PQSMaterials, but the update will also feature full biome support and ScienceDefs, ergo a major update.
  12. Hmm... it could be done with Kopernicus, but it'd require spawning a 'particle core planet', which I don't think would be the best option. I think you're right, EVE would be the best option. In fact, I could add those clouds for you, it's a five minute job.
  13. You are correct, I am indeed reworking Dres. There will be some conflicts with other planet mods, mainly Sido's Urania Expansion and the still in development mod Stock Planet Expansion by @SmashingKirby148 and myself (a collaboration). For instance, S.P.E adds moons to Dres, which become subsatellites with Cyran installed, and subsatellites around Dres in it's current position are against the laws of physics. Therefore I'm making a bunch of compatibility patches to slightly adjust the orbits of planets from other packs when both Cyran and a conflicting pack are detected. So far I'm certain that Arkas, K.A.S.E and Outer Planets Mod will work just fine, I have yet to check if KerbolOrigins, KerbolPlus, UnchartedLands and as soon as it releases, New Horizons 2.0, they may or may not have planets or moons orbiting near Cyran that will need adjusting.
  14. That looks amazing! You know, perhaps you could even add a particle system to give the volcanoes some smoke. How to do it, I do not know, just a crazy thought.
  15. Okay, that looks amazing! Still, if I remember correctly, you could tweak the 'density' of the atmosphere with the lightColor value depending on the intensity of the colors given. I recall playing around with Kittopia and getting something quite similar to what you have in the screenshot: just a colored mist above the ground. Thank goodness it's doable, it looks absolutely incredible (sadly, a wispy haze wasn't what I was going for with my project, but it fits Thatmo excellently!)
  16. Although this really isn't the right place for such a discussion, I've written several guides on how to use Kopernicus. The planets you describe seem easy to make to me. For that super-Laythe I'd use VertexPlanet and LandControl followed by VertexHeightOffset, and that brown dwarf... it's kinda what I tried to do with Cyran, a gas giant with a superheated temperature curve for the atmosphere.
  17. I've just gotten 1.1.2, and I'm currently hard at work at porting Arkas over. Clouds seem to work as well.
  18. Ooh, now I get it! Some more related news: I've finally gotten Steam to update my KSP to 1.1.2, so exect updates for Cyran and Arkas.
  19. It was about time for me to release my first planet pack! Introducing... Cyran! Introducing, from left to right: Cyran - Infernas - Dres(remade) - Iltan - Kivlan - Sennim - Protorin - Glacia - Zerto - Crysalis. The moons in this image are scaled, Cyran is not (otherwise the Cyran in the image would have to be 16000 pixels in diameter...) So, what do these planets look like? Glacia Crysalis Protorin Zerto Sennim Kivlan Iltan Dres Infernas Cyran And last but not least, Cyran itself: a large, orange gas giant orbiting in between Duna and Jool. Cyran is unique because due to the decay of radioactive elements in the planet's core, it is emitting enough heat to melt anything that gets too close. Therefore be very, very careful with aerobreaks here, you might find yourself boiling up before you even get close to the atmosphere. This does mean any orbiting station can cut back on the heating fee, of course. Any more sweet details? Well, certainly! Check out the (first version of) Cyran's trailer! Features Version 1.0 - Initial release - Added Cyran and a bunch of moons - Added particle system to Infernas - Biomes for most moons Version 2.0 (May 25th, 2016) - Added (partially complete) ScienceDefs - Updated Cyran to 1.1.2 - Added a remade Dres - Support for Distant Object Enhancement added - Support for PlanetShine added - First steps made for E.V.E support - Increased the size of Iltan - Increased size of Iltan's atmosphere - Increased temperature on Iltan - Added biome maps to all moons - Custom ocean textures added to Sennim - Terrain scatter added to all moons - Custom terrain scatter added to Sennim - Fixed atmosphere rim of Sennim being orange instead of green - Fixed Sennim having an incorrect atmosphere color on the banner - Official flags for Cyran have been added - In-game screenshots made - Moved the changelog to the Readme.txt file. Version 3.0 (December 26th, 2016) - Compatibility with KSP 1.2.X. - Remade Kivlan and Zerto entirely. - Three new moons: Protorin, Glacia and Crysalis. - Art pass on Iltan. - Scatterer support! - EVE support! (Big thanks to Galileo for letting me use textures from SVE and helping me with the configs!) - Overhaul on Infernas' particle system (thanks you, SAS123!) - Many new science defenitions (thank you, MinimalMinmus!) - Many new biomes to explore and better biomes in general. - Many other Kopernicus mods are now supported - Some easter eggs have been added... - Full KSPedia support! - New surface textures, using CTTP (like OPM) - New heatcurve for Cyran, ships now heat up with a certain amount of Kelvin per frame below an altitude of 5 million meters, the intensity scales with distance. - Cyran now has a (cloudy) 'surface texture' instead of a void. - Cyran's rings have been overhauled to display the decay of Infernas more realistically (thank you, SAS123!) and a new ring has been added. - New lava texture on Infernas, as well as a new particle texture. - Improved scaledversion textures. And still on the to-do list are: - Missing Science Defenitions - Asteroid spawning system Alright, alright, where do I download this? Right over on SpaceDock. The mod has been updated to work with 1.2, and support for PlanetShine, DistantObjectEnhancement, EVE, Scatterer and TextureReplacer is included. (Kerbals can remove their helmets on Iltan) Support Cyran? @JadeOfMaar has created an awesome signature banner for Cyran! LINK
  20. Sweet mother of mercy, have I got good news! I (finally) got E.V.E back under control! Therefore I'm back on the job of adding clouds to K.O. to increase the awesomeness further. Hang tight, Kerbs! The E.V.E configs should be done soon. I might even make a bunch of Scatterer configs later.
  21. Hmm... not really. You see, you set Tylo as a template, but you don't 'alter' the template further. You keep all of Tylo's PQSMods and thus you're basically editing a clone of Tylo, not making a new planet. As for why the planet looks like Tylo in the map view, that is because you haven't updated the ScaledSpace. So, in short, add this: Template { name = Tylo removeAllPQSMods = true } To remove Tylo's PQSMods from the template so the PQSMods you chose are applied. Furthermore, you specify a colormap AND a colormod. That isn't necessary, you can delete HeightColorMap. And last but not least, the ScaledSpace, well, you don't seem to have a heightmap so you can't generate a normal map. I recommend installing Kittopia and exporting the textures of your planet once you're happy with how the planet looks, then add this: ScaledVersion { type = Vacuum Material { texture = [Filepath leading to the planet's 'color' texture] normals = [Filepath leading to the normal map Kittopia created] } } Hope this helps TWG
  22. A quick heads-up for everyone who is having pixelFloatD errors, the next version of Kopernicus will no longer have this bug. Please keep an eye on the main Kopernicus thread and update your Kopernicus version when Kopernicus itself updates, that should fix the issue.
