Awww.... Sally Kellerman passed. She played "Hotlips Houlihan" in M*A*S*H (the movie)Star Trek TOS fans will also remember her from the iconic episode "Where No Man Has Gone Before" https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/sally-kellerman-dead-hot-lips-houlihan-mash-1235099282/ -

Agreed. This is one of the works that inspired me to write Emiko Station. @Parkaboy wherever you are, I hope you're doing well.

Gargamel is correct... sort of. I was a QA tester on KSP1 for 3 years, and on KSP2 for <classified> But as of about a month ago I'm the full time writer. Oh yeah. Play testing is a big part of the QA job. And trying to dream up and anticipate what the players will do is one of the most challenging (and fun) parts of it.

I think so. My daughter is a fierce critic when it comes to movies, and she's never read the book(s), and she loved it -

I've actually lost count of how many times I've already watched the new Dune... It really is that good And this one piece has been haunting me all day (in a good way) -

On Writing (Novels, Short Stories and Editing)
Just Jim replied to JoeSchmuckatelli's topic in The Lounge
I would like to share a couple more videos that I think you might enjoy. This first is by Stan Lee, and is one of my favorites. It is mostly about creating problems and conflict for your characters. I found this while I was writing Emiko, and in many ways it was a sort of affirmation of what I had already been doing. This 2nd video is by Joston Ramon Theney and about going too far with the conflict... It is something I always worried about and a great counter-balance to Stan's video And this last is by Neil Gaiman, and is about where writers get their ideas, and is just a great clip -

I totally agree! What is really fun is after a while your characters will start to write themselves in your head. It's weird, but true. The more you start to define them, the more you know them... the more you can predict what they will say and do in a certain situation without having to really think about it. I've had it happen a lot writing Emiko. Without me really doing anything, I would sit and dream up all the dialog between my characters just by sitting back and listening to them in my head. The great J. Michael Straczynski sums it up really well in this: -

Thanks you. One thing I can say (because Nate has already said this) is we are not making the game easier. But we do want to make it easier to learn. We want the information that players need, tutorials, etc, to be more understandable and accessible. Anyway, to bring this back on topic, I ran across this video a couple weeks ago. It says it's for screenplays and screenwriters, but there is a lot of very good advice for any kind of writing, including short stories and novels
