The Upcoming Movies (and Movie Trailers) MegaThread!
Just Jim replied to StrandedonEarth's topic in The Lounge
I really liked Prometheus. And I agree about David, and Alien: Covenant. You really need to see the extended versions for it all to make sense. I could go on for hours about what I think is well written or not (and why) but if I have to pick a favorite recent sci-fi movie for writing, I think I'm going with Shin: Godzilla. I know it's hard to find, sorry, but it's well worth it, IMO. It really captures the feel of the original Gojira, and also the real-time fears of Fukushima. This is not your average campy Godzilla movie (IMO). Great writing (for a Godzilla movie). And to bring this back on-topic, I've heard rumors there might be an upcoming sequel in the works. Spoiler: From Shin: Godzilla, one of the scariest scenes ever... and I've seen them all. -

Yeah, this one caught my eye yesterday... It look's just different enough it might be really good And from the writers of "A Quiet Place"??? It will be very interesting to see Adam Driver in something that maybe isn't horribly written. -
I'll have to ask it to write a retirement speech for me... lol...

Everyday Astronaut is going to the moon
Just Jim replied to Gargamel's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Huge congratulations to Tim!!! I am super excited for you, and a little jealous... but only a little. I'll be the first to admit I'm too old to do something like this myself. I seriously look forward to you watching play KSP from the far side of the Mun!!! (I mean Moon... hehehe) -
What If... Blood Fueled Rockets? I Am Not Joking...
Just Jim replied to Spacescifi's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Babylon 5 had "organic bio-ships", but they never got specific how they were powered or what kind of fuel they used... or if they used fuel at all for that matter. It's a great idea for a sci-fi story -

The Horrifying Implications of the Kerbin Crater
Just Jim replied to Ace in Space's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I just want to make sure everyone knows my comment was un-official... lol Oh, I'm sorry. I should have worded that better. I just meant my comment (and Emiko Station) are not canon, not this thread. As far as the game, there is no official lore to explain the crater at this time So please feel free to theorize and speculate what happened. This is fun. -

I think we need to make this a little more metal... lmao -
The Horrifying Implications of the Kerbin Crater
Just Jim replied to Ace in Space's topic in KSP1 Discussion
My comment here is NOT CANON. This is totally off-the-record, so to speak. In Emiko Station I wrote that it was a comet, not an asteroid. They saw it coming, and the prophet and mathematician Tut-Un Jeb-Ahn realized it was going to hit and warned everyone, and many of the early Kerbals fled deep underground just in time. This is why there is so little life on the surface, and no cities. And why the survivors built the great pyramid in Tut-Un Jeb-Ahn's honor. -

The only one in LoTR I had a problem with was Elrond. I kept waiting for him to say "Welcome to Rivendell... Mr. Anderson." -

What's a weird subject you know way too much about?
Just Jim replied to Rutabaga22's topic in Forum Games!
Besides Kerbals??? lol I would have to admit it's the Fallout universe. I'm not just a big fan of the game, I am a HUGE fan of the writing. I think they've done a magnificent job building up the storylines and lore from game to game, and I find myself exploring each and every abandoned building , every working computer terminal I can find, just to learn more. I know so much about what happened after the great war it's a little embarrassing... lol (Full disclosure: the only reason I haven't applied for a writing job with Bethesda is I love KSP and Kerbals so much more!!!!) -

Developer Insights #15 - Writing for Kerbal Space Program
Just Jim replied to Intercept Games's topic in Dev Diaries
I'm sorry, there is very little I can share right now. But please understand... full disclosure... I honestly don't know myself. I have very little to do with marketing, and most of the time I don't know these things until just a few days before they happen. -
I've got a good mustache related follow-up for this... hehehe Book: "Yes, I'd forgotten you're moonlighting as a criminal mastermind now. Got your next heist planned?" Simon: "No. But I'm thinking about growing a big black mustache. I'm a traditionalist." -Firefly "War Stories"

I'll take this one step further... when you are asked to replace a teacher for the last few weeks of a semester because the teacher had no clue what they were trying to teach, and there was no other replacement available (true story)

Hope you feel better soon!!!!!
