I agree ... the extension method that worked in KSP 1.7.3 I was using to hook into Physics Range Extender doesn't work properly in KSP 1.8.1 I can see they type and class but unable to hook the functions in the extension method I put in PRE ... worked perfectly in 1.7.3 Kind of a curious situation since the extension method I put into Hull Breach is apparently working ... it grabs the hotpoint data from BDAc and sinks ships fine from the reports I have received Odd situation indeed

Structural parts different angles?
DoctorDavinci replied to Cloakedwand72's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Perhaps this would help? ... just parts so should work right out of the box I haven't updated it in awhile -
The only reason I could see any possibility of the analytics being of any actual use that would benefit the community is if the analytics implementation is the beginning of a multiplayer implementation as the analytics must be active for any form of Unity multiplayer since they are heavily entwined Let's be clear, I'm not trying to suggest this is what is happening ... Only pointing out the only real quasi legitimate reason to have Unity analytics incorporated into a single player game since in Unity multiplayer functionality and the analytics are just different thorns on the rosebush Lets also be clear that I am not defending Squad, just providing facts for consideration when thinking about this issue Whatever the reason it is still an underhanded deal ... there is no other purpose for it other than to provide feedback from online games of which KSP is not (without mods) At least that is the conclusion I come to ... but what do I know, I'm just a hack
-
I personally think the bigger question here is why did they try to sneak this crap in again? I don't recall if anything about Unity analytics and such has been discussed by Squad since the redshell fiasco ... Not sure what to think about that

How to change texture file name of the mu. files
DoctorDavinci replied to galvatron315's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
In the config file you will see this: the bold part is what you are interested in .... add this: texture = EYEGrey, OrX/Parts/HoloKron/textureV Then all you need to do is change the OrX/Parts/HoloKron/textureV to the path of the texture you want to use (the root folder is GameData so the format would be 'directory of the mod' / 'subdirectory the texture is in' / 'the textures filename without the extension' For example, EYEGrey is the texture that the armor uses as it comes with BDAc ... the OrX/Parts/HoloKron/textureV is the directory 'GameData/OrX/Parts/Holokron/' in my KSP game install folder and the 'textureV' is the textureV.png that the part uses [texture = 'current texture name' , 'path to new texture with name minus extension'] Do this for all the parts contained in the config (all the armor part configs are in the single config file) Good luck -
Yes, that we do With that in mind I have updated the download with refreshed MM configs courtesy of everyone's favorite monkey I did not update the version as it's only configs ... https://github.com/DoctorDavinci/DCK/releases/tag/v0.4.1.0 I wont be diving into DCK anytime soon as OrX Kontinuum is taking up my time at the moment but intend to rebuild DCK from the ground up like I have been doing with OrX

1 data point doesn't prove anything ... Disney is notorious for going after fan works Take Star Wars Theory for example ... he had explicit permission from Lucas Arts to do a fan film and then Disney hit him hard with the hammer (dude spent $150000 to make ir) If it wasn't for his community and the bad press then Lucas Arts would have never piped up and said anything Disney tried to crush the guy when he already had permission to use the IP

Mod licensing and "etiquette"
DoctorDavinci replied to TiktaalikDreaming's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
So you keep saying 'you' and that 'you have a problem' All I did was provide you a bit of insight into why things go so out of hand and why a bunch of people got bent out of shape but yet I am the one with a problem? [snip] -

Mod licensing and "etiquette"

Mod licensing and "etiquette"
DoctorDavinci replied to TiktaalikDreaming's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
As stated to you a number of times, it wasn't what you wanted to do but how you went about it ... the community here are a fairly helpful bunch So no, it wasn't the 'Audacity to even try' as you put it but rather the attitude around the whole fiasco There's a word in the title of this thread ... Etiquette -
I'm not fixing anything in DCK at this time ... my attention is taken up by OrX Kontinuum at the moment and DCK will remain on the back burner until I'm done with the loot box controversy and the challenge creator/geocache deal in OrX Kontinuum EDIT: as a side note please direct all issues with DCK to my github issues link found in the DCK thread Support questions for DCK should not be posted here, please post in the DCK thread (there's a reason I asked for it to be unlocked )

You still don't get it, do you? The issue here isn't whether the licensing allows for it, the issue is you came in here and kicked a couple people in the balls and now your sitting here arguing the fact that it is ok to do so Put the licensing aside for a moment and look at how this whole fiasco unfolded ... More than a few prominent modders advised you of what is what and how to go about doing what you had planned however it appears your nose got bent out of shape due to people telling you what is what And now it's just an excuse to be outraged Honestly, I actually looked at some of what you were doing and thought you could be a help with a bunch of my code but not with this attitude
