Photons go at 299 792 458 m/s in a vacuum, there isn't really any known way around that. I bet, though that you could make a rocket that was a lot more efficient than a photon rocket if you used something not with greater speed, but with mass. If you had a rocket that fired any kind of particle, be it protons, neutrons, or whole atoms, out the back at 99.999 % c, it would give a huge amount of energy to your ship. Now, how to get particles moving that fast?

heat tiles? =================== I wonder what the odds are that that STP-2 gets delayed 4 days and 2 hours, thereabouts...Maybe I could watch from the stratosphere.

The encounter and the time needed for the burn shouldn't be much different than for an equatorial orbit. You'd just have to set your Jupiter inclination slightly higher.

First thing to wonder about is whether they even survived that crash...

I dunno, the island is just on the corner but that droneship is placed right inside the infamous triangle. They must be testing their reliability against the gods themselves!

I decided to watch the news footage of the Apollo 11 landing, and found it striking that the newscasters had actually read the mission plan prior and knew all the major acronyms and order of operations in the mission, and were in general extremely knowledgeable about what was going on. Oh, how far we've fallen.
-
Wait...They crashed right before the change...So they'll probably be dragging their tired feet over to the Space Center right into a program that has no idea they exist? Or has it been too long for me to remember what goes down when this happens?

Getting it back to Earth orbit is one thing, but the surface...not many ships could bring it down.

Sometimes the best we can do is experience it. -
Snakes are cuter than people realize too, so I guess it makes sense.
-
I'm sorry @qzgy

Eh, we got dolphins out of, like...horse/rhino things? Over a few tens of millions of years of natural evolution? So not entirely out of the question.

Earth is the densest planet in the solar system. -
What if we bred weiner dogs to be even longer and have shorter legs, until we created a dog-snake that was a dog, but had no legs and moved around like a snake.

Instead of the gauntlet, Thanos had the Lost Ark and used it to unleash hell onto Earth, boil the oceans and replace them with oil. Also a spider turned into a dog.

I haven't used my backpack all week and now a spider lives in it. -
Interesting design, but I think the final Starship will be built horizontally in factories, similarly to Falcon 9.

Yes, previously flown on the Dragon 2 demo.

I...remember that? No, I don't.

How high can you count on 10 fingers?

I do binary as well, it's much more efficient than unary and easy to learn every combination of up and down. -
"The reason I turned those off, I shall explain earlier." Scott Manley is a time traveler confirmed.
