[1.2] Galileo's Planet Pack (development thread) [v0.9]
Galileo replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Tbh, I haven't done an actual landing on Tellumo. @OhioBob does it quite often. Maybe he can provide an easy tutorial for you. Btw, did you find the surprise around Tellumo? Hint: It's not the rings. Just answer yes or no.- 1,030 replies

[KSP 1.6.1] Stock Visual Enhancements [v1.4.1] [20 March 2019]
Galileo replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
You know, I have no idea. It's just been that way for a while. Maybe the kopernicus dev will fix it when he decides to update for 1.2. -

[KSP 1.6.1] Stock Visual Enhancements [v1.4.1] [20 March 2019]
Galileo replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
This mod collection of cfgs, @Speadge, is packaged with distant object enhancements and custom scatterer cfgs. And EVE The only thing you need out of that list is planetshine -
Issue has been filed
-
Actually i have found editing in the tracking station avoids the bugs. The only down side to that is you lose the capability to edit volumetric clouds. Ill file an issue for you

[KSP 1.6.1] Stock Visual Enhancements [v1.4.1] [20 March 2019]
Galileo replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
UPDATE 1.0.9 *Brings SVE to KSP version 1.2 *Added new particle for volumetric clouds.. not much different but a little more opaque *Auroras now glow on dark side of Kerbin and Laythe *Added a new sunflare KNOWN ISSUES *The main Menu looks a little funky. No big deal. *EVE does some wierd things when you mess with the GUI in game. Leave it alone. Thats your warning. If you absolutely have to mess with the EVE settings, do it in the tracking station. The issues dont happen in there. OK, If you happen to mess with them in game, perform a scene change and the issues should go away. *Scatterer also has a few small bugs that im sure will be ironed out in the future. Sometimes the water disappears at the KSC, a scene change will remedy this. Messing with the EVE GUE also causes weirdness sometimes. Like i said earlier, your life will be easier if you just leave the GUI's alone for now while they are so touchy. **DO NOT INSTALL EVE SEPERATELY, EVERYTHING IS BUNDLED IN THIS DOWNLOAD** Download Link -
[KSP 1.6.1] Stock Visual Enhancements [v1.4.1] [20 March 2019]

couldnt sleep. How does 15 min sound? -
I just did a clean install of 1.2 and the issues went away.. very strange. Sorry for thinking it was a bug man. You rock. perhaps i need to start following my own troubleshooting advice that i give out all the time... @Waz i figured out how to replicate the wierd bugs i was experiencing. Changing any value in the GUI and hitting apply causes the issues. the only way to remedy the problems is a scene change.
-
that was just a test. The brighter i set them the darker they got it was wierd. Im testing something now
-
this is what im experiencing. Note the _color in the EVE gui on laythe. also, Kerbin looks fine to me most of the time too but its like this more often then not. Im afraid i cant release SVE like this.
-
no, those do look fine. Will you do me a favor and check how it looks for you with SVE installed? I didnt change anything from my last update so the cfgs should be fine. particulularly look around Eve and Laythe on the surfaces as well

[KSP 1.6.1] Stock Visual Enhancements [v1.4.1] [20 March 2019]
Galileo replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
OK Github is being extremley slow, the update will have to wait until morning as i have a class at 6am and its currently 1:25am here. If i dont get to bed now i will likely die in the morning.. Sorry! -
Hey @Waz, I got SVE lookinfg as good as I could with your latest EVE version. However, I noticed a few things that were out of whack. The cloud shadows force the clouds in flight/mapview/tracking station to look horrible. I when ahead and disabled all shadow material and everything looked good again. I only tested this with scatterer installed so it might occur if its not installed however, SVE cant exist without scatterer Also, some clouds have a very hard time showing up when _DetailDist = 1E-07. I used that setting religiously to get the detail layer to be visible from much further distances. I ended up having to change it to _DetailDist = 2E-06 on Laythe and Eve for the clouds to become opaque enough for me to see them. I hope once I finish uploading SVE, you can take a look and see it all first hand. Thanks for taking this over for the time being Waz. You are pretty awesome my man!

I appreciate the clarity here. I apologize if this is coming off as bad as i think it is. I am a bit annoyed to be honest. I am an army vet and having good character and work ethic is something i pride myself on. So i think you can understand that when someone attacks my character, i am going to fight to show them that they are wrong. Im not saying that you were completely wrong as i did have jool textures in my mod. I just wanted to be clear that my intention with this mod was not to rip off of AVP in anyway. My mod looks nothing like AVP did. Thats due to many reasons like EVE changing and growing. Scatterer being amazing but a lot of it is also the work i have put into my textures. I think we can agree that we are both pretty skilled with image editing and there are only so many ways to skin a cat. Our work was more than likely to overlap at some point with EVE having its limitations. Again im looking forward to seeing your work again on the forums. -

AuroraDetail i made from scratch. sorry if its close? the technique works. Duststorms i recieved from @Tekener where he got it, i dont know. atmo is seriously a transparent 32x16 rectangle. You got me. if you didn't notice my irresponsibly large Atmosphere.dds right next to im sorry. It may even just be a white square i dont think i have ever used it Kerbin 1 Found the texture online. Had to make it transparent to use it. (photoshop magic) The old kerbin1 had seams. my source here http://www.shadedrelief.com/natural3/pages/clouds.html Mars2 is from SSRSS, another mod i worked on with @sDaZe. i believe he may have got the texture from RVE. which this mod used to be a port of so it wouldnt suprize me if it was here from the beginning. detaileve1 has been in the pack since the mod was created if im not mistaken I already said the Jool texture was yours. I think, at this point, you are stretching. Anything else? -

Im am not entirely sure what you are talking about but this is the most backhanded compliment i have recieved in a long time. I took this mod over from @Nhawks17 in June. Since then, SVE has been the ONLY visual pack out there that is always current with the latest KSP version. The only textures I remember seeing that may have been from one of your packs were 2 that were used for Jool if i am correct. Yes i took some inspiration from you. I most definitely took inspiration and when i began working on this mod MANY fans of the mod wanted me to create some things that looked like your work. I obliged. Why wouldnt I? Your work WAS so good. Now this gets under my skin a little. Lets proceed. "This gives your stock KSP a bit of eye candy! It is no longer a port of RVE as I am creating all of the textures myself" It says "I am creating" not "I created" I am still actively working on this and making new textures all the time. Sorry if that led you astray. I have also been given a few textures from other players like @Tekener and some may have been from EVE itself. I put so much time and work into SVE and my other mods for you to say otherwise I wont deny that 2 of the Jool textures are from your pack after further inspection and i will credit you if that's what you want. Other than that, I have done damn near everything myself. Also your license did indeed allow it as you said. So whats the deal here? What this looks like to me is a chance to get attention. Otherwise, this could have been done in the personal messenger. So, if you want to try to discredit MY hard work and hours on Photoshop and Illustrator so you can promote the return of "astronomer's whatever", thats fine but don't tell me my effort isn't worth a few small donations. I'm excited that you are back and I'm looking forward to friendly competition. All I'm trying to do here is push the envelope of what a visual pack can be in KSP. I dont expect to continue this conversation further than this as i am currently working on an update for 1.2. That being said, anybody that wants to support to my coffee addiction, please consider donating. -

@Waz if you take a look at the clouds in the tracking station, zoom into the planet and notice the clouds turn black. Cloud shadows are also still showing up on top of the clouds. turning off cloud shadows "fixes" it but its not ideal -

that is not how you install this at all and there is no reason to run this in x32. run it in x64 1. open the GameData folder that comes with the downloads 2. move the boulderco folder to your gamdata folder 3. move EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements folder to your gamedata folder. 4. enjoy -
