HECK YES WAZ! i was uploading a new version when i saw this. the upload came to a screeching halt needless to say @Waz So if someone is still experiencing some lag from volumetric clouds all the need to do is lower the visible range from 10,000 to say 5,000 for example? if thats the case, you have probably done the single best thing that has happened to EVE. People will absolutely love that! Just tested this out... SO DAMN GOOD.

[KSP 1.6.1] Stock Visual Enhancements [v1.4.1] [20 March 2019]
Galileo replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
i personally dont see a reason to cap the fps but it really depends on your cpu. if you have an i5 or i7, i wouldnt cap it because it wouldnt make a difference in terms of CPU usage because KSP doesnt multi thread. -

ok may i ask why you changed StockVisualEnhancements folder name to SVE? That is why EVE cant find the textures BTW change it back to StockVisualEnhancements and you will be good -

Galileo replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
yeah i was pulling my hair out. its strange that the same layers that i just removed didnt have that big of an impact on previous versions. either way they weren't vital to this pack at all so i happily removed them. yeah im sure they are GC but they are sooo small the human eye cant pick up the stutter if there even is one. -

yeah i removed those and for some reason i had my cirrus cloud layer with volumetric clouds which hurt more than it looked good so i just got rid of it -

You can hit alt+0 to open the gui and play with the cloud layers that way but if you mean to alter the actual textures you will need photoshop. -

That is something that I can't do unfortunately. Blackrack was working on something like that in scatterer and he will probably include sometime in the future -

Galileo replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Yeah I have a 1070 but was averaging 40-50 with my latest release. While that's lower than in the past, but playable for me, not everyone has a card like that. I know ksp is a CPU intensive game and I'm using a i5 4690k so I have plenty power there. so, you are probably right about it being something in the game causing this. But I still think I can try to optimize sve a little more anyway. -
Pics would help. also are you using Scatterer?

Z-fighting shadows
Galileo replied to Majorjim!'s topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Yeah I first noticed it with 1.1 when making SVT and I always thought it was because of my ground textures but I just recently updated SVE and noticed it was just as bad with completely stock planets in 1.2 -
Z-fighting shadows
Galileo replied to Majorjim!'s topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
I've noticed something else that bothers me just as bad and it also looks like Z fighting. I noticed this primarily on Duna. Land a vessel on Duna and position your camera to be a low angle but not so low that you clip into the ground. You may notice that he Terrain is jumping around a little bit. Sometimes the jumping is more noticeable and sometimes it's hardly noticeable at all but it's there and once it's seen it can't be unseen Here's a video I took of it happening. this isn't on Duna but this is exactly what it looks like -
[KSP 1.6.1] Stock Visual Enhancements [v1.4.1] [20 March 2019]
Galileo replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Hey everyone, so today I plugged in my old video card which is a GTX 960 which is a pretty okay card that I used to develop on and I know that sve can run on it. However the performance was abysmal to say the least. tonight I plan on rewriting the configurations from scratch to see where I can gain a few more FPS. I'm not sure where the performance drop is coming from because nothing has changed since 1.1.3 minus the glowing Aurora's. Maybe Eve is not optimized enough to work with 1.2 but I can't see that being the case. But maybe what I'm asking sve to do is just too much. Either way I'm going to look at optimizing my configurations for sve tonight. -
[KSP 1.6.1] Stock Visual Enhancements [v1.4.1] [20 March 2019]
Galileo replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
It's like that for performance reasons. Adding more layers would kill fps. SVE used to have multiple volume layers but I decided it was in the best interest of the players to make the mod as performance friendly as possible. -
[KSP 1.6.1] Stock Visual Enhancements [v1.4.1] [20 March 2019]
Galileo replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I'll look into it and see if I like how that looks. It's definitely a scatterer thing though. I'm not at my computer so I don't know the name of the value that needs changing Post your logs and maybe a screenshot of your gamedata folder. I can't help tonight but tomorrow I should be able to look at them No you can keep the one you have. I didn't change anything from the stock distant objects mod so it doesn't matter which one you use -
