Make a copy of your current save and put it somewhere safe, then upgrade to 1.5.1, and see if you base is safe (should be). If not, just roll back to the version of GPP you are on currently and reinsert you save you made a copy of- 7,371 replies

I have no idea how squad determines the pressure for each part. For all I know, it could be a global thing that's hard coded? All I have seen around the forums lately regarding Venus, is that the pressure curve is over powered and makes it impossible to land on with anything.- 598 replies

I think it's depends on the part, and not a global value. You can turn off or on the parts failing from pressure in the advanced difficulty settings.- 598 replies

I haven't changed it, so the problem still exists. You can either change the pressure curve values or just remove the curve for the time being. Maybe @OhioBob can cook up a new pressure curve for SSRSS, with his knowledge of all things curves- 598 replies

If you use the patch for RSS I posted in the thread, there are no issues with visual packs so long as you use the required dependencies of the visual pack. @Phineas Freak has posted a few times recently in the RSSVE thread about a version that works in 1.3. I would go looking for those comments and see where they get you. -

No it won't work on 1.3. It might if you use scatterer v0.0300 and turn off the ocean shaders. RSSVE has a 1.3 build available I thought? -

I never said to change the mod for one person. I have never installed this pack so I have no way of knowing if it's too dark. This is why I said "IF that's the case..." I have had plenty of comments like this, but I made SVE modular, so if anybody didn't like the way something looked, it would be because of something THEY did or added. I couldn't care less that this is a repackaged version of AVP. What I do care about is users getting good advice on how to fix issues. This is why I stick around this thread, because this happens quite a bit around here. When you give advice like you did, it can bleed over into other mods. I really don't feel like dealing with another user coming to the SVE or GPP thread saying "my game is too bright" and it's because you told them or their friend to adjust their monitor or in game settings. See what I'm getting at? What irked was the fact that you never asked for logs, a screenshot of the gamedata folder, or a simple mod list. You immediately assumed it was the users problem. It's easy to miss what the issue could be when you don't look for it.- 685 replies

Could be a few things: 1. You might have your settings turned down in the graphics tab in the main menu. 2. You aren't using the latest kopernicus. Make sure you are using 1.3.0-6. 3. You are still using GPP 1.4 with kopernicus 1.3.0-4, which scatter objects are broken due to a kopernicus bug in that version. if it's none of those, I'll need logs.- 7,371 replies

@Matchlight You should never have to adjust in game settings or your hardware for a mod. That's awful advice, as that could lead to your game looking bad after you remove this mod and having to change it again. It's not hard to do it, but a visual mod should not require unnecessary, inconvenient changes like that. Changing your hardware settings would also have an effect on other games besides KSP. I don't know of a visual mod out there that recommends changing anything. If that's the case, you need to work on optimizing this visual pack so users don't need to. This visual pack bundles Distant Objects, correct? You do know it dims the skybox (makes it darker)? You should if it's bundled. Rule of thumb for a dev; before you start pointing a finger at a users hardware or game settings, consider what your mod does, what it includes and what those bundled mods do. A little troubleshooting never hurt anyone. @KERBALINA I assume you have distant object enhancements installed via this mod. That mod controls the skybox dimness. Remove that to get rid of the dimming and brighten things up a little. That might be your issue.- 685 replies

That is the best approach I think. GPP is harder than the stock system, and not really recommended for beginners. Once you get to a place where you are comfortable in your skill set, give GPP a try. It's a whole new game, or that's what we were striving for anyway!- 7,371 replies

Ok well, if your career is in the stock game, GPP will have to wait until you are done with that and ready to start a new game. GPP removes all stock bodies and adds it's own. So any vessels you have in and around the stock system would possibly be kaput if you tried to load up in GPP.- 7,371 replies
