[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]
Galileo replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I'm not sure what you are asking in the first part of your question, but in regards to OPM, you can install OPM at any time, and you will be ok. As for AVP, no, it will not work with GPP. EVE cfgs are all dependent on planetary body names, and since AVP is for the stock game, stock planets are required. GPP only has one visual pack, and it's the one that is included in the dl.- 7,371 replies

[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]
Galileo replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
All joking aside, GPP is not an easy mod to install, and attention to detail is really important. I wish we could automate the process for users, but that may be a little ways off. I would definitely start over though, with a fresh GameData folder and follow the instructions very closely. Maybe somebody can share a screenshot of how it should look with a basic GPP install to help you out? <------ This is a request. I would but I'm not home.- 7,371 replies

[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]
Galileo replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Omg. Burn your gamedata folder with fire! it looks like you didn't install anything correctly, unfortunately. You need to remove everything except your squad folder and start over, following the instructions a little more closely.- 7,371 replies

[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]
Galileo replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Realistic Progression isn't for me. I play ksp, not to try and replicate what has already been done, but to see how I would figure out getting to space. The closest I'll get to RP is an altered tech tree that puts parts where they would realistically be unlocked. I do agree that the RP crowd is a big one in this community and could benefit from it.- 7,371 replies

[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]
Galileo replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I really dig the freedom KSP gives you, and I love the uniqueness of the stories I've read. The player may be doing the EXACT same thing as another storyteller, but have a COMPLETELY different story or experience. I feel like the mission creator thing is just going to corral the uniqueness and force many to have the same story to tell. Not really my cup of tea. I don't like the idea of forcing others to follow a preplanned path. That kinda goes against what ksp has been about for years- 7,371 replies

[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]
Galileo replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Yeah, I personally think it's gonna be a niche thing I'll likely never use the feature. I'm not into missions or storytelling. Again, that's just me, but I assume others feel the same way- 7,371 replies

[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]
Galileo replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I toyed with Lore a long time ago with GPP but ulimately decided it was a dumb. KSP is not a story telling game, but a potential platform for others to tell their own story. KSP/GPP gives the players the tools to create there own story. No need for the devs to implement a story or lore. That's what makes KSPs replay value so high. It's never the same- 7,371 replies

[1.3.1] Imperial Planet Pack v0.6 [Alpha]
Galileo replied to The Cuttlefish Empire's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Eh, whatever, just keep in mind, there are A LOT of other names out there too. If you are interested in Greco Roman history and names, there are quite a lot of really neat, interesting names out there to keep things unique. It's fun to look up names, their meanings, the history behind them, and try to tie them into your planet pack. Heck, you may learn something too. Don't get hung up on one or two names. Give yourself options.- 117 replies

typically, putting textures in a folder named "PluginData" within your mod, would allow ksp to load a little quicker. Macs and Linux do not like this, though and will cause the yellow stripe problem you see around the forums. I think I finally convinced about 90% of planet makers to move their textures out of a PluginData folder, and have alleviated many yellow striped bug reports. I have way more in depth comments about his elsewhere, I just don't feel like looking for them now. Long story short, Macs and Linux don't have issues with dds textures, but they do have a problem with where you store them. With that being said, there is no need for a version of Kopernicus to make VertexHeightMap work without the extension because a dds texture is always a dds texture regardless of if you can see the extension or not. It has to be included with vertexheightmap though.

Yea you can do that if you want to make it harder , or alternatively, just overwrite the GPP_OPM cfg with the new one. There are also a couple new screenshots for the loading screen manager if you are interested in that.- 7,371 replies
