  1. So the NASA creative team has been buisy making some pretty awesome poster that you can print out. I saw a guy on reddit that printed them on photo paper and framed them, it looked quite good. Anyways here's the link: http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/visions-of-the-future/
  2. So what would be the max part count be (on the parts I listed in my original post) on high/max settings before it goes down to 30 FPS? (I'm also planning to play some old games like Age of Empire and stuff like that which should all be fine and pretty sure I wont play too many AAA titles)
  3. Welcome to the forums! The Mission report sub forum is a great way to look at the failures and successes of others: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/forum/51-mission-reports/ Also the "what did you do in KSP today" thread is filled with failures and successes and ofcourse the kraken (evil monster that causes glitches)
  4. CPU: AMD A8-7650K 3.3 GHz Quad-Core processor for $90Motherboard: Asus A68HM-E micro ATX FM2 + motherboard for $50Memory (RAM): G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 Memory for $45Storage: Western Digital AV-GP 320GB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive (320GB - 10TB) for $20Case: Azza Cosmas ATX mid tower case for $35Power suply: Corsair Builder 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply for $50 Not planning to overclock btw, but will this pc build be able to handle big stations (like 500 parts big-ish)/ tons of pretty mods. my current laptop with 2.1 Ghz (I believe) CPU and 2 GB RAM runs KSP fine on low settings (20 FPS ish if a lot is going on) so an upgrade would be nice.
  5. Weirdly enough TAC life support doesnt have any food recycling like greenhouses (or atleast that I know of) so is the USI greenhouse compatable with the TAC life support or not? Thanks
  6. So we need to look for bugs? summon the kraken? Sounds fun, how do I sign up (or did I just sign up by asking how to sign up?
  7. Pilots might as well be volunteers these days, neither of them need skill anymore.
  8. So I am planning to go to Eve but with tac life support its pretty obvious that they will stay on Eve for their last days. And ofcourse the brave kerbalnauts will receive the highest honour: "Among the stars" and a Failed Apollo 11-ish speech. So is the surface sample and the eva data (+ milestone money/science) worth the death of a kerbal?
  9. So I guess the kraken isn't just "the" kraken but there are tons of krakens! This discovery that krakens sit on your spaceships might be a kerbal-y explanation why spaceships flip without sharp fins to scare the krakens away...
  10. I dont think so, the mayor gamechanger would be the antenna range which is going to be released after 1.1
  11. Right, but if you make a stupid mistake do you reload or not?
  12. Right, but isnt quickloading kind of reverting?
  13. It also requires more planning and attention to detail.
  14. Yea I don't like science/money grind either so I think I'll go for 90% science and income. Kerbal Construction Time seems interesting and I'll download the Ingame Notes mod (or something similar) so I don't mess up with relay sats like I did yesterday releasing my engineless probe 100,000 meters too low.
  15. So I've noticed that I use F9 quite a lot maybe too much. I'm up for a challenge but I have only gone to a couple of planets/moons (Kerbin, Mun, Minmus, Duna and Ike) (either was too lazy to go to the other planets or maxed out on science) and I can easily rendezvous and dock. I kind of want an "in your face, jeb's dead because you weren't careful enough" experience but I really fear long missions that I'll forget to fold out my solar panels or something similar. I've never really made a good plane so thats something to work on. Now based off of my "skills" above do you think I'd be ready for a "No quicksave, permadeath, career mode" save with the following mods: -TAC life support (and the "deep freeze" mod for long journeys) -Antenna Range (Because I suck at pointing dishes in Remote Tech) -Interstellar Mod -Some extra planets (Sarnus and the Valentine solar system) -Last but not least: Final Frontier (got to love ribbons)
  16. "Hey Jeb there's a birdnest in the scansat radar, should we take it out?" "Nah, it'll burn up in the atmosphere!"
  17. Floating lights, has science gone toooooo far?
  18. My minmus relay satelites have gone trough a catostrophic failure: Realized I launched my engineless relay sat 100 kilometers too low messing up the whole relay system.
  19. The dark playground http://waitbutwhy.com/2013/10/why-procrastinators-procrastinate.html
  20. If theres a game which requires for example 2.5 Ghz CPU but you have for example a 2 Ghz CPU with 4 cores, how do you know your Cpu is up for the task? And I saw 8 Gb RAM for $45, I heard this is an extremly good price but maybe this is an exaggeration...
  21. Heres the link to the page: http://www.debarnsteenspecialist.nl/maan-meteoriet-18522242.html it is in dutch but the main info has been give in my original post. 3 pictures there. You can buy a signed authenticity certificate for €1 extra which makes it look a bit shady. http://www.lpi.usra.edu/meteor/metbull.php?code=45805 this is from the meteoritical society forum, some pictures have the same box as the website above.
