Cloudstream Chemical SSTO
The Optimist replied to The Optimist's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Slight upgrade to landing struts has been applied. As a footnote, the Cloudstream is not a huge fan of 2500 m/s reentries, and will likely vaporize after a minute of two in the atmosphere. -
Please refrain from using size 36 letters and red bolding in future posts, as I like my eyes and want to keep using them in the future. Otherwise, you're fine.

One of my tanks is literally a solid piece of steel with a cannon, wheels, and a standard avionics module strapped on.

Stock Turboprop Endurance Record
The Optimist replied to Gman_builder's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I'm having trouble with the bearings. The internal rod keeps slamming into the wheels, and even at minimal suspension it bends the wheel cage. This causes loss of rotational energy, and it makes the bearing ridiculously unstable. -
comet [kom-it] noun, Astronomy. 1. a celestial body moving about the sun, usually in a highly eccentricorbit, consisting of a central mass surrounded by an envelope of dustand gas that may form a tail that streams away from the sun.

The persistent and quicksave files were corrupted. It's just a jumble of bugs, and it even prevented me from opening other saves.

Perpetually powered but... Boring! -
MistTrailer Chemical SSTO
The Optimist replied to The Optimist's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
It has built-in parachutes and reaction wheels, and the airbrakes have steering control. -
With the same 5150 delta-V you've come to expect, here is the Cyclone Heavy. Capable of reaching Duna directly with some clever aerobraking, the C-H can lift payloads of up to 20 tons to a 100 km orbit and return. It is fully reusable, except for the possible exception of the in-fairing docking port. It is reasonably forgiving, but don't do anything stupid with it. Do not open the fairing at altitudes lower than 55000 meters. Doing so will void your warranty. The C-H can be fitted with a hitchhiker container for crew storage (By default it is unmanned). It has no action groups or solar panels to worry about; the Cyclone Heavy is powered by 4 Radiothermal Isotope Generators and thus does not require external power input. It weighs an astounding 773 tons in the default configuration, with a sea level TWR of 1.58. If you so desire, there is more info is in the KerbalX page. Fly with care, or with mechjeb. It's stable at 3x time warp, and does not fall apart at 4x, but I advise you to stick to low timewarp speeds. This thread is a couple of years old. Maybe consider making your own thread about your craft?

MistTrailer Chemical SSTO
The Optimist replied to The Optimist's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
In the original configuration, it is in the interplanetary configuration, which is designed to allow it to refuel in orbit and fly to another planet. You can modify it to carry crew, or to carry cargo in a fairing if you so desire. -
Presenting the MistTrailer Chemical SSTO! The MistTrailer is the little brother of the Cloudstream. It has a lower cargo capacity, but packs the same amount of delta-V in a considerably smaller package. It is equally at home ferrying 5-ton payloads to LKO or landing on distant planets. You can pick one up at your local hobby rocketry club for the low low price of [REDACTED] dollars! The current in-box configuration for the MistTrailer is the interplanetary config, allowing you to refuel it and then to fly it anywhere in the Kerbin system. Packing 5150 or so m/s of delta-v, it's great for family roadtrips, as long as you attach seats for them (Interplanetary config is unmanned). Now with a poster for all your poster-y needs! Stubby yet sleek. Capable of safe reentry at speeds of 2100 m/s and equipped with 4 parachutes. It has 5200 m/s of delta-V in LKO, and can reach and circularize at a 200 KM orbit. Half the size of the Cloudstream. https://kerbalx.com/WorkaroundIndustries/Workaround-Industries-MK2-SSTO-Mistline

Roll Pivot on Docking Ports
The Optimist replied to Brownhair2's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
It automatically resets when you get around 10 meters away from it, to prevent accidental redocking. -

You do realize you can stretch the fairing out, right? It doesn't have to be only 0.625 meters wide. -

you can clip batteries into the probe core, and maybe a radial monoprop tank and a few rcs thrusters -

I disagree. You could possibly cram a rectangular probe core and an RTG inside one -
NMS Craft Repository (?) NMS Battle Cruiser D-11 Shieldbearer (Support) The D-11 is a long-range medium cruiser designed to combat craft of similar size. Carrying a host of 8 heavy unguided missiles, it is not designed in the original configuration for extended warfare. However, each missile can easily destroy a large ship. The Shieldbearer's principal characteristic is its large umbrella-configuration shield, which can withstand impacts with light projectiles at over 350 m/s easily. It is capable of shielding smaller craft behind it. Ignore the missing strut. The D-11 has a hefty 4500 dV with small fuel tanks attached, and around 4000 without. It is 36 meters long, and the shield is 26 meters wide. https://kerbalx.com/WorkaroundIndustries/NMS-Inc-Battle-Cruiser-D-11 NMS Medium Corvette NS-1 (Ground Support) Destroys ships and planes alike! Only 1999999.99 dollars! Possesses a cruising speed of 33 m/s and a host of 16 happiness missiles. It has a whopping 96 km/s of delta-vee and is 35 meters long. Not designed for deepwater combat, but can do it just fine. Built by the NMS Oceanic Warfare Division. https://kerbalx.com/WorkaroundIndustries/NMS-Medium-Corvette-NS-1-Killer-Whale NMS D-12 'Javelin' Classified as a capital ship, though not particularly large. Only 25 meters long, but packing a good 5000 m/s of dV. While not literally a battleship, the D-12 is a formidable medium range cruiser which is capable of taking down enemy capital ships and orbital bases. It is very durable, and is favored by its crew members due to its heavy armor and built-in cookie dispenser. Minor flaws with the primary rocket system have taken the D-12 off the front lines, but it remains as a powerful reserve force stationed throughout the Kerbol system. The D-12 is not an original NMS design; Rather, it is an old design built by a older, now assimilated military supplier. It has been retrofitted with 4 type 2/3 skyram rockets and a rapid-reload FF 7 micromissile cannon, as a replacement for the original pure light missile setup. https://kerbalx.com/WorkaroundIndustries/NMS-D-12-Javelin The NMS D-13 Glacier-class dreadnought. A cheaper alternative to those 75-meter long monstrosities they call capital ships, the D-13 packs a lot of punch for its size. Featuring an array of 12 guided missiles and 4 aimable heavy rockets, it can take down ships double its size. The D-13 serves as a makeshift capital ship. It is 45 meters long, and packs around 8500 m/s of dV, with a TWR of around 0.17. It functions also as a troop delivery craft, holding up to 64 crew. It does not feature escape pods, which were deemed an incentive to surrender. A contract design for a small nation which was then sold to the HKA after said small nation annihilated itself in an incident involving missiles hidden on a nearby island. Oh wait... https://kerbalx.com/WorkaroundIndustries/NMS-Glacier-class-capital-ship-D-13 NMS Assault Cruiser DA-1 Blizzard Armed with enough missiles to reduce most targets to space debris, a high power 3-shot linear mass accelerator and a cute little away ship, the Blizzard is designed for service around the Kerbin system, but when outfitted with drop tanks can reach distant targets with ease. It can function under extreme duress, including having the entire front of the ship chopped off by an enemy shot. It also carries a crew of 20, making it suitable for transporting soldiers to other ships. 65 meters in length but packing less than 2500 m/s of delta-vee, it is better suited to near-orbital operations. https://kerbalx.com/WorkaroundIndustries/NMS-Assault-Cruiser-DA-1-Blizzard NMS TFB-2 Forward Command Center-Helicopter Providing accurate radar information is no easy task ordinarily, right? But with the new TFB-2, your crew can provide real-time information to nearby assets on the go. And when they get bored, they can get some target practice, with the helicopter's 2 Hydra rocket turrets. Keep away from open flames and stray bullets. Follow instructions provided: -Press 'Z' for full throttle -Decouple rotor -Enable SAS on the main craft -Wait for engine to spool up -Fly! (keep an eye on the direction it's pointing to stop it from turning off course. -Switch to rotor with ']' or '[' to change the engine's power level. https://kerbalx.com/WorkaroundIndustries/NMS-TFB-2-Helicopter-Command-Center NMS XP-1 Ugly Duckling v3 Designed to make the pilot as sick as possible, the Ugly Duckling is supermaneuverable, making 90 degree turns in an instant. Equipped with minimal countermeasures, it's best used as a secondary attack craft. However, its dodging capacity is fantastic, and its armament is enough to take down the heaviest of targets in a few bursts. Despite being supermaneuverable, it cannot change its direction of movement as rapidly. This allows for doing a 360 and continuing on the same path at almost the same speed, which is cool, but it also causes some unfortunate accidents, especially near the space center's buildings. https://kerbalx.com/WorkaroundIndustries/NMS-Ugly-Duckling-V3 Northern Military Supplies is currently inclined towards the HKA, due to yet another disaster involving a *small* nuclear detonation near out facilities possibly perpetrated by a weapons test by GMI. NMS stands for Northern Military Supplies, an amalgamation of various other private military suppliers and sponsored by both governments. Historically, NMS takes a neutral role in most conflicts, selling weapons to both sides during conflicts. Composed from a wide variety of military companies, we possess unparalleled expertise on many fronts. We currently support the HKA, on the account that our CEO has a hunch that the less-evil guys will win the war.

So, I was attempting an Elcano challenge on my main KSP save. I turn ksp off, and later I come back. I click on the resume save button, and there is nothing but grey. So, I make a new save and transfer all the data in the old one into the new save. This works, and I can play. KSP crashes, and I boot it back up. The save I just made disappeared, which forces me to come to the forums in search of help. I can provide logs if you want.
