So I suppose they're reusing the stage, but aren't bringing it back this time? Well, still, it's another reuse -
Oh.. should've thought of that

?? Both seasons are on Prime, I had to wait for like a year for the 2nd season to get there, and I finished like a week ago. On topic; cool! I haven't read the books, and I'm not really sure what it's about, but more sci-fi is always nice, I'll check this out. Slightly off topic; I heard somewhere they were also looking at ringworld too, right?

Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical questions
Spaceception replied to DAL59's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Well, I was thinking of something that could be long-distance (Many kilometers at least), because the aliens have very rare conflicts due to being so interconnected, and due to their accelerated communication skills, they advanced 6x faster than humanity time-wise. I was wondering if that would be realistic, or if I would have to stray more into the fiction side of things. -
Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical questions

Alrighty, so let's say there's an intelligent alien race that develops on a world with a dim sun, and hazy atmosphere, making visible light vision crap; and let's say they use radar, or sonar, or something similar to communicate with each other - could that evolve, or be technologically developed to be similar to telepathy? Just the communication part, not the whole 'mind reading' or 'psychic' parts. Or would it be just outside the realm of possibility, unlikely, but not completely impossible? Or just straight up impossible? -

Forget the solar system, we could've colonized the galaxy, it would be the most potent fuel source in the universe. -

WHHHHHY I read some of the replies (and lost brain cells in the process), he seems to like painting himself into corners, like he acknowledged satellites, but wouldn't answer how exactly they orbited. I hope he's just a crappy troll. -

Pic of the year, hands down. -
TRAPPIST-1 now has seven planets. (Possible life?)

@ProtoJeb21 So planet d is almost certainly covered in liquid water, and e may be a cooler analog to our blue marble? That sounds amazing -

So... It IS doing a Mars flyby before settling in for a 'billion year orbit' around the Sun? Or is it just hyping it? -

Hmm, I was going for the total area, but dry is probably better. -

No, never read that, or heard of it I just think it's an interesting nearby star, it's size is about as high as you can get with red dwarfs, which is cool. Yeah, but it's smaller than Niven's, and the numbers I got seemed to be a lot higher than it. -

Hey guys, I think I need help double checking my numbers. I'm designing a ringworld (New writing project, in development ), and I'm trying to find the surface area compared to Earth. It orbits Lalande 21185 (not important, just context), at 0.15 AU, it has a 1.41 x 10^11 circumference, a 4,023,360 m width (2500 miles wide, about ~300 miles wider than the moon), and from my numbers, it has an internal surface area of 3,693,284,000,000,000,000 meters. When I tried seeing the land area in relation to the Earth, the numbers were huge, way more than what's probably realistic, so I dropped the '^2' on both sides, and got 95.2623x the land area of Earth, but that doesn't sound right, which is why I'm asking for the actual number, and where I messed up. Or if it is correct, and it's just a lot lower than I expected. Thanks -
I like it, I actually saw it a couple times, and I agree with @Bill Phil, it was sad. Hmm, I don't think I quite get what you mean by 'conspiratory'. Despite the lower budget, I liked the effects, definitely better than Sharknado and stuff . It's been a couple years since I saw it though.

Yep, still only music though. Do you think they'll talk about the FH in this stream? -

EDITS No. In the pics @tater shared, you can see the grid fins/landing legs, but it's not being landed, I think this will be it's 3rd relaunch judging by the 'sooty' look of the booster, am I correct? -

Please please please do the static fire, I can't take the suspense. -
Late high school actually. I don't know if she knows I like her... I'm not. I'm anticipating it somewhat. Okay, I think I see your point. Okay. I've kinda tried that before, but I don't always know how to ask, without making it awkward xD sometimes we do it anyway, and do #IKnowHowToChangeTheTopic or something to joke about it. But not often. Okay.. Really? You think so? I never really considered that... Yeah, I want to send her stuff more often, but shipping prices are ridiculous, about the same or more than the gift itself. So, we may be limited to Birthdays/Christmas and stuff like that. Thank you for the advice, I'll keep it in mind

Alright. It just feels odd, liking her, but her not knowing or anything. But okay.
-
Yep! She asked about my address in November, and then I gave her mine, and she gave me hers. Like I said, we sent each other cards (Personalized ones, her's was really nice), and books on Christmas, and I've read some of her stories over, and 'listened' to her novel ideas. We also help each other out on stuff sometimes.

Oh... I guess so. So, do it before, or after?
