Just imagine the excrementsstorm if steam just ran out of money and shutdown. If I was gabe I would book that oneway ticket to mars the day before I announce it and hope they do not give refunds.
-
You mean pirating or DLC sales? Probably both since the DLC is just as easy to pirate. Steam has its own DRM anyway. What is so bad about KSP1 or even 2 having Steam DRM. Its an actual question because I do not know anything about DRM. Edit: I get the part with multiple installs but if I couldn't have 10 separate game versions on my hard disk I would just copy and paste the game date folder when I need to. Its less convenient but not a major problem since I do it with other games too.

If ksp2 is so easy to mod what is stopping modders from making a private multiplayer mode that uses the mechanics of the official multiplayer anyway? I actually doubt they will lock mods from multiplayer in the first place. Multiplayer as it is is probably not that attractive for the vast majority of KSP players. I would not do anything to make it less popular.

[New] Space Launch System / Orion Discussion Thread

The shuttle was also cool but also useless. To be fair it is still cool looking...... -
[New] Space Launch System / Orion Discussion Thread

Those numbers are nonsensical to me. How the hell can a command module cost 1 billion per flight. That is the same amount as the entire saturn V cost in todays money. I read those things but simply refused to believe those were the real numbers. What do they spend that money on? Coffee machines and giving everyone on the project a mercedes G class as a firm car? -

And somehow I managed to overlook it again...... -
[New] Space Launch System / Orion Discussion Thread

I am reading more and more negative things about costs and cannot separate rumors from the truth. What do some of the more informed people think about the SLS program? Is it really all just political? Ula with Atlas and delta are also extremely political but in fairness they deliver and are exceptional launch systems. Will the launch cost really be 1 billion? That will be basically shuttle 2.0 and we know how that ended. If we take development cost into account it will be more than 2 billion unless the SLS launches very frequently. I do not understand how it can be so expensive to develop a launcher. From what I read it cost 14 billion so far. What are they doing? Apollo was expensive but they delivered and in their defence they basically had to invent every single component of the saturn. -
Making Minmus more challenging
dave1904 replied to desert's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
You should install better time warp and use 15x physics warp. 1 hour burns are finished in 4 min. That's assuming you ever get that far. -
Making Minmus more challenging
dave1904 replied to desert's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Nah, I do the same thing all the time and it doesn't really matter what the inclination is. It's only a matter of timing and not difficulty. It's the same as getting a capture from a polar orbit. (scan sat probs) The way you do it is how I get to gilly and Bob all the time. It does require more effort than Minmus but those kinds of burns are far beyond what early players should be thinking about. 6 degrees is the perfect learning curve. -
Making Minmus more challenging
dave1904 replied to desert's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Every experienced player launches their minmus rocket at the correct inclination so that they are not required to do correction burns anyway. 30 degrees and 7 degrees are basically the same for us. Maybe 50m/s in total? For noobs its probably 250m/s because they launch 0 degrees and burn at the inclination nodes. It only punishes noobs and they are not the ones farming the entire science tree in one launch. They will be forced to learn launching on correct inclinations in KSP2 and it will make the game so hardcore for them. -
@Lisias Everybody borks. — Gregory Kerman. I am a massive house fan and love this

[1.8.1-1] [PLEASE FORK ME] Kopernicus & KittopiaTech
dave1904 replied to Thomas P.'s topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
yeah. I just upgraded to 1.8.1 from 1.5 so its all new to me and I was so surprised how cool it was. OPM for me is stock. It should be part of ksp2. It doesn't feel like a mod. Right now when I open up the galaxy map and sarnus is missing everything feels so dull. I just cannot wait for OPM in ksp2. Modders can go crazy since axial tilt is supported. I hope adding planets is easier for them because kopernicus seems to be alot of work. -
The best designed mission in history imo. Well after Apollo. Maybe they will send orbiters to the outer solar system after Mars rover 20 or 30. In my opinion it is the dullest object in the entire solar system and is basically easy mode.

[1.8.1-1] [PLEASE FORK ME] Kopernicus & KittopiaTech

could planet mods potentially have surface features? -
Maybe that is where I heard it. Anyway I think 5 years for designing and planning an outer system Orbiter is optimistic considering there is nothing being talked about atm. A uranus or neptune Orbiter would be significantly heavier than juno if it is to get there within 10 years. Anyway I will look up the numbers because I have not looked into the details. I'm sure they have already have mission requirements somewhere online. Personally I do not care much about the plants just the moons.
-
I'm not complaining. Just extremely surprised by it. I always assumed he added stuff he wanted to see in game. Considering the details and quality of the mod it is more than just wanting better than stock ksp so it must be a passion. The only thing I wish this mod had was fairings that were fixed. I love being forced to build craft inside a certain fairing sizes especially now that robotic parts are in stock ksp. I do make sure that I keep within the fairing base size however.
-
since you seem to know things about RTGs what is the deal with NASA and them? They had issues getting them for juno if I am not mistaking. My point is we need them in my lifetime since I want a Uranus and maybe even a Neptune orbiter. I am 29 now. It takes 10 years to plan a mission and there are currently no missions planned. That makes me depressed
-
IMO the fairings separate to fast.
-
Again thanks. Love it. I cannot believe I have 3000 hours without it.
-
This is what I want. Cheers.

Got a link? sounds useful.

Are there any mods out there that stop the switching to flags in flight scene?
