Got hit with the dreaded 'landed state' bug. Got the ship up to orbital speed - but no orbit lines; also every time I go back to Tracking Station then revert to the ship, it's down to 10m/s (from 130 - orbiting (not) Minmus). Biome thingy on the left of the screen claims the ship is landed. So - after trying to force the game to get the ship orbiting... I'm down to editing the save. ... What do I use to open it and edit it?

Reported Version: v0.2.0 (latest) | Mods: none | Can replicate without mods? Yes OS: Win 10 | CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x | GPU: 3070 | RAM: 16 Depending on the zoom level the player-camera is around Minmus (at least) the sun goes out. Far zoom: . Map & Tracking Station Can't create a maneuver node within another SOI
JoeSchmuckatelli replied to Emmdh3's question in Map & Tracking
Reported Version: v0.2.0 (latest) | Mods: none | Can replicate without mods? Yes OS: Win 10 | CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x | GPU: 3070 | RAM: 16 I looked for a similar report to add to - having been told this is a 'known issue'. Apologies but I could not find it. Two issues player cannot select the orbital path in the [Body] Focus view. It's evident to the player, and we can illuminate and pin the pe marker - but not interact with the line or place a node in that view. IIRC we usedtacould in a previous build. Would love to see that capability return. attempting to place a node at the pe marker on the craft's orbit lines, or the crossing line at the intercept in space will not allow the player to create a MN that will circularize. Please see this thread for details: Included Attachments: MinIntercept2.json .ipsImage { width: 900px !important; } -
I had something similar around Mun. Disabled engines on craft I was leaving in orbit and landed an Apollo style mission. Returned and docked and now combined craft showed no fuel and would not allow placement of a MN (no fuel). Activated engine, turned on and off docking mode, etc. Did not notice anything about staging. Still unable to create MN. Except. I eyeballed a return and hit 'z' and low and behold the engines lit. Was able to use map view to get a Kerbin pe low enough to aerobrake to the surface. Somehow the systems are not talking to one another.

I've tried this a half dozen times before shutting the game down in frustration. It's either another PBKAC or a bug. Appreciate insights. Here we are trying to capture at Minmus. Two things I've noticed: I can focus Minmus - but not interact with the transit line in that view (pe marker on the left) - no MN placement in that view I can only place the MN on the path from the ship at its Minmus PE (not the one that shows around Minmus - the one in spaaaace along the blue orbital path leaving Kerbin) I can place nodes on the short section that crosses at the Minmus pe - or along the orbital path and neither seem to change what's bugging me I cannot get a capture. Should be about 200 delta v to capture at Minmus. Everything I try gets me the orange line ether adjusting my orbit around Kerbin, intersecting the Mun or leaving the system entirely. I've run the DV from 150 to 1500 at multiple places (because Minmus pe wasn't working). Sliding the MN along both the orbital path or the crossing intercept path. I've reverted saves several times and tried different insertions. Nothing seems to be letting me capture. I've run the Minmus pe to both sides of the moon, tried it at 4k meters and several hundred thousand meters (and various places between). Nothing will circularize. IIRC - going back to memory from March/April - we used to be able to set a maneuver node in [Body] Focus (the left pe tab showing Minmus' SOI ). Can't do that in this build apparently. So I'm stuck trying to get the MN placed at the other pe marker (right side). Still, nothing I do is working. So. What am I missing? Bug or another PBKAC for the day?

Cudos also to whomever fixed the minor but annoying way that Farings used to deploy; just had a Cockleshell separate into four different pieces and drift slowly off into the good night. Not a major thing - but it was beautiful to watch; much better than the old 90 degree fall to Kerbin!

Don't know the correct term - but when the altitude meter gets to the 'space' part of the slider, the navball goes from Blue Up to Black Up - what I call 'Night Mode'. I've noticed on several flights now that the NavBall 'jumps' or rather my angle of attack gets suddenly flatter than it had under the previous animation. Anyone else seeing this?

Boeing 7*7: the saga continues…
JoeSchmuckatelli replied to Nightside's topic in Science & Spaceflight
No - some hop from a hub to a destination. American, I think. -

We had early suggestions (during development) that they only allow blobby images of the other worlds until players had visited them. Would have been cool. Probably a pain to code, though, given what little I've gleaned of how they've struggled with planets and performance. -

Flew one of those home a couple of days ago... the stew kept looking at the door and commenting 'that looks weird'. Thankfully, nothing exciting happened. Also - re the pic above: row 26 does not look like an exit row. (or rather, not a planned exit row) -
Flight Fuel Doesnt Appear In Tanks After Docking
JoeSchmuckatelli replied to JoeSchmuckatelli's topic in v0.2.0
It may be pertinent to know that despite not being able to set a Maneuver Node - activating the engines did work; ship still had 'no fuel' as far as Maneuver planning went - but I did get the Kerbal home by eyeballing an intercept and burining in map view until I got the Kerbin PE I wanted. Thus - some part of the game knew I had fuel while others did not. Somehow the two systems are not talking to each other. -

I'm getting the same impression. The Colonies / Resource Management parts of the game seem to be what the team themselves is most interested in. I'm also looking forward to those aspects of the game. And I agree - they do need to keep developing the core aspects. I'm just hoping that after all is said and done, Science! gets another pass, perhaps as a DLC (ala KSP). -

I wasn't able to add files here so I created a second report as suggested. Thank you. -

Do static fires experience Max Q? By the way - if using a candle for market prediction, is it better to use scented or pure beeswax? -
Agree completely. There is no way something that is weighed in grains will have the explosive force of a grenade. Fantasy / magic bullets. OP - when your life is on the line, you improvise adapt and overcome. Insurgent tactics. Human history is replete with stories of asymmetric warfare and fighters surviving (and dying) against far more powerful opponents. Start reading about Vietnam, Afghanistan or Ukraine for the modern examples.

Clearly - but that just adds to my impression that Science is merely notional in the game. -
Heating - what is it about the 60s?
JoeSchmuckatelli replied to JoeSchmuckatelli's topic in KSP2 Discussion
I have not paid that close attention What seemed odd to me was that I was coasting and below the altitude nothing seemed that hot but within a 60-65km band certain parts got hot when others did not -

I will look. Can I just drop the save file here - or do I need to load it elsewhere? -
Workspaces and Ships - What am I missing?
JoeSchmuckatelli replied to JoeSchmuckatelli's topic in KSP2 Discussion
Honestly, don't know. I typically overbuild everything - and rely upon the completed craft's Engineer Report to tell me whether I've at least got a positive TWR with the full ship. Probably not a skill move - but definitely Neanderthal -
Serious props on the performance improvements!
JoeSchmuckatelli replied to JoeSchmuckatelli's topic in KSP2 Discussion
Seriously, team... Falling into Kerbin (now) with all the improvements and FPS is FREAKING BEAUTIFUL! (Returning from Mun... and my Kerbals are seriously glad to be going home.) Artwork and performance is great!
