  1. Mars One? I thought it's been clear that they're a scam? And why's everyone giving up on NASA? They're the ones who even came up with the whole Journey to Mars idea.. I'll always believe in them, and in my opinion they will get there with the help of Space X and other agencies and countries.
  2. Congratulations guys, you deserve much more than just 100,000!
  3. Nothing much to show off with, I've been only playing since the 0.90 and I kept constantly leaving the game so, 0.90 stock, 1.0.2 modded, 1.0.4 modded and 1.0.5 modded. Once I settle down with 1.0.5 (I have some mods that don't work with 1.0.5 so) I'm gonna probably delete them because my potato doesn't have a lot of storage.
  4. Yeah I've heard of the boosts, that also made me wonder how a "high" 400km orbit would experience that much drag but yeah I was unaware of the size comparison ;p thanks everyone.
  5. Come on, you gotta pick for the mistakes? It's an amazing movie, watched it at 3 AM and screwed my routine up. Worth it.
  6. Yeah why not, it's a pretty good idea and a great way to save money! On a side note may I ask if it's possible to use parachutes on the rockets rather than the way SpaceX lands it?
  7. And yet I still sometimes fail to orbit. Hahaha epic!
  8. God I really hope they do manage to fix it. 2018 damn.. best of luck to the guys at NASA and to everyone contributing to InSight.
  9. I believe he meant how it would actually look like to see the whole Milky Way from afar but you're right, the views from dark skies are fascinating (never got to see one, stupid cities :/)
  10. Ohh I never looked at Kerbin's diameter lol. Thanks guys, makes sense now ;p P.S: I missed the ISS -.- my android app is supposed to ring when there's a sighting. It rang at 6:10 PM while the ISS was visible from 6:00 PM to 6:02 PM. Gonna uninstall the app I guess ;p
  11. Well my main question is the views from orbit. So I recently found out that the ISS is at a 400km orbit (lol) but when you look at pictures taken from the ISS and compare them to KSP, you need to be in a 70km orbit (in KSP) to get the same view. So what am I missing here? LEO apparently reaches out to 500km orbits, how is that a "low" orbit? Thanks in advance. (ISS is visible in my sky in 5 mins, as @Sanic says.. gotta go fast!)
  12. WHAT?! Are you serious? I didn't get to see Curiosity's landing (because I was an idiot and I was never interested in astronomy, I swear if I go back in time and meet the old me I would beat the crap out of him) and now this one's delayed? God damn dude.
  13. Wouldn't the journey to Mars be quicker if we delay all of those operations and work together on the journey itself? But nevertheless they're pretty dope. There's also a rover (lander, sorry) planned in 2016 (delayed, sorry again) that'll be launched by NASA with collaboration of many other countries and space agencies (Insight). I even sent my name on it ;p (not really, rather my name is in a chip stored in the rover lander, so, my binary name is there. yay!) EDIT: By collaboration I mean the rover (lander) itself. I'm not sure who's rocket will launch it.
  14. Putting how the Milky Way would look like aside, the view would be rather.. boring.. if not scary. All the stars we see at night are only a small part of the Milky Way (except the visible galaxies like Andromeda, Triangulum, the Magellanic clouds..) so we would really only see blackness, and the mentioned galaxies (and of course the Milky Way itself). No one is sure of how the Milky Way REALLY looks like but it would most likely look like the pictures we see of it (the artist renders). It might be a bit dim because of our eye exposure, but if you're close enough, it would probably look better than ever. Furthermore, NGC 6744 is the most similar galaxy to the Milky Way known to date (of course that's if our Milky Way looks like we imagine it) so the view would probably look like this galaxy does. Here's a great picture of it. I think if you remove the stars in the background, that's how our home would look like. And if you're far from it, it would probably look like Andromeda from here, just a small and dim object. Damn, how small are we.. EDIT: But now that I think of it, we'd only see the stars closest to us and the brightest ones without a camera exposure so the view would probably be.. not impressive?
  15. Hahaha that was epic, how'd you find that ;p
  16. Feels bad to be late but.. holy hell! They really did it! Space X style, efficient and smooth. This and the NASA budget announcement totally made my day. Space science IS moving forward. #astronomy4life
  17. NOT online multiplayer, rather at least the ability to create a LAN server. I'm dying to play the game with my brother and cooperate in missions. And IF online, I don't think a server with a capacity larger than 4 would go well. It works, I know, but it won't be good. Just my 2 cents on this.
  18. I had a journey to Duna where I wanted to land my Kerbals on the surface and do their stuff, and meanwhile send a small station to bring them back. But I wish they even landed. I had parachutes and some engines but after deploying the parachutes I already found myself dropping huge amounts of speed so I thought let's just turn the engines off and save them for the return. The ship was too heavy for the parachutes I guess? Or I was going too fast, I dunno, but once the parachutes opened up the whole ship got ripped apart, watching parts exploding and flying in different directions. The capsule survived from the explosions... unfortunately. As the poor Kerbals knew they were dead, falling at a high speed.. boom. God bless quicksaves.
  19. Well never mind.. reinstalling the game fixed it for me. I'm running the same mods again except the EVA Follower one. I'll try to run it and see if the problem happens again
  20. Me too, I know that feel..
  21. He's just orbiting around Kerbin in a station. Chilling out. But I have a one hell of a mission saved for him (mwahahaha)
  22. Alright so these screenies will describe the problem well. I'm making a big station project and so far it seems to be going well, got the first part up. Now things go BAD when I decide to EVA (seriously..) as they can't be controlled anymore. See the screenshots below (don't ask about the lights. I'm trying to make it visible from the ground using DistantObject so it gotta shine bright like a diamond): As you see, it's pretty annoying. Now here's the rub, this actually didn't happen until I moved Jeb (he was in the Cupola) to the science lab and made Val take his place. If I EVA Jeb while he's is in the Cupola it works just fine. Otherwise.. as you see. Here's a list (long one? yep) of my installed mods. (there are some EVA related mods so could it be them?) -ATM (Active Texture Managment) -ASET (ALCOR lander) -AtmosphericSoundEnhancement -Chatterer -DistantObject -ForceIVA (it gives an EVA first person view, but I don't think it's causing this) -RasterPropMonitor -Kopernicus -Mechjeb2 -MSD (EVA follower) (now this is the one I suspect. It gives the ability to make other Kerbals follow the one you're controlling) -OPM (Outer Planets Mod) -ProbeControlRoom -Planetshine -TextureReplacer -TriggerTech (Kerbal Alarm Clock) -Vesselview (sorry for the long list, darn those gaps) That's pretty much it. Any bright ideas on what's causing that? I'm dying to get it fixed.. I didn't try to remove any mods yet. By the way when Val first goes EVA it says "press space to let go" you know that one. When I do, stage separation -.-
  23. 'Tea' in team. Hell yeah! I'm sure if teams drink tea together it will make their bonds stronger ;p Nice. Pretty sure it took you lots of time though. Good job dude.
