not a myth but feel tricked by the headline: weasel shuts down lhc, me thinking "oh a weasel causing a ruckus in the LHC how funny" no turns out it got electrocuted http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-36173247

as said above essentially no becuse gravity is stronger, however things do get weird if expansion occurs again (where growth occurs faster than the speed of light) where gravity (assumed to be transmitted at the speed of light) would either accelerate too (no change) or stay the same (an stuff will be stretched) but this is all very edge of field stuff and i don't know enough to really weigh in

I just made one, drive to Cambridge uk and have a slice

I think this thread needs to be brought back to the front page! Thanks to the mod makers this game has become infinite in scope and potential! A special thanks to those who make the mods that sit in the background allowing other things to happen (e.g. module manager and kopernicus!)

What is your biggest science pet peeve in movies?
Kertech replied to todofwar's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Loving the article! To be stealthy in space, don't be in space... -

Kingsman is a fun film, but the but at the end where a girl ascends on a balloon; targets a satellite for about a minute with it appearing stationary and hitting it just annoyed me! -
I didn't play much today, was busy seeing which mods would fight to the death when put in the same instal... Also was amazed when a thread I started was closed after breaking 3 barred areas of discussion simultaneously! (Which I agree with entirely, was not watching it)

[1.1][1.1-1] Apr-19-2016 Dynamic Texture Loader
Kertech replied to rbray89's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
It keeps crashing with me, it was the only mod on a stock install, do you want the error file? -
When you are asked by someone (or just rambling on about something...) how do you justify space programs, is it the doomseer, is it science, is it exploration or is it the cool rockets etc... got asked the other day why we fund space research when people are starving on earth!

What can you do with galaxy sized computers?
Kertech replied to RainDreamer's topic in Science & Spaceflight
it's also reminding me of the computer from the fourth book whose name eludes me... also with a galaxy sized computer i'd program it to prove it doesn't exist -

it's called deepthought and the answer is: -
Batman work out video (to fight fat you must become fat...) Professor X could put targeted advertising right into a persons mind...
-
why not float it in air then (I want cloud city!!!)
-
only just found out about the release...

Umm just a suggestion but you might wanna put spoiler warnings here Sorry can't help with the question though

Hey just wondering where Dev notes are, I understand being busy with other things, just normally there's a message.

Chlorine is too reactive to remain in gaseous form for very long, so really unlikely to be present in high enough concentrations to be toxic. I prefer Hydrogen sulphide (which is also a greenhouse gas so would be a nice blanket), ammonia or Carbon monoxide (which would be a killer assuming human like oxygen carriage in trace amounts)

I Uninstalled 1.1, until DTL gets updated for 1.1 it's unplayable on my laptop. Then installed a whole tone of mods (decided to do a career with all of Roverdudes mods cause i know they'll be ready when I decide to switch permanently!) Also set up my first remote tech coms network (the newtwork) which quickly got out of sync cause I got the orbits wrong, so set up the newtwork two, which then needed munar upgrades (so remote tech was my entire gameplay!)

Letting the ISS burn up......Why?
Kertech replied to Vaporized Steel's topic in Science & Spaceflight
How is russia planning on removing its parts, I thought they were pretty well plumbed in, so any disassembly would require Days of spacewalks (which are not taken lightly for hours) -
What is your biggest science pet peeve in movies?
Kertech replied to todofwar's topic in Science & Spaceflight
This one made me have to leave the cinema I know mission impossible is not the most accurate films (or anywhere near realism) but in the most recent one Tom cruise swims to try and open some vault and has an oxygen meter on his arm counting down to 0%. Realistically it's blood CO2 that woud kill him long before hypoxaemia. What got me was they could have easily just given him a CO2 monito and say at some arbitary unit (or scale to perecentage) he'll die, still would have had the same effect! -
Does anyone actually use the first level runway?
Kertech replied to Prasiatko's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I use the lemming approach to getting airborne (driving off the end of the runway) so the level 1 is a taxiway till the last 30odd meters... -
We're in the running for an education award! (Vote here!)
Kertech replied to NathanKell's topic in KSP1 Discussion
So last night (BST) I voted for ksp on the graphte award thing and the vote split was 51% ksp, come and look at it now and it's suddenly 75% ksp. After last nights post about it I get that distinct feeling that the community is probably responsible (good job peoples!) I felt a bit uncomfortable at first thinking that we're mucking up an education based award, but then thought how much I learnt from KSP. Also their description basically says, "get students to look to the ksp online community for help". So GREAT job peoples and SQUAD -
Kerbal Space Program 1.1 Hype Train Thread.
Kertech replied to Whirligig Girl's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Tapping "." Repeatedly to physics warp the installation time away!
