UPDATE: Please ignore my previous post. ...Switching KSP versions is hard. On another note, I have an idea. Why not try something like Adjustable Landing Gear, but have different types, like the flotation pods one sees on an SH-3, or angled/offset ones like on an F/A-18? I love this mod, BTW

What other mods are known to interfere with this? Also, does it work in 1.2.2 or not? There are a few different opinions. Curse says it works in 1.2. Spacedock says 1.2.2. It's not on CKAN for 1.2.2, but it was for 1.2.1. Just a little confused. EDIT: I re-ran 1.2.2 and all the parts are there... I think. I've got the C-130 parts.

Banned for liking a waste of engineering

Banned for avatar being a ridiculous suborbital not-spaceplane. SSTSOT, anyone?
-
Banned for ultra-horizontally compressed .gif that still looks good, somehow

Yeah, in the middle, it's raised, not the back -
Boeing/Saab T-X 'Clean-Sheet' Design
EVA_Reentry replied to EVA_Reentry's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Nice! I've got a think for solar cockpits. It does look quite a bit like the Hornet, especially from below. The cockpit is a wee bit more raised than that, I believe -
Neat. I first learned how with rovers on land, then boats. Rather unconventional, but easier than risking funds (and kerbals) in space, so...

Meh/10 Words, but I happen to like that quote

So, Boeing rolled out their proposal for the USAF's T-X program. It's a nice, clean plane, and I wonder if someone can do a nice replica. Will SpaceX repaint ASDS's?
EVA_Reentry replied to Mad Rocket Scientist's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Hope this isn't a necro or anything, but I thought LOx was at the bottom... I've never seen a diagram/cutaway of any F9 variant indicating LOx on top. Thinking about it, I can see why it would make sense, but is that a constant with all rockets? -

Alternate pump/compressor designs for turbopumps
EVA_Reentry posted a topic in Science & Spaceflight
So. KSP has got me interested in designing (not making, but designing) liquid rocket engines. From my research, it seems that turbopumps have been limited to two types of pumps: axial, or centrifugal. However, there are other types of pumps for which I can't see any issues with besides RPM (and that can be solved with clever drive-shaft modifications). These are: 1. A staged Roots compressor- which has the advantage of creating a high amount of pressure while reducing risk of sloshing 2. A scroll compressor- which is compact, lightweight, and relatively efficient, making it a good candidate for upper stage and transfer engines Any ideas you have, I would love to hear. What do you think? -
UPDATE: F-2 Thunderhawk VGA has been released! https://kerbalx.com/eva_reentry/AA-F-2B-Thunderhawk-VGA
-
oh, that's smart. Okay. Hang on. F-2B VG is coming up

@Rath-- yes, i do have a variable-geometry variant, but that adds another mod (stock hinges ain't my thing) and in high-g turns, they flap. If you really want, I can post a download
-
Well... i like that cockpit, but M2X and Moar can be removed. Tweakscale, on the other hand... meh

Introducing the F-2 Thunderhawk, a Mach 1+ interceptor It's stats are on view here. It can turn at a maximum of 10 gs when at ~250 m/s. It is very easy to modify for a variety of missions, such as attack, bomber, ELINT, AWACS, etc. It's creation was a complete accident. I was going for an F-14 or B-1-ish look, form over function, and when I launched, it flew like a beast. A few modifications later, I came to this. Modlist: Quiztech Aero M2X Moar Mk1 (Can be removed upon popular request) Download: https://kerbalx.com/eva_reentry/AA-F-2-Thunderhawk Enjoy!
