  1. I've got the SpaceX stream pulled up on the new computer, along with both forum tabs. I'm in the process of getting the JAXA stream up on the older computer. The keyboard is going across my lap so I can play "The Final Countdown" so I synchronizes with both launches.
  2. Even if it isn't, it's still the second closest and the closest in my lifetime, so it will be amazing either way! Do you know which launches those two were?
  3. WOAH. This is going to be epic! Also, the H-IIA and the Falcon are launching 61 seconds apart if all goes well tonight! If my source is correct, this will be the shortest delay between two orbital launches ever!
  4. *Crosses fingers that H-IIA is delayed by 61 seconds* I heard that these two launches will actually be the fastest consecutive orbital launches ever. I may be wrong on that, but I find it pretty likely!

    Goat

Google translate is giving me "man" for Uomo in italian and "goat" for capra in romanian. Italian Romanian Man-Goat?
  6. @tater, you have won the ninja award. I was about to post that and three seconds before I do I see the notification that you have replied! I think I see a camera mount on the front there...
  7. To the website thing: I like SpaceFlightNow for looking up launches. To the H-II launch: If it continues with no delays, it will be launched exactly 61 seconds after the Falcon 9 according to the launch times on SFN. Knowing Elon, he might try to move the launch back 61 seconds to have perfect sync... However this is an instantaneous launch window, so unfortunately won't happen. To the whole "fins but no legs thing," good question. Maybe they want to expend the stage but try and soft land it in the ocean just because they want more data? Or is it something cooler? Or less cool?
  8. I'd ride the next test flight if they let me! They've got 100% success for the capsule unless they're keeping something secret, I'd take my chances!
  9. If you don't mind me changing the subject from crazy dreams to, well, happy-sad dreams... I've posted this elsewhere but I think this fits here as well. I had a dream a long time ago where I was on board the International Space Station. I know it was a realistic representation because it had Kibo and that little odd cylinder that sticks out of Kibo... Anyways, I was sitting in the Cupola, strumming the guitar that's up there, staring out at the Earth below, with my crush sitting there with me. I couldn't remember the rest of it, but even just that is the happiest dream I've ever had. So happy, in fact, that I was unable to will myself to come out of it. I wanted to stay in bed all day and relive what I could. I wanted to go there. Which is why I got out of bed a few minutes before school started, didn't have breakfast, and just barely didn't make it to class on time, meaning I had a detention (I don't usually get those, everyone was wondering what I was doing in the detention room) and I then proceeded to have the worst day I've ever had in my life. Not because of any huge reason, but the dozens and dozens of small reasons piling on top of each other, over and over, and over again. That night I had another epic dream. This time it was me with my friends, who were actually being good friends. We were happy, involved, and exploring a gigantic old warehouse full of secrets at every turn in a dramatic hilly green landscape. Then I woke up again, out of the second most wonderful dream I had, and went to school again. I had a slightly better day than the last, but it was still pretty bad for various reasons. The next night I had another dream. I do not remember a single moment of it. But I woke up with that feeling - the feeling where you know you just had an amazingly epic and amazing dream. The feeling was stronger than ever before, leading me to think that had I remembered it, it would have been the best dream I have ever had. And then I had another bad day. I wish I could just go back into my dreams forever. Real life is too depressing, scary, boring, maddening, and destructive for me to handle at times. I want to go back so badly... Sometimes I feel like I have lived more in those dreams than I have in my entire existence... If only... But I guess I'm stuck here for now. Waiting for the next escape from reality...
  10. I think this would be an excellent idea. I have no idea how easy (or impossible) this would be to add, but I support it! Also, out of likes, so...
  11. Wait, this is the last Zenit? Like, ever? Wait, didn't something happen in the country where they made those that necessitated stopping production? Is it permanent or temporary? Or am I just reading too much into that?
  12. WOAH. It's happening!!! I wonder why they aren't showing the second stage/fairing, but that view of 27 engines is just so amazing!
  13. If I could successfully pull off one act of graffiti without being caught, I'd rename this boat to "Mr. Ultimate Steven." Or "FairingMcFairingFace."
  14. Unfortunately, the one in South Dakota is disarmed (IIRC) and Cassini used one of the big Titan IV's. Question: How exactly would one ask someone out? And any date ideas? I'm stuck in a small town without a driver's license, so...
  15. I've recently 3D printed a few things! We have this project where we need to make a hydraulic system thing using syringes. However, something meant we needed to build a 3 way connector for the tubes to go in, so we decided to 3D print it. The first one did not work. The second one (with support structure this time) didn't work because the walls were too thin to register. The third one would have worked, but the computer shut off halfway through printing. On the fourth one there was a wall that we had to drill through, but it came out okay. Except it's not watertight and we're not going to use it at all! Yay! Also, if you look at SpaceFlightNow, there is currently a Falcon 9 launch and a H-IIA launch scheduled for the 22nd my time. And these launches are scheduled to happen 61 seconds apart. I really hope they don't slip, if so it would be awesome to have the two livestreams up next to each other!
  16. Don't forget trying to find an old Titan booster lying around somewhere. And don't forget to only maintain contact with the probe for a few hours. Oh, yeah, and don't forget to crash into Saturn on September 15. That's an important one. And write a song about it.
  17. Reminds me of something I'm doing as part of an Eve rescue mission. It includes two small rovers which have wings that jettison. Great chapter as usual! Can't wait for that first conversation!
  18. Heh, reminds me of another girl I really like who actually lives 500 miles away from me... *I'm gonna be starts playing in the background*
  19. A bunch of nerds with no social life trying to give advice to one another about how to have a social life? Yeah, sign me up!
