Loading up a video every time you click launch is too much. Instead, they could have pictures that display during the loading screens! - Launching a rocket shows a rocket on a crawler, covered up by a tarp - Launching a plane shows a shot of a runway Kerbal (the ones with the glow-sticks?) - Loading the tracking station shows a mission-control like building with computers displaying loading screens

The Ass Kraken Strikes
dryer_lint replied to waterlubber's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
I'm assuming this is the equivalent of a massive nuclear explosion hitting the KSC and wiping out your stuff. Sorry -
*physics* How can a bullet blast a crater in a hill? I snatch your wimpy bullet and replace it with Eeloo, moving at 200 kilometers per second. The power of HyperEdit! My destroyed Tylo-Eeloo (Tyloo) object.

Is anyone else thinking that the buildings are not resilient enough?

Well, I just spent 15 minutes flinging planes and gigantic booster-trucks at the SPH. No dent. -
Your mouth explodes. Laythe can't fit in there! My debris of Tery's mouth.

Sorry, but your industry is broken.

Competitive game type?
dryer_lint replied to SplitJugular's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Once they add multiplayer, I'm sure someone could organize this with HyperEdit or their own mod. Great idea though, multiplayer opens up so many opportunities -
Yes, cameras would be a great addition. I mean, if they made a new Mars rover, would people be talking about the on-board Goo Exposure Unit? Or its state-of-the-art Thermometer? No, they get excited about the cameras. This would add a lot of depth to the game. You could get science based on how much of the object or surface is visible, and a rep bonus when you transmit the picture (I don't think it needs a whole new strategy though). There could be an orbital telescope as well, which requires precise aiming... the possibilities!

Yes. I am ready to be ready to... what was it again? *reads paper* WAIT NEVER MIND I'M NOT READY Welcome to my panic room, how tough are you?

They're way too random, although it kind of makes sense when you consider placement. The Admin Building explodes easily and goes up like it's made of dynamite, but the VAB takes several ICBMs to destroy -
I'm so tough that I rammed my head into a brick wall 97 times this morning and only suffered minor brain damage. Welcome to fairy land, how tough are you, mister coconut head? *starts humming song and crossing eyes*

It's Wernher.

Considering that there's no negative effect there, I'm pressing it. Press this button to make something happen. You don't know what will happen, but something will happen. The button, it tempts you.

is this normal ? (adm. strategies)
dryer_lint replied to FajarTriRamadhan's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
The problem is that Outsourced R&D is really overpowered. You can finish the tech tree without leaving the Kerbin system- Wait, what am I saying? Using contracts and patience, you could probably finish it without ever getting into ORBIT. That would make a nice challenge -
Plot twist conspiracy theory: The Kerbals are actually aliens who crash-landed on a post-apocalyptic Earth and named it Kerbin. Their only base is the KSC, which is being used to launch exploratory missions to the other planets. The life support and living quarters are in the R&D and Astronaut Complex, as well as some underground stuff. there are so many problems with what I just said

No. I haven't even started hyping 0.26, so it doesn't really matter I guess Press to rewind your life 3 years

Just plop him into a rocket and send him to the Island Airfield with some Sepratrons to play around with. Now we know how the place got destroyed, I guess. And yeah, Bill and Bob don't get much respect. The way I see it, Jeb is the one who pilots big space exploration missions. Bill flies atmospheric planes, and Bob is the scientist who usually stays in the co-pilot seat. I kind of like Bob, though.

When you hear about a risky NASA mission and catch yourself thinking "why don't they just quicksa- oh wait" -
This is amazing. I wonder what regex would say

I tried to blow up the KSC. Emphasis on tried: it was surprisingly hard. Weird thing is that some of the buildings explode with a small touch, and some of them required me to bring out the massive SRB-propelled truck. Since all of this was done with suicide drones and the SRB truck, I've saved the Spaceplane Hangar for last. We'll see how it goes!

Well... I'm one of the Kerbal scientists. Not in the mobile lab
