From your perspective I guess the server seemed less then ideal, from my perspective, it seemed fine... I know there is a little down time once in a while, but nothing intolerable. I don't think you needed to go through the trouble and extra expense. Your site and the service it provides to the modding community is invaluable!! Thanks!!

KAS has a winch that can launch or "eject" an attached harpoon. I was wondering if anyone could make a "Harpoon Gun" based on this? I have tried modifying the cfg file for the winch to get my desired effect, but it isn't working the way I would like. I would like to be able to launch the harpoon much faster and for a little longer distance.

Then I am betting that is the cause. To attempt to solve it on my install, I cobbled together an MM patch that applies an intensity curve (I copied from the newest master branch of GPP on Github) to all items in my GameData folder that have "Template = Sun" and at first look, it seems to take care of it... (that, and I shamefully removed Grannus from my install of GPP/GPP_Secondary) -

Do you have any planet packs installed? or extra Solar systems? This error, I believe..., can be caused by a second sun out there somewhere. Index your Gamedata folder, then do a search for "Template = Sun" -
CKAN works very well for many many people, and I guess CKAN users find it pretty simple and reliable. So I would say make a list of your mods, delete them and reinstall with CKAN. I run 112 mods (Ive slimmed down )... and that is not alot compared to many of the guys here... but I have never had good luck with CKAN. I've tried it on two separate occasions and just made a mess of everything... now I use KSP-AVC to tell me when a mod has an update available. That works for about 80% of my mods. For the remaining, I check Spacedock, Curse, and the Add-on releases section of the forums and install updates one at a time. Make a backup of your career save file!! Trust me.

I had some issues with Better Time Warp too, here is how I fixed it: 1. reinstall BTW 2. make the settings all normal/stock again. 3. save game. 4. exit game and delete BTW. 5. restart game and test. This worked for me. But I have since reinstalled it- 7,371 replies
