The Linux Thread!
sal_vager replied to sal_vager's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
KSP on Linux is slower than on Windows, it's probably due to Unity's support for openGL more than anything else :/ -

Yeah, totally agree with that, actually both the Linux and OSX support forums (if they existed) could serve both modded and unmodded players, it's only really an issue with Windows due to the large number of Windows users. -

Thanks skeevy, I'd like per-OS support area's but I it was decided to keep it all together and just have modded/unmodded, this may change in the future though. I'll update the post with that data, thanks -
For Imgur albums, use the [imgUR ] [/imgUR ] tags and do not put the album image number in the tags or it'll be cropped. Just do it right and all is good

There's so much 2.3B in here it's silly, guys, arguing over things like this just generates hot air and bad feelings, I think it's time to move on to other subjects.

The elite craft challange
sal_vager replied to lukeoftheaura's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
We don't have stock lasers in KSP, so this challenge should really be re-thought, please see the challenge submission guidelines and I expect participants would like to see your attempt before submitting their own -

Why don't you try adding more reactors for more power? Just a thought -
Frozen, items still clickable
sal_vager replied to CactusLynx's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
There's another log called the output_log.txt that may show other stuff, the KSP.log misses some things out, look in the ksp_data folder. -
Can you please start the KSP.exe directly with no command line arguments and post the logs from that for us, the logs you have uploaded are from starting KSP with the launcher and using openGL mode. It may help to see the normal logs. Do you also have issues when starting KSP via the Steam launcher?

Is it doing this all the time CactusLynx or just the once? And did you save the logs so we can look for what went wrong? Please see the support stickies for info on the logs -
Whoops, Pitivi seems to not have any windows builds yet, so take a look at VideoLAN movie Creator instead, it's fee and cross platform
-
Open Broadcaster is a free recording program, and Pitivi can edit videos

Games not finished buddy, can't expect perfect balance right away

I'll fix that link, thanks for posting this though, especially for Europe, stuff like this really helps people interested in the starts
-
lajoswinkler, did you test that link? All I see is a URL squatting domain registration page.

Naughty...

Hi Higgs, I'll try to answer... It's known as necroposting, basically it's bringing a dead thread back to life with a new post many months or even years after it last saw any activity. It's something that many online communities don't like, I'd actually never heard of it before coming to these forums and didn't really see it as an issue as long as the post is adding something valuable, sometimes a thread can really bounce back and get a good discussion going, other times all we see is a "+1!" or similar rather pointless reply that just has no value. Most of the time though it's better to start a new thread and then link back to the original, this helps keep things fresh and puts the new post at the forefront instead of buried 20 pages in, so it's what we recommend members do. Necroposting upsets members so much we've had to put in a rule for it, which I'll repost here: Now, when a necro'd thread pops up I like to leave it and see if things pick up, but like I said they can upset people, and when that starts happening it's just better to close it and move on before it turns into pages of "dude you necro'd". You're more than welcome to post but please be mindful of the age of a thread, sometimes it really is better to start a new one

Is anyone else thinking that the buildings are not resilient enough?
sal_vager replied to Jatwaa's topic in KSP1 Discussion
You know Kerbals aren't real right? Anyway, this is just the state of the buildings as they stand (or not stand if you've hit them) now, they can be tweaked in future updates.
