  1. Just be more careful guys, you know Kerbals make everything out of explosive materials, even the runway Don't forget those launch clamps, and think about structural panels to spread the load/take the heat from the engines
  2. Always check to see if an issue was a one-off, if it can't be reproduced we can't help, also, 2 years old? You crazy, closing!
  3. Jetpacks aren't just simpler from a design perspective, they are extremely cool and fun to use, not just in space but also on low gravity worlds to traverse the landscape or to gain access to the craft that brought you there, neither of which are possible with a tether system. Tethers are also not very easy to use, NASA astronauts do not go around firing grappling hooks into all available surfaces, they have a line already attached, not much use if moving from one craft to another on EVA. There is one highly experimental game that I know of that does use tethers however and that is a very weird game on Humble store where you explore a procedurally generated landscape in zero-G, [Edit, it's called NOWHERE] control in that game looks interesting but not very useful for KSP, the only other games that I know of that use ropes tend to be 2D affairs. Ropes in KSP may be nice but are too niche of a movement mechanism to expect the developers to spend any time on, it'll fall to the modding community for this one
  4. Yeah this is intentional and not a bug, it's not going to be changed sorry. Some things are unaffected though such as RCS, all you have to do is set thrust damage to false in the part.cfg if you're bothered by it
  5. The store version has the launcher, which can download the patcher, just delete the GameData folder and run the launcher, it'll ask for your store login and password then fix the game for you
  6. This looked so much like another thread that I could not tell the difference, so I've merged them to stop the double vision

  8. You will have a ground contact error in your logs and the debug window (Alt+F2) because Bill cannot touch the floor. Make a quicksave and back it up, then look for Bill in the file, you'll need to mess with the position data for him and try to move him sideways. Change the lat or lon values a bit, save the file and then quickload it to see where he is, if he moves far enough he'll fall to the ground and should get up normally
  9. I would not have gotten into KSP were it not for the demo, it was version 0.13.2 at the time. I like many others need demos to see if a game will even work on our systems, and it's much better to have a go yourself than to watch a demo vid, will the game work? No way to know, it's not running on my hardware. Also it helped that KSP rocks, there's always that feeing of making just one more orbit
  10. If you start the Steam version via the Steam launcher it'll know KSP is running and complain if you try to close Steam while KSP is still active. But if you start KSP via the executable/binary it'll have no hold over you
  11. Please ask Unity to increase their efforts at making a stable 64bit version for Windows Oh and while you're at it, ask for 64bit OSX support for our Apple users.
  12. Too many addons not enough addressable memory, try forcing openGL mode maybe.
  13. If you have wing control surfaces you can benefit from the infiniglide bug and gain speed but the effect is not strong, other than that though no, it should not really change your speed at all
  14. Apparently we don't need them any more toril, the more recent versions of Unity fixed that issue
  15. Oh man, I tried to get KSP to work in Virtualbox, but no go, the provided gfx driver just can't do it. Supposedly it's possible to make it use your gfx card directly but the only examples I've seen only support dx7.
  16. Can we see the crafts and your logs please? We can't tell anything from what you've posted.
  17. I can edit the file here on Linux so yeah it may be DEP preventing you from saving the edits.
  18. Landing gear has mass now, it may have been enough to move the CoM and confuse the rapiers.
  19. Working for me, have you tried rebuilding your craft?
  20. You need to post the files elsewhere then post the links here CremionisD
  21. Old settings.cfg files had to be deleted and replaced, it's best to make a new one instead of trying to force KSP to use an old one.
  22. Closest thing is the trim control I think, modkey (alt on Windows) + direction until you reach the deflection you want
  23. How about you actually try it before passing judgement? Just a thought Closing for being a trifle silly.
