  1. If underground on an airless, tectonically stable body, they could last a very long time....
  2. I support theend3r's moon idea, not our moon though, if we want it to survive the Sun then we'd need to shunt it out into a much higher orbit, or possibly use a comet. I'd also omit any hardware or moving parts, and have all the data etched on solid state storage (rock). Yes it'd be big but a moon can support it
  3. On the subject of the mentos leaving the bottle, you could put something in the way that coke can pass through but not the mentos
  4. You may have ended a flight with him in it, without knowing exactly what you've done in this save it's impossible to say for sure.
  5. I'm nearly certain this is actually going to be added to KSP, it just didn't make it into 0.23
  6. We'd die trying. But seriously, what could be more galvanizing to us as a species than the struggle for our own survival?
  7. I still don't think they'd work like real L-points, the topography of the points themselves would not be right, but the locations could be accurate at least
  8. That might do it, they'd be child entities of the parent planet, and have the necessary offsets.
  9. We're starting to veer into conspiracy theory territory with point 8, not telling joe public every minutiae of internal decisions is not equal to lying.
  10. I agree, it'd involve a lot of work to force patched conics to fake L-points, I don't think they'd ever be "right" either, and anyone with real knowledge of them would be disappointed.
  11. I'm sure HarvesteR could alter it to suit, might invalidate existing saves though.
  12. It'd just be on rails Neil, so it'd always be in the right place
  13. So the warp bubble hits Earth, what damage could that conceivably cause?
  14. Has anyone mentioned tourism yet? Yes there's resources on other worlds/moons, and we could build stuff in low or zero G, but for a lot of people there's the desire to actually go to Mars and the rest for the experience alone. This isn't necessarily financially viable, not for a long time anyway, but we're a curious species, we'll go to these places not because it makes sense, but because we just want to go. That is reason enough.
  15. Moons having their own moons are rare, conditions have to be just right and their orbits won't last. Their term seems to be sub-satellite
  16. Very impressed maccollo, Real Solar System is definitely KSP's "hard mode"
  17. If you don't see the fun in this challenge, don't compete, it's that simple. Let others play this challenge without spamming up the thread please.
  18. May I suggest you use the mission clock as a measure of who comes "first" ?
  19. It seems the imgur tags add the rest of the URL for you which is nice, I'll poke the guys about getting the forum FAQ updated with this
  20. I'll try, hold on Edit: [ imgur ]fEueO[ /imgur ]
  21. Try just the gallery code of fEueO
  22. It took me more than one go Captain Sierra, I forgot the .png
