  1. The trouble peterpacz1, is that people are not often inclined to buy games for strangers, as once people start doing this the requests for a free game will come more and more often, from those deserving as well as those who are not. It is possible to pay for KSP on Steam using prepaid cards, or to buy from the Squad store with the paysafe card, but of course it means having the funds to start with. It might not be what you are after but I'm sure the guys here can think of ways you can get the money together, one way I would suggest is to do some odd jobs for the elderly near you, they often need help, and then when you have some money you can see about how to make the payment. Oh yeah, nearly forgot, discussing piracy is against the rules here, so don't do it
  2. Thankfully KSP won't be that much, I will guess a final price of $25 to $30, but that is just my guess. The expansions will be much more than a few parts, they will be more like whole new gameplay elements such as base management or terraforming, but again, the actual expansions are unknown. Squad know that anything they make after KSP is complete will have to compete with what the addon community are able to produce, and they can make some very impressive stuff, so whatever we eventually see in the expansions will have to be stuff that can't be added through the parts and plugin system. They will most likely be core changes to the code
  3. Welcome to the community Copenhagen_Suborbitals I wonder how similar the flights of the HEAT-1X modelled in KSP will be compared to the real thing, especially with a screaming Kerbal aboard We'd love to be kept updated on Peter Madsen's KSP accomplishments, has he reached the Mun yet?
  4. Welcome to the community BaneOfPilots That's a cool lander, a bit overkill but that just means it's more fun right? Have fun getting back to Kerbin and fly safe!
  5. Welcome to the community Icarus_Vice You need to get over 5 posts then be automatically upgraded to a Bottle Rocketeer before you can post blogs, you should be able to view them but there's a forum bug at the moment, sorry
  6. Welcome to the community Kerbol Prime The community is as great as the game, so stick around and check out the forums, it's great here
  7. Welcome to the community RocketPilot573 Yeah KSP is a great game, it's the only game like this that I know of, well except for Orbiter which doesn't have Kerbals, and an iPhone game that is in 2D I think I'll stick with KSP
  8. Welcome back to the community csiler2 I little thing like faulty backups cant hurt Squad, all the KSP code was on a git repository, nice and safe
  9. Welcome to the community JaySmoka Hehe, KSP is better than Lego, you can't step on a painful bit of plastic with KSP, well you might be able to when Squad release Rocket model kits Have fun on the forums and in KSP, and fly safe!
  10. The trouble with lasers is that they also get hot and the firing craft needs to radiate that heat to space, so laser equipped craft would have big heatsinks and a heat signature, making them easy to detect and a target for heat seeking ordinance. It'd take time for a laser to burn through a hull, enough time for a retaliatory shot maybe? And while lasers are cool, there'd be a place for conventional projectile guns in space, with no gravity or atmosphere to deal with their effective range would be limited only to your targeting and tracking ability. They wouldn't lose potential energy like they do on Earth, and also wouldn't generate enough heat to worry about while being able to do damage as soon as they hit, unlike a laser. Oh and if you are really good, you could shoot someone on the other side of the planet if they didn't change orbit
  11. You might also find the fairing factory to be quite useful here too
  12. You can place them anywhere really, I like mine higher up on my landers so they illuminate the lander as well, and more of the surrounding terrain but you can always have two or more sets of lights I also like to use the Mk2's on my stations hull and solar panels as it makes them look nice, Mk1's are a little too bright but are the best for docking approach and landing.
  13. I cant think of an addon in-line chute, but it is possible to fit one of those radial attachment points on top of a 1 meter chute so you can attach more parts after it such as a docking port
  14. This is a bug actually, KSP should not reselect in-use or dead Kerbals, but sometimes does
  15. Damion Rayne is his screen name, Anthony Keeton is his real world name
  16. I think it's best that people just add to this thread instead of making loads of new ones to be honest.
  17. Ever been to a costume party? Or a convention where people dress as videogame characters? So some people who dressed as animals made it a "thing", they were probably mascots for something, and it spread. People feel better when they are part of a group, safer, and they feel stronger as a group when facing adversity, such as the criticisms of others. They hang out and they have fun. And no-one said you had to dress up too...
  18. As long as it's within the forum rules of course, and discussion is a good thing.
  19. Okay, sorry guys but this thread is now closed, we saw a lot of different opinions here and there were a lot of good points, and some negative points but that's what a discussion is. Thanks to all of you, yes even those of you who aren't in agreement, you cared enough to respond. Edit: Lolderp, it wasnt iBoesen's thread
  20. iBoesen, it's your thread, if you want it closed you have to ask.
  21. Well that's true, but I didn't say anything about people being allowed or disallowed did I ? Everyone's getting their say, that's what you want isn't it? It's nice that there is a thread like this, it shows that people do care enough to speak up. (accidentally clicked on edit and not on quote)
