Career mode contracts
Alpha 360 replied to Alpha 360's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
thanks alot, I will be sure to do that -
I just can't get the contracts I really want. I have enough tech to land on Minmus but I don't have an contract for a fly-by of the Mun! How do I get the fly-by of Mun contract?

Pale Green Dot : The story of the Planet Kerbin
Alpha 360 replied to Third_OfFive's topic in KSP Fan Works
Yes! Jebediah Kerman is in the Game! I was really upset in the Whispers of The Kraken that Jebediah was killed, so here we go! -
how does that lump of junk fly? As far as I can tell, the wings along are about 25 tons each and all of the gun must be 10 tons altogether. I think you would need a skipper engine just to get it into the air.

Circumnavigate kerbin, then go to laythe

WHATTTTTT!?!?!?! -
I built my first plane in career mode and surveyed two places and a parachute test. Planes are such great fun in ksp! What I don't understand is that though I am more than capable of flying past the mun, I haven't got a contract yet! When do you get mun fly-by contracts? I am on the level 3, not tier 3 but tier 1-level 3, just so people don't get confused.

What's your time split, building vs piloting?
Alpha 360 replied to Sharpy's topic in KSP1 Discussion
It matters what mode you are playing, if it is early science or carreer, rockets are simple to build and take ages to fly. I spent about an hour and a half on a early minmus mission I remember, and the lander took about fifteen minutes to build. In sandbox though, I would say 90% of the time is spent designing, and 9% of the time is failing. You get the point that succeeding in ksp a rare and awesome thing for me. -
I usually chose movie or something to base off all my ship names. For example, a few days ago I created a science game called Kerbalatic Empire and named my ships after StarWars empire ships, like Tie 1, Tie Intercepter and so on.
-
I really like parts packs, they really give me more options and more wilder rockets. Colonization mods are great as well, except I still have to land them in one piece. The last time I have checked, I had 660 millibytes of mods, do not try it. It killed the game literary. I had to install it again.

Life Support can be extremely fun, but it can be such a pain in the butt to supply every ship with life support. Then travel to like jool or eeloo would be virtually impossible because a large fraction of the rocket mass is food, water, oxygen, you get it.

how do you get to mun?
Alpha 360 replied to Parv Kerman's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Burn at the night side with about 3-4 thousand delta-V in your ship, and remember, burn straight up! Just kidding, burning straight up isn't super efficient, burn at about a 30-40 degree angle help breaks the bonds of Kerbin's gravity. -
I have done my homework on SSTOs and everything and when I design one, it spins out on the runway when I try to lift off. I'm sounding like I'm keeping my cool, but I am quickly losing it. Please help

Whats the hardest thing to do in KSP?
Alpha 360 replied to AffinityCrafts's topic in KSP1 Discussion
LAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
How about this, use asteroids as "motherships". Grab a bunch and put them into low kerbin orbit then send up mission to attach to them. You would have the highest payload size possible. In a 200 ton to LKO rocket, all of that two-hundred tons is your base or whatever you are going to send to Jool for example. You attach the base to the asteroid and then you send up a mining rig with a bunch of docking ports on it and engines and empty fuel tanks and boom, you got a mothership that could go on for a very long time. When it drops its payload to wherever, it can return to kerbin a stock up again, kinda like a cycler.

I am continually upset with the lack of larger adapters. It really puts a limit to how large you can build a rocket.
-
I vote either the spider or twitch, an ant engine could do both of their jobs easily. I once tried using sixteen spider engines to slow my Mun base decent. It didn't even slow it down!

I have installed B9 areospace, infurnal robotics, kerbal alarm clock, kerbal engineer, mechjeb2, near future propulsion and KAS. When I played my science mode,I couldn't log any science data at all! (But, the system say that I needed to download the latest versions of KAS and Kerbal engineer, does this have something to do with it?)

Havin a hard time here with SSTO Rocket
Alpha 360 replied to Xyphos's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Use rapier engines by the dozen and hope for the best -
Mining is an important part of the game. Early on, you want to pratice mining in the Kerbin system, where to go? Here are the stats - 1.which is easier to get to? The Mun of course! You can easily get to it whenever you want, it follows an perfect orbit around Kerbin and missions take no more than a few days to get there and back! Minmus however; follows an elliptical orbit around Kerbin and missions there and back can take a month! 2. Which is easier to get into orbit of? Minmus because of the low gravity, I have charted that it takes about no more than 100 delta V to get into orbit. The Mun takes about 400 Delta V to get into orbit. 3. Which is easier to land on? Minmuss because again of low gravity, it takes about the same stats above to land on either of the moons 4. which has more ore? This is very difficult to tell but I suspect that Minmus has more ore than the Mun, but the high ore regions on Minmus are a little more harder to land on, while anywhere on the Mun is hard to land on. 5. Delta V stats It takes about 2100 Delta V to get into orbit of Kerbin. It takes about an extra 800 delta V to get to the Mun and you have to burn about half of your velocity, Then it takes another four hundred to land on the Mun, which comes to the grand total of 3,700 Delta V from launch to touch-down on the Mun. To Minmus you have to burn roughly 950 Delta V to get to Minmus and about 50 more Delta V to get into orbit, then you burn about 100 delta V to land, which comes to a grand total of 3,100 This is not totally correct but its close

What do you think is your favorite engine, in my mind either the mainsail or the poodle, which is the most efficient engine in the game
-
for me its Moho
-
The greatest moment in KSP was when landed a probe on the Mun with out-landing legs in science mod, it was my fourth day playing ksp

What you need to do is to let your brain rest then think of how to simplify all the gibberish you said so far.
