  1. Also. I just produced a major concept alien shuttle. It wears the flag of the king of planets, Nero, in Galileo's Planet Pack. It intends to be an SSTO with VTOL but not with the capacity to launch from Gael/Kerbin. There are many galilean worlds with atmosphere to deploy this on, and most of them with forgiving measures of gravity. This craft is highly experimental, holding 5 M2X nuclear reactors and some devices that require their total output of 900 EC/s...maybe more. As this is a test game and I have to launch KSP frequently, I'm restrictive on parts mods so no Near Future mods.
  2. Oh, dude. That high liftoff speed is too much; you're wasting fuel on the runway. That reminds me of a major problem with those old OPT wings. They're basically giant elevons and only generate their aero action at their CoM or in this case, nearly the CoM of your craft, making them very ineffective for steering. I urge you to add extra elevons/ stabilizers/ tail fins, and disable the ones in those main wings. For a long and heavy craft like this I also urge you to add some near the cockpit, and tune your rear wheels (make them taller, move them a little towards the CoM) to help the cockpit nose up. Done right, you can lower your liftoff speed to an epic 70m/s or even less, and help the tail-spin problem. Also, with four J-61 air engines attached now you can surely afford to replace the Rapiers with dedicated LFO engines and increase your fuel economy in space. Remove the bicoupler and try the J Linear Aerospike engine. See if you get decent thrust along with much higher Isp. It should be the best engine you have and would casually install on your crafts.
  3. @MR.Mac you've really posted a winning design there. Congrats!
  4. Now I see where it clips I can reformat it. ...Or not. Now make it clickable. xD
  5. : D? ...This is clearly not signature sized. But it's what I came up with. Add an image to your signature just how you'd add it to a forum post. Only concern is you don't have much vertical space down there.
  6. Thanks. There are people who want a little more to add on top of Stock + OPM, like @eddiew and the ultimate Dres fan @max_creative should be all over this too. Though I'd like to ask, why change Dres by so much? This pack just needs someone to regularly post screenshots in What did you do in KSP today, and for you and folks to wear signature links/pics like many proud modders do. I can make something for you soon™.
  7. Good old Farnsworth. I wonder what natural process he interfered with this time.
  8. @Galileo Lol! Of all places. Meanwhile on Gratian... These pics really made me start to feel to cover my mouth.
  9. A descendant, semi-reincarnate vessel lights the runway afire for Fort NOX. It's not an SSTO but with a little more LF, an RCS tank and a pair of NERVs it can operate in space. Siecie and Bill enjoy the maiden flight of the NOX Palladium, doing a lap around Gael, overshooting KSC but with enough fuel to spare to turn and land somewhere proper, they made it back to KSC. Unlike its ancestor the Mahha Roku and the flagship the NOX Crown, this design skips out on OPT parts entirely. http://imgur.com/a/6RzO5
  10. I put it on KerbalX. https://kerbalx.com/JadeOfMaar/LOL : D
  11. @SuicidalInsanity This is how much I love this mod, dude. Thanks to it I can build very beautiful and very special things....and in this one case, very amusing things. Feel free to steal pics It's got 15 P-G0 Jumpjet VTOL engines.
  12. Giggled all the way home thinking of this, and challenged myself again to land on the VAB. Lost a few engines. NAILED IT.
  13. FAT-455* tail fins. (It actually says FAT in the name, lol).........Wait. I see what Squad did there!
  14. Ahh, something new to try out with that. I love that engine.
  15. No, Minecraft. Never seen a spaceplane with -only- NERVs for propulsion. I find your adventure ever more fascinating. Put tail fins (or a bunch of small elevons) up front and don't worry too much about the CoL creeping forward. Without that lift assist near the cockpit you'll be stuck relying on high horizontal speed for just enough pitch authority...and praying for a large flat patch when landing.
  16. Oops. I should've tagged you when I posted that picture of my spaceplane sinking into Iota. I've met with that performance problem with both moons, actually @Ohm Machre but thought Galileo was hiding something there like dust storms...like on Gratian (or rather, Minmus fog).
  17. @Mycroft You may not believe it but ..............Mk2 Stockalike Expansion.
  18. This mod should be getting hundreds of tons of love. Everyone who installs OPM should have this too. I'm loving the idea of Cyran itself, Infernas and Iltan....and that it kidnaps Dres.
  19. I've always admired this mod and wondered how much work you alone put into it (like the science definitions) since I've almost never gotten mention about the other devs, and I'm quite relieved, even encouraged that OPM is still fresh and growing.
  20. I think I have another thing or two that nobody has surely done before. Getting to orbit Skylon style (going hypersonic) but without Oxidizer and without the heat cheat. OPT engines get my ships started, but it's engines from another mod that serve as the flywheel and highest gears. First picture is a few weeks ago in KSP 1.1.3, the second is yesterday in KSP 1.2.
  21. Let me hijack your stream. I present to you my hypersonic... The NOX Crown SSTO r4 for KSP 1.2 and the NOX Crown r3 for KSP 1.1.3.
  22. Looks like I did go to space today, and good thing I did. Siecie and Bob went on a serious test flight. They took a true measurement of the stamina of the reincarnate NOX Crown SSTO and tagged the first moon Iota: a 2-day transit from Gael, then a capture burn and soon after, an exit burn to descend back to atmosphere. They should have stayed a bit and buzzed Jeb who's in low orbit there. Bob has confirmed that the plane is somewhat unfit now even for Minmus landings (Iota has Minmus gravity). Siecie points the plane at Ceti which has Mun's gravity and basically shakes her head. The consensus is mutual between her and Bob "...Not happening." Here they are after the initial 4-day return and the first aerobrake pass to cut their orbital period by half. From this view they get interesting new images of their home planet and record these to the ship's log. After about 3 more reentries the pair have to face the inevitable dark side landing. Good thing Fort NOX kept the memo and installed chutes. The CoM remained a huge problem after the catastrophic engine failure was remedied. They land on a tiny island barely larger than a stadium (I'm not sure...I didn't mind it too much since it was so dark but it was shocking to zoom out just a bit and see water all around), off the west coast of the mainland that KSC is on and were promptly recovered by noon the next day. With this experience the spaceplane is revised again from being a science vessel and returned to its original purpose and then some-- a crew shuttle now with cargo space and without the CoM issue. Spoiler: They forget to deploy the wheels and break a few things.
