They became the bumpers. Original controllers didn't have those. So if you play an original game on a 360, RB and LB are white and black. You're also missing the D-pad in your count.

I've been trying to figure out how I could pick the things up, re-attach them to a tank and boosters, and re-launch them... Loading new payloads might be interesting.

Turning a space plane on the ground
Geonovast replied to davidpsummers's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Without steerable landing gear (there are mods that give you larger steerable gear) or a good number of reaction wheels, offset thrust is really you only option. You might be able to get out and push, but I'm not sure how effective that would be. I really think the small gear would be good enough for that plane. How heavy is it? I have an SSTO that's about that size and uses 3 of the smallest stock gear. ~26 tons. -
Not much today, other than sending up the Trinity for another ELP station module, and getting this set up.

Turning a space plane on the ground

You can toggle your engines off individually. Shut off the left one to go left, the right one to go right. -
What is the most HORRIBLE way one of your kerbals died
Geonovast replied to 322997am's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I once had Val fall prey to the Vashta Nerada. I'm not sure what happened. She had launched to the runway in a small rover, inside a command seat using Take Command. She was still out there when I saved and went to bed. She was not out there long enough to die (TAC). When I loaded the save the next day, I noticed she was on the MIA list. Rover was still out on the runway, but had no crew. And this part was where I really wish I had a screenshot, but somehow did not think of grabbing one. She was still in the command seat. Right clicking on her brought up the box, but had no options. She had her helmet on, which was wrong, because I have TRR installed. Her visor was also darkened. I forgot to count the shadows. -
Almost there... Game's starting to get a little irked at me. Landing is getting interesting, since I now have 7 crafts just hanging out at the KSC. Shuttle tug, 35 parts Reliant, 112 parts Progress, 112 parts Shuttle McShuttleface, 112 parts Astrid SSTO-P, 49 parts Astrid SSTO-P, 49 parts ISRU unit (for refueling the SSTOs without recovering), 42 parts. Thanks to @whale_2 for making this possible.

It's amazing how fast the insanely difficult stuff becomes second nature. -
Help with landing on duna

Sounds like you're playing the game the right way. Congrats! -
I dunno but that's awesome. Sometimes the glitches are really the best part of this game.

Remap your screenshot key! My secondary screenshot key is my back mouse button.

The "You know you're playing a lot of KSP when..." thread
Geonovast replied to Phenom Anon X's topic in KSP1 Discussion
That's like saying "That burger had too much cheese." Which is just ridiculous. -
I wish I had more screenshots. I guess I didn't take nearly as many as I'd thought. After delivering another science module to the station, the Reliant came down in what was thought to be a routine descent. Nothing really went wrong, except they came up a bit short. You'd think that by his 4th mission, Ferbert would know what he was doing. Anyway, knowing there wasn't enough fuel to fly over the mountains west of the KSC, he put down in the very nicely flat plains near the base of the mountains. The engineers scrambled at the KSC to devise the best rescue mission, which was to send a drone plane with a refueling cart. Paus got out to weld a refueling port to the tail of ship and hook up the cart. (Tail refueling port is being attached to the entire fleet now.) Luckily these shuttles were designed to be able to take off all by themselves. Typical landing at the KSC, despite Paus forgetting to repack the chutes while she was refueling. The tug went out and pulled it back off the runway to get parked behind the SPH. A ship and her crew: Now I gotta see if that drone plane can come back. No effort was put forth to design it that way... but it wasn't meant to land, either. It was meant to pop the fairing and have the cart parachute down, but the first run resulted in the fairing deployment disintegrating the cart... Hopefully in a couple missions I'll have a photo op of all 4 shuttles together. Starting to wish I'd kept better records and attached an actual story to this...

Is there a mod that disables the Recover Vessel button for all ships that aren't landed anywhere at the KSC? I'm trying some recovery immersion, and it's such a habit to go up and push that button on landing. I'd like to actually have to go recover vessels or kerbals when I miss. Even better if I could only recover while landed at VAB or SPH. If it doesn't exist and it's not that hard and someone decides to make it... I'd be interested in the process of how it was written.

Does anyone know what this means?
Geonovast replied to anti_con2's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Remember that whenever anything's dicey and you're worried just opening the save could make it worse, all you have to do is simply copy the save folder to somewhere safe. Literally everything regarding your save is inside that folder, and if you make things worse, you can keep restoring from the backup. -
How much of your staged rockets do you recover?
Geonovast replied to Krow's topic in KSP1 Discussion
It might be more of a pain, but IMO it's a lot more fun. I'd do it a lot more, but I really don't want to deal with switching rapidly between vessels to try to land lower stages and still get the thing to orbit. Usually if I have a recoverable rocket, the whole thing gets to orbit, then stages, so I can bring the stage down when it's convenient. -
What is your most facepalm-worthy moment regarding KSP?
Geonovast replied to MaverickSawyer's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Certainly not the worst, but the most recent. Check. Yo. Stagin'. Boosters left without me, and the left one did a perfect arc to destroy the runway. 100% repeatable, because I did it twice.- 383 replies

Shuttles docked to space station picture thread
Geonovast replied to Geonovast's topic in KSP Fan Works
I came in at 1.3, so I constantly forget that there used to be no heat damage. -
Is that... a cat tree?
-
I don't like career. I almost exclusively play Sandbox, occasionally Science, and very, very rarely will I play a career save for about 20 minutes before I get bored.
-
I suppose just try it? Easy enough to do in a way that you can't lose anything. Although since it's been this long, why not just wait for 1.4?

Running List: Simple Suggestions
Geonovast replied to Wcmille's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
The ability to launch a kerbal from the Astronaut Complex and plop'm right at the front door. -
Sent up the first station module not to go in a shuttle. Way too big, so it went up in an disposable automated rocket. DSEV centrifuge. (This is part is honestly the only reason I installed the mod)
