  1. There have been several discussions about it, and it's basically been concluded that it's not really possible because of the physics bubble, and how the craft only exists as far as orbit is concerned off of its CoM.
  2. Today I finally got a properly working, oriented, and textured (it's not great, but there are textures!) part made and into KSP! I have a good amount of tweaking on the model, textures, and cfg yet, but I now have an all-in-one under capsule abort system. It runs on Monopropellant, so it's not complete dead weight in orbit.
  3. If you right-click on the BG parts, you can remove them from symmetry, and then configure them individually. Advanced Tweakables may need to be on for this.
  4. If anyone replying thought you were wasting their time, they wouldn't waste it, they would ignore this thread and move on. Asking questions is why this place exists. I didn't know about ZeroMiniAVC until just now, so I'm probably going to go install that. I have a ton of mods that aren't officially updated, yet work perfectly, so the "Yo this ain't gonna work, you need to step back like 3 versions" are quite annoying.
  5. Got here right when they started the countdown. Always nice to see such a nice launch.
  6. Instead of typing it all out again, I'll just link to the WDYDIKSPT post. Essentially I took an overengineered Mun mission to Duna for no reason, and accidentally left Bill in orbit of Ike. I was rather new at the game, only had it for about a month-ish.
  7. Bill got so excited to be fixing something in orbit that he turned into an electric screwdriver.
  8. The game would be stupid unplayable without the snap feature. I am completely baffled as to why it defaults to off.
  9. You need to turn the snap on. Bottom left corner of the screen, there's a button that has a yellow circle in it. Click on it, and it'll turn into a hexagon. You can also toggle it with "C". Unless I need to fine tune something, I always have it on. Not having it on makes everything all wonky because nothing's actually lined up in a way that makes sense. You'll probably want to re-do your goo containers once it's on. The one with the yellow dot is your symmetry. Toggles with X, you'll want to play with that as well.
  10. I want to say real life. I think the scale for in-game time would probably be measured in days.
  11. Hit Esc. Click Settings. Click Difficulty Options. Make your changes and click Accept.
  12. If you click on a picture in a post, it shadows the rest of the page, and brings up a picture viewer that lets you scroll through the pictures embedded in the post.
  13. I think there's something wrong with the enlarged image viewer thing. I seem to recall before that it stayed with the pictures in a post. But now, when clicking the right arrow to view the next picture, instead of stopping when it gets to the last image of the post, it displays the first image of the next post. This could be misleading for picture-heavy threads like WDYDIKSPT.
  14. Wifi is just the worst. I have a co-worker who lives out in the middle of freaking nowhere, to the point that his wifi will have zero competition. His old router was fine, but he upgraded his DSL package and they of course replaced his stuff with one of those garbage all-in-one boxes. Now he has constant dropouts while trying to watch < FullHD movies on the xbox in his livingroom, not 30 feet from the router. I consider wifi a last resort, only if ethernet is not an option (like a phone/tablet or one of those "computers" that don't have an ethernet port. Yes, they exist). I'm not a huge fan of powerline adapters, but I'll take them over wifi.
  15. If you don't care about the other launch sites at all, like me, you might want to take a look at Making Less History.
  16. @tater I was referring to the rocket deliberately missing the boat when it knew it was damaged, to save OCISLY. So it did fail to land as originally intended, but appears to have succeeded in its landing abort.
  17. That's not that telling since almost every consistent contributor on the forum has one... I'd say almost every consistent contributor on every single forum I've ever been to that supported profile pictures have one...
  18. Can we call it a failure if the rocket succeeded in what it was trying to do? I would say in this instance that smacking the boat would have been the failure.
  19. Linux joystick support has been broken in KSP since 1.4. It's not Linux's fault, it's KSP's, so it should work fine in other things. You're telling me you're using a joystick in KSP 1.4 or higher without the AFBW mod?
  20. If I'm not mistaken, every single landing failure has been new hardware.
