  1. Venus Airships Not really. The ITS takes a maximum of 4 months to get to Mars. Especially considering that Mars only has 40% gravity, they'll be fine. this didn't have a link attached NASA has more than enough money to do a 10 year Mars program. marssociety.org SpaceX could easily do this for 100 million by launching two BEAMs tethered together. NASA is known for being very money inefficient. The JWST cost 18 times more than expected. I'm sure there are plenty of rich people who would go to Mars just for the adventure.
  2. Team: US Mission: 5 Starting funds: 117,857 Cost: 10152 Reward: 10,000 Remaining Funds: 117,705
  3. Spacex Discussion Thread: NASA SLS/Orion/DSG/DST thread: Kerbal EDU:
  4. Landing engine. Do you target the old island airfield or the monolith near the KSC?
  5. Well, its been 30 years away, and has never been specific. Saying that your company will be doing a specific thing in the next 6 months for years is worse. Government contracts, then millionaires who want to leave Earth.
  6. You are orbiting Kerbin in a 200 by 200 km orbit. Burn retrograde or prograde?
  7. Moderating:
  8. That's the point. This is supposed to test which are real.
  9. @VanamondeCan you please move this to general discussion?
  10. *Venus We've all had that happen to us.
  11. Have all the Easter eggs really been found? Help by continuing the search! The Devs have hinted that the magic asteroids(the ones with glowing textures) have a special feature. What is it? Is there a second SSTV signal at 10,000 petameters? Is it true that when you are on EVA in the same orbit of Ike where the magic boulder used to be, Wherner appears? Are there any anomalies in the underwater smilie face on Kerbin? What is this?(most interesting one here!) How to you pass through a rift to the center of kerbin?
  12. https://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/97541-12213-fuel-tanks-plus-1121-2017-04-09/& BTW, if you just want larger parts, you can just copy paste the config file and use @rescale
  13. I'm going to start a thread of unconfirmed easter eggs.
  14. That is still there isn't it? There is also an unconfirmed SSTV signal at 10,000 petameters. The bugs are part of the fun.
  15. I'll amend my statement. For non expert playersme, a direct ascent is not actually always the best, especially considering 30-part limit.
  16. Its in 2010. (Why did it take 6 years to make orbiter 2016? KSP was developed from nothing into 1.2 between O2010 and O2016!) Anyway, Orbiter is off topic. Great mission reports! Is BARIS compatable with 1.2.2?
  17. True, but not if you want to land and return from the Mun. I guess few other players take the EOR route, so you're right.
  18. There needs to be a LES for 1.25 meter parts.
  19. I disagree. You can upgrade the VAB and make a huge direct ascent rocket, or do Kerbin Orbit Rendezvous(smaller rockets, but docking is needed). Or preposition a lander in munar orbit(medium rockets, but no docking). Or apollo style. I don't think that direct ascent is actual always the best in ksp. I agree. I think that maybe Squad or some modder should make a visual tech tree editor.
  20. Press cntrl f4, and it opens scenario editor. It is easy to use and allows you to move vessels however you like.
