  1. I gone Old School today. Updated KAX to work on KSP 1.3.1 to 1.7.3. Vintage Propelators, scaled, on a metal fuselage. I love KSP! (wanna try? KerbalX for the craft, Thread for the latest KAX, Curseforge for the latest TweakScale to work on 1.3.1).
  2. KAX 2.8.0.2 is on the wild! https://github.com/net-lisias-ksp/KAX https://github.com/net-lisias-ksp/KAX/blob/master/CHANGE_LOG.md https://github.com/net-lisias-ksp/KAX/blob/master/INSTALL.md https://github.com/net-lisias-ksp/KAX/releases Changes: Embedding KSPe.Light services for KAX KAX now works also on KSP 1.3! #HURRAY TweakScale support is now native to KAX Patches were built to be compatible from TweakScale 2.7.3 to the future 2.5.0. Vintage Propelators patches were updated. Vintage Propelator Super Sport is now scalable. — — — — This is a maintenance minor release, internalizing TweakScale's patches for KAX on the distribution. That poor guy is working his SAS out to keep TweakScale oiled, and taking the KAX Patches to me will make things easier for both of me . I, also, finally finished and tested a way to use the same distribution for every KSP from 1.3 to 1.7.3, what includes the new Category Filter: See the GITHUB's main page for KAX for details (you can have the old Category back, or plain disable the whole thing if you want). This thing will probably works too on KSP 1.8, as I updated KSPe to learn how to handle Unity 2019.2 - pending testing, of course, as all I could do was to check the 2019.2 documentation for the Unity functions KSPe (and KSPe.Light for KAX) use. A flying weirdness was made to test KAX 2.8.0.2 with TweakScale 2.3.7.0 on KSP 1.3.1 . This thing also worked on 1.7.3, or course. Observe the KSP version watermark, and also the Category Filter for KAX on the left. Link for KerbalX craft: https://kerbalx.com/Lisias/KAX-131-+-Vintage-+-TweakScale Good luck landing this thing! Cheers! Well… It took me only NINE MONTHS, but I finally got your 1.3.1 working version. KSP 1.3.1 is not fully tested, I'm going to play a bit with it in the next days. I could use some help on it! Cheers!
  3. Yeah, baby! A new victi… uh… customer! Anything blowing up that should not, kick me on TweakScale's thread!
  4. Cheesy, old, but with a nice bass! Warning: This thing is old, really old!
  5. I need your KSP.log and, most of the time (so it worths to send it in advance) the ModuleManager.ConfigCache. See this thread for information on how to proceed: Go it. Let's inspect this: [LOG 12:39:43.697] [TweakScale] INFO: WriteDryCost Concluded : 1467 parts found ; 0 checks failed ; 0 parts with hotfixes ; 0 parts with issues overruled ; 518 Show Stoppers found; 1 Sanity Check failed; 320 unscalable parts. 6. Not exactly: Source: https://www.copyright.gov/help/faq/faq-duration.html Since everything Walt Disney did, he did before 1978 (he died on 1966), Disney (the Company) is able to renew the copyrights using the USA legal system. Everything from 1978 to nowadays are subjected to the author's death + 70 years, no renewal. At least on USA, obviously.
  7. So it must be about March or May, 2029, by this time...
  8. The Berne Convention is the "Rule to rule them all". It happens that USA implements the Berne Convention minimally, with few addictions. Countries are free to add more restrictions to their citizens, but are not allowed to wave any of the Berne Convention rules. Some countries make the mere presence of a copyright infringement material on the computer as a crime (in the USA, it's using the problem, not the possession.) And so it goes on. Nops. This is a common misunderstanding. Copyrights only expires by age (70 years after the creator's death). Trademarks are the thing you risk losing if you don't defend it. And, by all means, protect your SAS.
  9. To tell you the true, me too! Got it. Let's crack that nut! WildBlueTools-master/GameData/WildBlueIndustries/000WildBlueTools/Parts/Utility/PlasmaTV3.cfg/PART Congrats! Your issue is terribly simple to fix: delete GameData/Airships-master , you had installed the AirShips from WBI on the wrong place. Cheers!
  10. But it will in the future, as new releases of TweakScale are issued! Probably. KSPIE doesn't uses patches, they apply the TweakScale directly into the part - making it a kinda of hard dependency. You have TWO problems to worry about. One is the Solar Panels, the other is the battery mini. The battery is related to RSS: MODULE { name = TweakScale type = stack defaultScale = 0.625 type = RealismOverhaulStackSolid } They patch things without checking if they were not patched before. It's an already known issue, but working late hours I ended up missing this! And a fix was already made too!! Sorry! In a nutshell: Download this file. (click on "Raw"). Move it to a directory under your GameData. I suggest GameData/__LOCAL/TweakScale/HotFixes - but anyone will do. You must remember where you put, however, as eventually it will not be more necessary and then it can harm the game. It's the reason an Advise will popup on startup when HotFixes are active. About the solar panels. it's not a problem on KSPIE, TweakScale or Kopernicus. It's lack of support. You see, you have a lot os parts using the stock's ModuleDeployableSolarPanel , and these things does not works with Kopernicus. UrlConfig { parentUrl = NearFutureSolar/Parts/SolarPanels/solarpanel-blanket/solarpanel-blanket-3.cfg PART { name = solarpanel-blanket-3 module = Part <CUT!!!> MODULE { name = ModuleDeployableSolarPanel animationName = PanelsExtend useKopernicusSolarPanels = false <BAITA CUT!!!> } I found a lot of "useKopernicusSolarPanels = false" on your installment, meaning that such parts does not wants to be patched with Kopernicus (and Kopernicus respects that). These parts will have the same problem on your installment, they will not be able to catch light from anything but the root Star on the System. However, yeah, some Solar Panels don't have the Kopernicus block, and these have TweakScale support. I will need to use the WeekEnd to further pursue this. But on a temporary measure, the following patch will withdraw TweakScale from every Solar Panel on the game. I don't know if this will or will not fix your problem, but if didn't, at least we know it's not TweakScale. And if it does fix the problem, then I know it's something I need to tackle down. Open a text editor, copy & paste this parch, and then save the file on GameData/__LOCAL/TweakScale/hacks . Name the file Kopernicus_SolarPanels_hack.cfg . i strongly suggest you use a easy to remember place to put that file, as this is not a proper fix, I don't know (yet) if it will work fine and once I have time to proper fix things (assuming I'm the one that can fix it), you will need to delete this stunt! // This is a hack to delete TweakScale from all Solar Panels to see if it fixes a apparent incompatibility with Kopernicus. // See https://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/179030-14-tweakscale-under-lisias-management-2434-2019-0903/&do=findComment&comment=3681644 @PART[batteryBankMini]:NEEDS[Kopernicus,TweakScale]:HAS[@MODULE[ModuleDeployableSolarPanel]]:HAS[@MODULE[TweakScale]]:FINAL // Should be :AFTER[TweakScale], but we are not using :FOR yet. { -MODULE[TweakScale],* { } } Try it and let me know if the Solar Panels are working again. Also publish a new ConfigCache to allow me to see exactly what happened. NOTE: I didn't tested it yet. Please use a new savegame (don't risk your running ones! backup everything! Use S.A.V.E.!) . I will test it myself on my next free time window (probably after lunch).
  11. Moving the discussion here, by the same reasons. Link to the original post. Probably. Buy yet, one would be doing it while breaking the law, and he/she must be perfectly aware of it. There're a lot of loopholes on the Copyright Act that would protect you on such event, but yet, they are loopholes and not available to the whole World. Australians are ones that should be cautious about, Copyright Laws there are terribly harsh - American Law applies only to Americans, and in America. Fact is: copyright bites. You are caught distributing ARR material on some parts of the World, you are fined (on mine, it can be a felony if money are involved somehow). I'm not remotely worried about the licensor's right, I'm concerned about the users. I know that most users will not refrain themselves from using it (legally or not) - the presence of some ARR material on the torrents around the World makes this clear - but yet, you must know you are downloading ARR material by… non exactly authorized, heterodox means… and take the proper precautions. Copyright Trolling is a reality. Ok, about 1 between 1.000 are caught by a troll - but yet, no one wants to be that one.
  12. I'm moving the discussion here, as this was getting way offttopic on the main thead. Link to the original post. Link to the thread's OP. ReStock having MIT and LGPL artifacts don't change the fact that I can't redistribute it later, as MIT and LGPL allows. Saying Restock are licensed in a way similar to CC BY NC ND is factually incorrect (in fact, can be legally unsafe), besides having embedded artifacts by Porkjet PartOverhaul licensed under CC-BY-NC 3.0 - so they choose not to allow future artists to use their material the same way Porkjet and Squad allowed them to use theirs. What's a perfectly legal and fine choice to be made - but yet, it's not CC BY NC ND so you can't expect any if the rights a CC grants you. On the long run KSP's license grants me more rights and does it explicitly, so they are more dependable.
  13. The current KSPIE is using 2.4.3.4 last time I checked. But CKAN must be able to keep them updated. Install TweakScale, then install KSPIE. I think that from this point, CKAN can handle things.
  14. Well.. I did my part. It failed. But, hey, I tried it!
  15. A patch is a piece of configuration data that a third-party writes to be used by Module Manager in order to change ("patch") something in order to reach a goal, not previously implemented by the original author. Using as an example what I think is your problem with Solar Panels: Kopernicus allows the game to have more than one Star on the scene, but the original KSP only knowns to cope with one Star, so the stock Solar Panel code (we call this "module") only knows how to fetch light from Kerbol. So Kopernicus wrote a new Module that knows about many Stars, so that part can fetch light from any of them. But Stock Solar Panels knows squat about Kopernicus, so Kopernicus guys wrote a "patch" to change the Solar Panels to use their module instead, and so the Solar Panels (after patched) knows how to fetch light from any Star. (your Solar Panels is not working, probably, (pending confirmation) because TweakScale does knows squat about Kopernicus - so someone needs to teach it about). Wait a bit, it's working hours for me - I will come back to it later. With your ConfigCache, I will eye ball the problematic parts and then cook a fix for you! (the alternative would be download everything, creating a new test bed to check your problem, and so detect here the problems - but this is something that demands more time than I have available on working days!)
  16. Hi. Got the log, let's crack that nut: [LOG 19:58:09.727] [TweakScale] INFO: WriteDryCost Concluded : 1016 parts found ; 0 checks failed ; 0 parts with hotfixes ; 0 parts with issues overruled ; 1 Show Stoppers found; 9 Sanity Check failed; 387 unscalable parts. Not that bad. TweakScale is a whiner nowadays because when a serious error happens, that whining helps me to track down the root cause of the problem (there are no easies anymore). So let's get that FATALity nailed down: [LOG 19:58:09.634] [TweakScale] ERROR: **FATAL** Part batteryBankMini (Аккумуляторная батарея Z-200) has a fatal problem due having duplicated properties - see issue [#34]( https://github.com/net-lisias-ksp/TweakScale/issues/34 ). And yeah, we have another Toe Stomping while patching: [LOG 15:00:13.374] Applying update TweakScale/patches/Squad/Squad_Util/@PART[batteryBankMini] to Squad/Parts/Electrical/z-200Battery/z-200Battery.cfg/PART[batteryBankMini] [LOG 15:00:18.827] Applying update FerramAerospaceResearch/_FARPartModule/@PART[*]:HAS[!MODULE[LaunchClamp]]:FOR[FerramAerospaceResearch] to Squad/Parts/Electrical/z-200Battery/z-200Battery.cfg/PART[batteryBankMini] [LOG 15:00:20.536] Applying update FerramAerospaceResearch/_FARPartModule/@PART[*]:HAS[!MODULE[FARWingAerodynamicModel],!MODULE[FARControllableSurface]]:AFTER[FerramAerospaceResearch] to Squad/Parts/Electrical/z-200Battery/z-200Battery.cfg/PART[batteryBankMini] [LOG 15:00:33.403] Applying update RealismOverhaul/RealismOverhaul_Global_Config/@PART[*]:HAS[!MODULE[ModuleEngines*],!MODULE[ModuleHeatShield],~RSSROConfig[]]:BEFORE[RealismOverhaul] to Squad/Parts/Electrical/z-200Battery/z-200Battery.cfg/PART[batteryBankMini] [LOG 15:00:33.612] Applying update RealismOverhaul/RealismOverhaul_Global_Config/@PART[*]:HAS[~crashTolerance[>12]]:BEFORE[RealismOverhaul] to Squad/Parts/Electrical/z-200Battery/z-200Battery.cfg/PART[batteryBankMini] [LOG 15:00:33.925] Applying update RealismOverhaul/RealismOverhaul_Global_Config/@PART[*]:HAS[~gTolerance[<50]]:BEFORE[RealismOverhaul] to Squad/Parts/Electrical/z-200Battery/z-200Battery.cfg/PART[batteryBankMini] [LOG 15:00:34.066] Applying update RealismOverhaul/RealismOverhaul_Global_Config/@PART[*]:HAS[~maxPressure[<4000]]:BEFORE[RealismOverhaul] to Squad/Parts/Electrical/z-200Battery/z-200Battery.cfg/PART[batteryBankMini] [LOG 15:00:34.170] Applying update RealismOverhaul/RealismOverhaul_Global_Config/@PART[*]:HAS[~breakingForce[]]:BEFORE[RealismOverhaul] to Squad/Parts/Electrical/z-200Battery/z-200Battery.cfg/PART[batteryBankMini] [LOG 15:01:16.409] Applying update RealismOverhaul/RO_SuggestedMods/Squad/RO_Squad_Electrical/@PART[batteryBankMini]:FOR[RealismOverhaul] to Squad/Parts/Electrical/z-200Battery/z-200Battery.cfg/PART[batteryBankMini] [LOG 15:01:43.520] Applying update RealismOverhaul/RO_SuggestedMods/RO_RCS_Config/@PART[*]:AFTER[RO-RCS] to Squad/Parts/Electrical/z-200Battery/z-200Battery.cfg/PART[batteryBankMini] [LOG 15:02:59.525] Applying update RealismOverhaul/RO_RadialEnginesAttach/@PART[*]:HAS[#node_attach[*],#attachRules[1,0,1,1,0]]:FOR[zzzRealismOverhaul] to Squad/Parts/Electrical/z-200Battery/z-200Battery.cfg/PART[batteryBankMini] [LOG 15:03:01.878] Applying update RealismOverhaul/RealismOverhaul_Global_Config/@PART[*]:HAS[#RSSROConfig[*]]:FOR[zzzTagCleanup] to Squad/Parts/Electrical/z-200Battery/z-200Battery.cfg/PART[batteryBankMini] [LOG 15:03:02.128] Applying update B9PartSwitch/CopyEventsPropagator/@PART:FOR[zzzzzz-B9PartSwitch] to Squad/Parts/Electrical/z-200Battery/z-200Battery.cfg/PART[batteryBankMini] [LOG 15:03:04.628] Applying update InterstellarFuelSwitch/PatchManager/ActiveMMPatches/IntegratedDecoupler/@PART[*]:FINAL to Squad/Parts/Electrical/z-200Battery/z-200Battery.cfg/PART[batteryBankMini] [LOG 15:03:05.621] Applying update Kopernicus/Config/SolarPanels/@PART:FINAL to Squad/Parts/Electrical/z-200Battery/z-200Battery.cfg/PART[batteryBankMini] [LOG 15:03:06.792] Applying update WarpPlugin/Patches/OreTanksFix/@PART[*]:FINAL to Squad/Parts/Electrical/z-200Battery/z-200Battery.cfg/PART[batteryBankMini] And dude, there's a lot of people patching this part. This is too much for being manually inspected by brute force, I need more information to track it down without using too much of my time. Please upload your ModuleManager.ConfigCache file, so I can inspect the patching being applied to this part. This will make things a lot easier to me. About your Solar Panel, I fired up my 1.6.1 TestBed with Stock and TweakScale 2.4.3.4 (and nothing more) to check this: Well, it works fine. It's not something on TweakScale patches, so it's surely something else in need to be fixed. The thing with TweakScale is that it only knowns about what I tell it, and I only can tell it about what I know. The default Patches on TweakScale is what I know about, and I need help to further develop that patches! On a blind guess, I think that the problem is Kopernicus, as Kopernicus uses a custom module for Solar Panels and the default TweakScale patches don't know about it. I found something of interest here, on the Kopernicus repostitory. Keep in mind, however, that if you deactivate he Kopernicus Solar Panel module, you will lose the ability to catch light from any other Star than Kerbol. In a way or another, I will be sure about it when I inspect your ModuleManager.ConfigCache (what I need to do anyway, due the FATAL above). Apparently, I will need to apply a Pull Request to the Kopernicus guys adding the TweakScale support it needs (unless I find someone else that does it).
  17. When I heard of it by the first time, it was two the count for casualties. Now are 5. Sad. Not to mention the craft itself, what a huge loss. (disheartening, who knows what I like to do on KSP knows I love bombers) I hope they manage to find what happened, so this can be prevented in the future.
  18. Power shortages. I hate power shortages while in the middle of an atmospheric flight . And yeah, I got one yesterday at the end of the day, when I was closing shop to go back to the game!
  19. That's the thing: TweakScale does scales Crew Capacity! However, there's a mishbehaviour on the KSP U.I. (see Issue #44) that prevents TweakScale to scale up the Crew Capacity. The code works (see this post), but only when scaling down! (i,e., you have a 4 seats part, when you scale it down to 50% you get 2 seats, and to 25% you get one sit), it's the scaling up that make KSP blows. I think that the U.I. code is hardcoded to the part's prefab data, not the living part. So scaling it "live" borks the U.I.
  20. I do not expect that this low resolution image would find its way into the LoadingScreen - as a matter of fact, I intend to hack my installments to include it for me, and this is good enough. But.. As much as the contestants here have really, really impressive work (and I meant it!), this screenshot of one of my first challenges is what resumes the KSP experience for me. I'm very found of it. However, the image below (on the spoiler) is what I really would love to have on my Loading Screen. Ok, it have some text so it's not a proper entry - but I like it the same. I authorize the use of the images (including the one on Spoiler. besides not being applicable to the Contest) and my login name as requested on the OP.
  21. The XInput is always involved because it is always loaded. And it's also constantly being called (to read the inputs!), so it's also very usual that it can be a (preferable) screaming victim of whatever is trashing the game. I was told something about third parties Unity Layers, as Steam and Radeon Overlay. In a way or another, that crashes are on 0xc0000005 (Access Viollation). This one is a 0x0xc0000006 (In Page Error), and the behaviour matches what I expect to see on a failing hard disk with SMART. So checking the Hard Disk is the first thing to be done, not only because it makes sense, but because if I'm right the guy needs to act fast to salvage what he can before the HD dies for good.
  22. Publish the new KSP.log on https://github.com/net-lisias-ksp/TweakScale/issues/62 if you can, after confirming that every single FATALity is related to a SM Add'On . You are the third to have problems with SM Add'Ons, and it will be better for me to handle all of these problems at the same time. There's a lot of patches on SM Add'Ons, I would like to prevent handling them one by one! Publish also the ModuleManager's Config Cache. This will make easier to cook fixes.
  23. Uhh! In Page Errors! Check the SMART status of your hard drive. This thing use to happen when the system needs to swap back some memory, but got an I/O error from the HD on the process. If the SMART pinpoints non recoverable errors or exhaustion of sparing sectors, you will need to replace your hard disk.
  24. I just remembered about a plane I built 7 months ago and had loose on a stupid mistake (as deleting the wrong KSP installment, cleaning up things). Well, i got lucky - I had a forgotten backup somewhere on the HD. So I decided to apply her on the challenge, but unfortunately the Sunday is over. Interestingly, I had also forgot that I already had uploaded a video about her once. It`s an earlier revision, but yet, nice to see.
