So this summer break I went on a trip to C@N@D@ with United and on the way here I encountered a whole lot of crud like this: Being delayed by United Airlines Losing Greencards and getting them back at RIGHT BEFORE the late flight, which wouldn’t be able to go with my connection. Staying in a hotel with no working water Running out of Dill Pickle chips (yes, I actually like those) Realising I have to be stuck in the same clothes for three days straight since the trip took two days and United delayed my bags So what are you encounters with United Airlines? Good (unlikely)? Bad (likely)? Tell me your opinions on United.

The Ultimate Jool 5 Challenge Continued
Hummingbird Aerospace replied to JacobJHC's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Thanks! I just realized that I should probably add some more solar panels, batteries, and radiators. I managed to take off first time and it handles excellently, but I am not sure if I should just use RAPIER engines instead. I should probably add a docking port for a dedicated Tylo lander, and maybe in some continuation an Eve lander. I might also ship up a science sat with it to support landings and find high ore concentrations. -
The Ultimate Jool 5 Challenge Continued
Hummingbird Aerospace replied to JacobJHC's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
@JacobJHC If I design a spaceplane SSTA, Tylo will be the hardest. I won't be able to use wings OR parachutes since both of them need atmospheres. Now introducing... The Raven SSTA! The RAVEN SSTA was the result of a dance-off party between Hummingbird Aerospace and C7 engineers. C7 won the dance-off, of course, so Hummingbird Aerospace was challenged to build a craft to participate in the Jool-5 challenge, a multinational spacecraft challenge that has huge rewards for getting to all 5 of Jool's moons. Of course, despite being a newcomer, Hummingbird Aerospace thought they could do even more. Due to the latest innovations from Kerbodyne, ISRUs and resource harvesters could be used to refuel on the fly. The RAVEN is a true SSTA spaceplane. It can go almost anywhere, but is a hard plane to master. Once you're in orbit, you can practically go anywhere in the Solar System. The RAVEN deviates from most other spaceplane designs using Ramjets, NERVs, and LV-T45 engines to achieve maximum efficiency, unlike those fuel-sucking RAPIER engines. What’s your favourite rocket type?
Hummingbird Aerospace replied to Hummingbird Aerospace's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I know that but generally when someone would think of an SSTO i think of spaceplanes. Fine, I fudged up, I guess this is a battle I cannot win. -
I got bored with stock graphics, so I downloaded EVE, PlanetShine, and Scatterer. My problem is that when I open up the menu and KSP started running as slow as a single NERV attempting to de-orbit the Mun. But, I sat through the bone-crushing 15 minutes it took me to get to my save, load a basic rover, and realize THERE WERE CLOUDS!!! All of the planets looked pretty when I went into the map. Dres still looked boring as ever, but that’s normal. I wanna keep the fluffy clouds and the realistic water, but... 1: I saw an image where laythe looked super pretty, it was this aqua blue colour and you can see the clouds from orbit. How do I get this? 2: How do I get my computer to run faster with visual mods? 3: What is your favourite visual mod layout?

Laythe Capitalism!
Hummingbird Aerospace replied to mr_yogurt's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
How to become a Laythe Capitalist Step 1: Prepare froot loops Step 2: Sit in front of your big screen TV Step 3: Watch some of those ludicrous long range mini SSTO videos Step 4: Become a copycat Step 5: win -
The Ultimate Jool 5 Challenge Continued
Hummingbird Aerospace replied to JacobJHC's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
1: Is getting an ISRU tag bad or good (probably not very good)? 2: Sure. I just need to add a bit more oxidizer and have waaaaaaay better piloting skills. 3: So in the mission rules it says that you can assemble your ship out of many parts in orbit. Does that mean that I can send my SSTA into orbit and cling onto an asteroid inside Kerbin’s SOI and refuel? I am not sure about sending up a tanker to refuel my SSTA because I think refueling in orbit kind of bends the meaning of a single stage craft. Would you agree with me? 4: Oooohhhhhh yeeeeeaaaaaaaah. I just realized that if I could at least land on Tylo without struggling, then doing a grand tour would be e.z. as π. -
What’s your favourite rocket type?
Hummingbird Aerospace replied to Hummingbird Aerospace's topic in KSP1 Discussion
You do have a valid point, but: 1: Safety features are crucial if you do not want to crash’ n’ burn 2: SSTO is a general term for a spaceplane that does not detach any stages. Sure, you can make vertically-launched SSTOs (SSTO rockets), but those are more rare. 3: With SSTOs you have to pull around all the extra useless crap like empty fuel tanks. It is just easier to jettison them. -
The Ultimate Jool 5 Challenge Continued
Hummingbird Aerospace replied to JacobJHC's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Will you get extra credit for making it to all of Jool's moons without separating any stages (a.K.a an SSTO/SSTA)? -
Help with building colonies?

Why is there a launchpad on the moon? Is it making history or an easteregg? -
Fastest Juno-powered aircraft
Hummingbird Aerospace replied to RealKerbal3x's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I guess part clipping should be okay, because it would be too much of a fuss to eliminate anyone who clipped 40 juno engines together. -
Fastest Juno-powered aircraft
Hummingbird Aerospace replied to RealKerbal3x's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I have heard one can clip parts in this challenge... is this true? Will you get a bonus for no part-clipping? -

What’s your favourite rocket type?
Hummingbird Aerospace replied to Hummingbird Aerospace's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Everyone seems to like rockets, like me. They are easy to fly, easy to build, and you don’t need to haul around extra useless weight like in SSTOs. -

Help with building colonies?
Hummingbird Aerospace replied to Hummingbird Aerospace's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I would like to keep thing stock, I might try out some mods when I am more experienced. Probes are booooooooooring. But ok, I will try. That looks cool! Thanks for the help with building a colony! I appreciate all your help and suggestions. Thank you, -Imperial Star Destroyer -
The Name Change Thread (WARNING! ONE TIME ONLY!)

Can I change my name to Hummingbird Aerospace, please? -
THE ORION CREW MODULE CONSTRUCTED BY HUMMINGBIRD AEROSPACE This beauty is my take on the Orion Crew Module, a next-generation orbiter capable of Mars/Duna orbit. Of course, the Orion Crew Module in real life can handle 4 crew, Hummingbird Aerospace had to sacrifice an extra seat for a souped-up herbal entertainment system, with all the KerbNet channels. That way, your Kerbals will be able to make year-long journeys to the red planet without getting bored for a single moment! This baby has 3,372 m/s of that sweet, sweet Delta-V, and weighs a hefty 30t. It is filled to the brim with Liquid fuel and Oxidizer to keep your campfires burning long enough. It is made out of 35 parts and is 13m in height. Although it has the Delta-V to reach LKO without a launch vehicle, it does not have nearly enough TWR to get off the ground. Warranty void if used without compatible launch vehicle. Here is the freshly-baked craft file, warranty void if craft is eaten. https://kerbalx.com/Hummingbird_Aircraft/Orion-Crew-Module See you on Duna!

How to facepalm yourself THE KERBAL WAY: 1: Send up reusable rocket test with Jedediah, Bill, and Bob 2: Be to lazy to de-orbit it 3: Launch an Eve probe 4: Realise you are not at the transfer window 5: TTTIIIIMMMMEEEEEEWWWWWWAAAAARRRRRPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!! 6: Realise you now have an Eve transfer window 7: Realise you have left your reusable rocket crew in orbit for a YEAR AND A HALF 8: Bring poor Jebbie back home 9: Switch to reusable second stage 10: Fail at landing 2nd stage 11: Realise you forgot to deploy the chutes on the command pod 12: Mourn the death of your best crew 13: RAGE QUIT

I think if Squad releases too many DLCs, that would be unfair. Everybody here payed 40 bucks and that is fine by me. An extra 15 dollars isn’t too bad but I’m gonna get to the point: KSP is expensive already. A few DLCs are good, but too many of them will start plaguing stuff like craft sharing and people will start getting jealous of each other.

I would really like to build a colony, but I am not sure how to build it or how to put it in place. I would like to put it somewhere pretty like Jool, which has many moons to expand on and has Laythe which would be a prime place to put a colony, since it is likely that Kerbals could evolve to live on Laythe. I am not sure if I should bring up my colony parts one by one, or just build a colony ship. How do I get a Jool transfer? Is there anywhere better than Jool to place a colony? Why does SpellCheck want to correct Jool to Joel ? If anyone with more experience with planetary bases and self-sustaining operations could help, I would appreciate it very much.

How does one build a shuttle?
Hummingbird Aerospace replied to Chel's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Usually I like to put a clamp-o-torn shielded docking port on the front. It looks cool, eliminates the need for separate docking ports, and has the same aerodynamic value as the nose cone. -
