    I am talking about the break even point, where they stop supplying methane but some is still left in the sandwitch part. The methane and oxygen may mix, and I am not sure if a piece of stainless steel can withstand that much force.

    Which radar/missile did you use? Try aim120 with jernas.

    So maybe the starship would have a reentry temperature of 1900K if it werent for the reflective stainless steel.

    The shuttle weighted 76 to 80 tonnes dry mass, but was only 37 meters in length with a 23 meter wingspam. Starship probably has a dry mass of 85, 55m long, but was 9 meter in diameter and had a smaller wingspam. Reentry weight of the shuttle was about 80 to 85 tonnes, while that of starship may exceed 100 tonnes. The shuttle relied on wings to remain high up in the atmosphere, while to starship relied on airbrakes to slow down.

    Sir, may I take a look at your rocket? 14.87 max acceleration is insane. And where is module manager?

    Is using 64bit on ksp v 1.2.2 a good idea? You can try to start a new game in ksp v 1.3.1 or 1.4.5. Most RO mods are updated.
